“Tyler is truly the best!! We’ve had her stay at our house and watch our dogs several times. She takes amazing care of our dogs and cat and they absolutely love her. She is so kind, respectful, and leaves your place better than when you left. Absolutely recommend!”

“We were so relieved to find Ashley because our 14-year-old dogs needed special care. She handled it all, and we came home to happy dogs and a clean home. She kept us updated and was just so pleasant to work with. We are so appreciative of her care of our dogs!”

“Kerry, simply put, was absolutely amazing!! Communication (A+), Care for our house (A+), Care for our dog (A++++). Our dog is a little standoffish at times and by the end of the first day, she was cuddling on him and giving him kisses. He left a heart felt note upon leaving our house, which I must say, seemed like he wasn't even here given how clean it was. Thank you so much, Kerry! Already looking forward to you watching Aurora again.”

About: I am a life long animal lover growing up with many different types of animals. In the past five years, I have cared for small and large dogs, cats, and even rabbits. My work schedule is open and flexible, so your furry family member will be my primary focus. I will make sure dogs or cats has an enjoyable and has the necessary exercise time. My family currently includes three dogs, one car, and a lop rabbit. We have a large yard and hiking trails nearby, so I know where to take your dogs for frequent walks and even hikes.
“Bailey was the sweetest thing and we were very grateful she could accommodate us through the weekend. She was very responsive every time we reached out via text and we appreciate her meeting us in advance to introduce the pups to her.”

“We couldn’t be happier with Zoe’s incredible care for our baby doggie, Caramel, while we were away on a family trip to Hawaii! From the moment we left, we knew Caramel was in the best hands. Zoe treated her like royalty, giving her so much love and snuggles that it almost made us jealous! We especially appreciated the regular updates, complete with photos of Caramel’s adorable antics and health check-ins. It brought us so much peace of mind knowing our sweet girl was happy and thriving while we were away. Zoe went above and beyond in every way, and we can’t recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will love your pet as much as you do, Zoe is the one!”

About: I grew up with two rescue dogs who I took care of. They were brother and sister. I always loved taking care of them. The brother was a bit on the slow side but he was really friendly. His sister lived to 18, and as needy as she was I loved taking care of her. It required a gentle hand that I was happy to provide. I love animals in general, and would be glad to help take care of anyone’s pets. I work part-time as a mover. Usually 2-3 times a week for 2-4 hours. The only other commitments I have during the week is church on Sunday mornings. I am available most days and nights. Since I am a college student I do not have any pets right now, so this job gives me the opportunity to spend some time with furry friends who make me very happy.
“Andree has been AMAZING!! She has done so so so well with my super anxious pup. Andree is super patient and was able to get my pup from growling to cuddling! I will definitely hire Andree again!”

“We have never left our pets for this long before so we were a bit nervous beforehand. Everything went great! We returned home to happy, well cared for pets. Thank you!!!!!”

“Jess was exceptional. My dog had an unexpected issue during the time Jess was watching her and Jess remained communicative and calm all while navigating my dog’s illness with great competence. I would absolutely recommend her to others and use her services again!”

“Brittany has taken care of our 2 dogs now twice and each time she is very thorough on how their day was and sends pictures. I know when we have Brittany watching our 2 fur babies that they are well taken care of”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life from older dogs that need for care to tiny puppies you can’t take your eyes off. I love dogs and I am very comfortable around them no matter breed, size, or age. looking for some fun this summer I love cats and dogs but unfortunately don't have any of my own I would love the chance to take care of your pet and enjoy being around them My house is a very loving environment for pets with all pet safe plants and doggy blankets as well as beds with more toys than they can dream of
“Elva was a great house/pet sitter for us! This is the first time we have ever needed one for our 12 year old dog and we couldn't be happier with the service she provided. I appreciated that she was willing to come before we left to meet us and learn our dog's current routines. I came back home to the house still being clean and a happy dog. I will definitely reach out to Elva again for any upcoming trips!”

“Emily watched my two poorly trained pups in a challenging environment (house remodel) and she was fabulous. I can't recommend her highly enough - Emily is one of the best sitters I've ever had on Rover! She is prompt, courteous, thorough, and was able to handle a prey-motivated pit bull who pulls a lot.”

“Marce did a fantastic job taking care of our little dog for 12 days while we were out of town. We had daily updates and came home home to him/the house looking great! We will absolutely be booking with her again in the future.”

“Sophie was a wonderful sitter to our 2 old pups! She made sure they were fed and taken out. She had to give medicine to one of our dogs with each meal and she was great at making sure it was all done how they are used to it. She cleaned up after herself and anytime I had a question she responded promptly. I would absolutely hire Sophie again as a dog sitter!!”

“Ilina was absolutely amazing with our pups! She stayed for 4 days, house sat and cared for them. She kept us up to date on them and how they were doing, sent pictures and just gave them the love they needed while we were gone. They get nervous when we aren’t home with them and she did a great job making them feel at ease. She went above and beyond, washing her sheets and bedding and kept the house super clean. Will definitely use her again! Highly recommend her to care for your fur babies and house sit.”

“Lyric stayed with my cat for 9 days and was more than willing to stay later in the day with him since my flight home got delayed. She sent pics and was very communicative throughout the whole process. She did a great job, was very trustworthy, and my cat loved her!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Huntsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Huntsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Huntsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
