“Aaliyah was absolutely fabulous with my 3 month old puppy. She stayed the entire time during my house sit and sent lots of update pictures to ease my nerves of leaving him for the first time. I strongly recommend Aaliyah and will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Olyssia was the perfect person to watch our babies! They have never been left with someone they were unfamiliar with before, but from the moment she met them during meet and greet, we knew she’d be perfect! She was so attentive to them and their needs, and was so fantastic with communication with us! She sent so many pictures that definitely eased our minds while we were gone. Our animals loved her so much and warmed right up to her! We will definitely rebook with her in the future. ☺️”

About: I have had many dogs since I was born and have owned many animals including hamsters and snakes. I have treated minor illnesses in dogs before and know multiple emergency vet offices nearby. I am comfortable giving medicines and keeping strict routines and diets. I excel in reading animal body language and understanding and avoiding triggers. I attend College classes Mondays and Wednesdays. I also have a part-time job that I work Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. I usually wake up around 7:30 and have a relaxing morning to myself. I spend my free time at home doing school work and hanging out with my dog and cat. I have a 3/4 acre lot with a six foot chain link fence. I have a Shar-pei American Bulldog mix and a Domestic Shorthair cat, both do well with other animals and can be contained if the need arises. Animals get fed twice a day, 1/2 a cup each morning and evening for the puppy and 1/4 cup each morning and evening for the kitty. The animals are let out freely as we have a screened in pool with a dog door. Toys are preferred but if your baby likes the dog park I know of many and am willing to go with them. Animals are not allowed on the furniture but can get plenty of snuggles on the floor!

“Lori is wonderful with our spoiled Bailey. We never have to worry when we leave him with her. She was at our house over New Year’s and experience a very scared Bailey with lots of fireworks. She handle that situation just like we would have done. Bailey is very happy when he is with her. He hates for us to leave, but is very happy when he sees Lori at the door. We highly recommend her and use her when she is free. Thank you, Lori.”

As a Treasure Coast local, I enjoy giving back to our community by helping make life a little easier for fellow pet owners. About: I’ve been caring for animals my entire life. I grew up fostering dogs and living in a home full of pets of all types, so reading animal behavior and meeting individual needs comes naturally to me. I currently have two dogs of my own—one senior dog who’s in excellent shape and another with diabetes—so I’m extremely comfortable with special care routines, medications, feeding schedules, and detailed instructions. I’m very attentive, organized, and consistent when it comes to pet care. I understand how important routine, patience, and calm energy are—especially for senior pets, anxious pets, or those with medical needs. I treat every pet like my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and well-cared-for at all times. Whether your pet needs structured exercise to burn off energy, gentle walks, playtime, or extra cuddles and reassurance, I tailor care to what helps them feel happiest and most comfortable. You can trust that your pet will receive the same level of care, attention, and love that I expect for my own I’m currently home full-time, which allows me to provide a very hands-on level of care throughout the day. Pets are never left alone for long periods and I’m able to accommodate regular walks, playtime, feedings, medications, and individualized routines. Starting toward the end of March, I expect to return to the office a few days per week. Even then, pet care will remain a priority, with mornings, evenings, and consistent routines fully maintained. I’m careful to only accept bookings that fit my schedule so every pet receives the attention, supervision, and care they deserve. I have a fully fenced yard and a calm, structured home environment. I also have two friendly, well-socialized dogs, and all interactions are always supervised. I’m experienced with introducing pets slowly and can easily keep dogs and cats separated or crate them if needed to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety. I’m very attentive to routines, boundaries, and individual needs—especially for senior pets, pets with medical needs, or those who prefer a quieter setting. I’m happy to follow any specific care instructions, including feeding schedules, medication routines, crate use, or solo time. I’m flexible and can care for pets either in my home or in the client’s home, depending on what works best for your pet and your comfort level.
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hailey did an amazing job caring for our home and pets while we were away for four days and three nights. From the start, she was professional, dependable, and easy to communicate with, which gave us great peace of mind during our trip. Our pets were clearly well cared for and received plenty of attention, affection, and exercise. Hailey kept us updated while we were away, and it was reassuring to know everything was going smoothly. When we returned home, our pets were happy and relaxed, and our house was clean, secure, and well maintained. Hailey went above and beyond our expectations and treated both our home and pets as if they were her own. Her rates were very fair, especially considering the outstanding level of care and service she provided. We highly recommend Hailey to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and caring house and pet sitter. We will absolutely be using her services again in the future. Thank you, Hailey!”

“Iloira helped me out with my senior dog who has bad separation anxiety by keeping him company while I enjoyed a night out. She loved on him and took him for a walk and he settled down and took a nap. Iloira sent me updates so I could relax. I knew he was in great hands!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was very young. I love all breeds of dogs and have a way of connecting with any pooch. Dogs are our trusted friends and companions and I always treat them like a member of the family. I am comfortable walking, feeding, boarding, and playing with dogs. I am available for boarding on weekends (I currently have a full time job on Mondays through Fridays). I am a great fit for any pet owners who need to make plans for pet care if you are away for the weekend. I can keep your dogs comfortable in any manner of your choosing in my house. I have room in multiple bedrooms and in my living room and a big yard for them to walk around in. I can put them in a crate if that is what they are used to or let them stay in a bed if you prefer. I am a big proponent in plenty of exercise and play time for dogs.

Amanda house sit with Fabio for a week while I was on vacation. She was great with my shy little guy. She visited with him before the sitting and he was relaxed and comfortable with her. Amanda is kind and caring and Fabio sensed this right away. While I was away she kept in contact with me with messages and pictures which I appreciated. I returned home to a happy little guy. I definitely recommend her if you want to have piece of mind that your babies will be well taken care of while your away.

Very happy to have found Janet. She has a nice soft way with our dog and cat. She communicated with us extremely well and we were very happy with the overnight house sitting she did for us. We will definetly be using Janet again when we figure out our next adventure.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Indian River Estates on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Indian River Estates walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Indian River Estates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Indian River Estates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Indian River Estates. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
