“Maddy provided excellent care to our cat, Ruby! She gave us an update along with several photos each day. Ruby needs medicine daily and I never had to worry about Ruby receiving it. I will definitely use Maddy again!”

About: I’ve taken care of all types of animals since I was a child for friends, neighbors, and family. I also have 10+ years of experience working in an animal hospital and I am comfortable with administering medical treatment when needed. I am relatively new to the area with an open schedule during the day that allows me to spend plenty of time getting to know your companion animals. Safety is a priority for me so I make sure to follow your specifications pertaining to your animal. No two animals are alike and I will ensure that I follow your guidelines on what is right for you and your pet.
About: I've been taking care of animals since I was very young. Fur babies seem to seek me out, whether it is in nature or encounters on the street; you can catch me waving at animals before humans (lol). I've had dogs, cats, a horse, and bunnies off and on throughout my life. I just lost my bunny George, so finding Rover is the perfect opportunity to get some fur baby time in to help mourn my little love 🥲 Im excited to love on your babies if you'll have me 🫶 I'm currently very flexible with my time as I make my own hours. I would like to fill my time with fur babies as much as possible :) I will follow any instruction you have regarding your home and your furry companions. Safety and trust are important to me and I want to make sure you know your animals are loved by me too.
About: Growing up I have always had a pet. I have had a family dog for as long as I can remember and have had 3 cats. I love them all! I currently have a 2 King Charles Spaniels. We are active and love hiking and long walks, but also love being lazy on the couch sometimes. I help care for my family’s and friend’s pets often and am someone they can always rely on. I am a nurse and my work schedule changes each week, but the days I am not working I am usually available! I would love to help on my days off. I live in a house with a large fenced in yard with plenty of toys to play with! Depending on your pet’s needs I can offer frequent potty breaks, timed feeding based on their normal schedule, long walks, and car rides if they like! Let me know how I can make your fur baby feel as comfortable as possible!
“Sara has been a blessing for my cat and I. My cat used to be very anxious when I come home due my work hours; however, since having Sara's drop-ins she is very calm, sweet and playful when I come home-!!. Sara is very sweet and has a calm demeanor. She follows the given instructions , responds to messages on time, send you awesome pictures and videos and you can tell she tries to take care of your pet like one of her own. I would highly recommend her!!”

About: I have owned a few pets over the course of my life and have learned I need them as much as they need us. It’s a pawfect life with a dog. I’m currently working part-time and would welcome the time spent with your pet. Hugs and cuddles are always welcomed! Love walking and playing with all pets, or relaxing with those that are less active. I have a fenced in yard, we play fetch and work on teaching tricks and having lots of fun. Dog parks are also nearby for additional exercise.
About: I love dogs and am excited to start this new journey. I’ve had a dog for the majority of my life and while I am not in a place to have a dog of my own right now I am happy to help take care of yours I am a nurse working night shift looking to take care of dogs on my days off. My schedule varies week to week but I can be flexible I have a mostly fenced in yard with a decent amount of space for your dog to play in. I live near a park that is great for walks. I am also willing to bathe your dog if necessary.

About: I have always had dogs/cats in my house and have good experience pet sitting for others and would love to help out more people with their fur babies I am currently on break from school so I have a very flexible schedule and only work part time at the moment. I care for my own pets currently as well and would not at all mind adding more into my routine I have a fenced in yard and two friendly dogs as well as a kitten to keep your pet in good company. The cat can be separated upstairs in its own space if needed
“Melanie was great! She was super knowledgeable and clearly had a lot of experience. I was confident my cat was in good hands and I will 100% book with her again next time I’m traveling!”

“Ella responded quickly to my service request and set up the meet and greet so we could connect on the details of Maisy care. I appreciated Ella’s confidence about caring for Maisy, she asked questions to be sure she understood the details I was sharing. I will be reaching out again when I need Maisy care!”

“I work night shifts and Cooper was able to accommodate our schedule to let Rosie out late at night! He was so gentle and friendly with her, and was really easy to communicate with. Will definitely be reaching out when we need a walker again!”
About: My whole life I’ve spent time around all different kinds of dogs. My cousins had a Shih - Zu who taught me how to deal with resource guarding, and a childhood friend’s old Labrador taught me how to handle the joint issues of an elderly dog. I lived next door to a family who adored the Gordon Setter, and their Setter named Coco was the sweetest lady you could find in our neighborhood! Back in 2023, my sister got an American Pitbull Terrier puppy named Athena, and I spent a short amount of time with her simply just training her to be comfortable with her crate and developing a positive relationship with strangers coming into her environment. Other breeds I haven’t specifically worked one on one with but have spent time with are Samoyeds, Beagles, and Siberian Husky / German Shepherd mixes. Before I was born, my father raised many Alaskan Malamutes in his home, and he passed on all of his knowledge and experience onto me. I have yet to work with a wider range of breeds, but I would love nothing more than to expand that knowledge throughout my life. As of right now, I am unemployed and have plenty of time to take care of animals that may need a helping hand while their owners are away. I am an Aunt of three young children, and I babysit occasionally. On those days, I will not be available so I can give my nieces and nephew my undivided attention. If I’m not available for any other reason once I’ve accepted a client, I will be sure to make it known once the change of plans comes along, and surely within an hour of finding out will I inform the client. When it comes to being in a client’s home, I would need to know where things like food, crate, leash, toys, etc are located. If your animal has specific medications that I need to administer to them, how much do they require and how would you like me to give it to them? Having a backyard isn’t a need for my services, and I can spend a simple and peaceful time with your animal if that’s what they prefer. If a client specified that they would like me to take their animal outside for anything other than going to the bathroom, I am more than okay with that.

“Very prompt and caring. My poor guy has some orthos issues and can only do 15 minute walks so she sat with him the other 15 and just loved him and massaged his poor stiff joints. 10/10 highly recommend”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Howard with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
