“Whitney took amazing care of our two dogs while we were out of town! She treated them like they were her own and gave us so much peace of mind, especially with leaving our puppy for the first time! Will absolutely be rebooking Whitney for future stays!”

“Kaitlyn was amazing. She was with my babies for 5 days. She took amazing care of them. They get anxiety when I'm not home so they don't really eat but she did really great on keeping me up to date if they did eat. She is very responsive and I felt very comfortable leaving them with her.”

“Sarah was fantastic! She sent daily photos of Arlo, including him snuggled up with her on the couch. She is always quick to respond, easy to communicate with, punctual, and left my home cleaner than when she arrived. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!”

“Jazmine is amazing! My dog is not used to being around a lot of people and she was very patient with her and gained her trust. Now Chloe absolutely loves her ❤️”

“Sarah just recently sat for our three pups over the Fourth of July holiday and we couldn’t have asked for someone better! She was so patient, sweet and loving with them. My one chihuahua can be difficult at first but she took it all in stride. Thank you Sarah for giving us a stressful free holiday of not having to worry about our babies! ?”

“Miriam was an attentive overnight sitter for my two senior pups. Provided lots of pictures and videos and kept me up to date on their meals! Will book her again next out of town trip!”

“Kaitlyn was awesome caring for our two dogs while we were away on our first week long vacation! She kindly accepted our request on short notice when we were in a pinch. I am glad we found her and will definitely book with her again!”

About: I have animals since I am 6, I have a malinois in the house with us and my husky is going to join us in December. I have my husky since 6 years now, those bread teach you a loooooot of patience. My Malinois is still young only 6 months old. We also have a kitty, my parents back in France have a lot of cats that I took care for years. I am at home almost all day expect to go do some grocery or else, I take my dog out when I wake up, during the day and before going to bed. She also knows how to ask. My animals are free to go anywhere and sleep with us in the bed or in their bed at our feets. We put her in the room when we leave to avoid having to much mess everywhere. I don’t wanna put her in a crate.
“Gwen was the sweetest, most attention to detail pet sitter while we were gone for almost 2 weeks! It was a very last minute booking and she was there the second we needed her. She loved our dogs like they were her own animals. She kept our house beautiful, sent us pictures almost everyday with an update, and even got our pups new toys or anything they needed while we were away. I don’t trust many people with our animals since one of our pups had severe anxiety and she handled it with the utmost patience and love. I would recommend her over and over again! You fur babies will be in excellent hands with this wonderful woman!”
“Marissa did a fantastic job caring for our dogs. She was timely, always sent pictures, and the dogs were happy and healthy when we got back. Communicate was excellent, I cannot recommend her enough!”

About: Best Care for Your Pets! Hi! My name is Katlin. I've been surrounded by animals my entire life and have always had a passion for caring for them. I currently share my home with my spouse, my two daughters, our dog and cat. Our animals are truly part of our family. I love spending time outdoors, whether it's going for walks, playing fetch, or simply giving dogs the attention and exercise they need. Having owned dogs with a variety of personalities and energy levels, I'm comfortable caring for pups of all ages and temperaments. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their family is away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members. That's why I'll treat your pets with the same love, patience, and care I give my own. I'm also happy to provide regular photo and video updates, so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having someone nearby, I'll make sure they receive personalized care and plenty of affection. I would be honored to care for your pets and look forward to meeting both you and your four-legged family members! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine as a pet owner myself. I care for my dog, cat, and betta fish every day, including feeding, exercise, playtime, and ensuring they have a safe and comfortable environment. Because caring for animals is already a regular part of my schedule, I am able to provide dependable, attentive care for your pets as well. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, feeding, or simply providing companionship, I enjoy making sure pets receive the attention and care they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. My home is a clean, pet-friendly environment where animals are treated like family. I carefully supervise all pets, maintain a secure space free of hazards, and ensure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. As a pet owner myself, I understand the trust it takes to leave your furry family member with someone else, and I am committed to providing a safe, loving, and stress-free experience while they are in my care.

About: I’ve worked professionally with animals for over a year and have experience caring for dogs, cats, and exotic pets of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. I previously worked at a dog boarding facility, where I cared for pets with a wide range of needs, including administering medications, caring for senior pets, handling anxious and reactive animals, and following individualized care routines. I currently work as a kennel technician at a veterinary hospital, where I am learning more about animal health and daily medical care. I’m comfortable administering oral medications, giving insulin injections, and safely giving pills to pets that are hesitant to take them with food. I understand how important it is to carefully monitor pets for changes in behavior, appetite, or overall well-being. At home, I also care for 3 cats and 2 lizards, giving me firsthand experience with both traditional and exotic pets. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, elderly, or has special medical needs, I’ll treat them with the same patience, attention, and compassion that I give every animal I care for. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away, and to give you peace of mind knowing they’re in experienced hands. :) I currently work full-time at a veterinary hospital on a rotating schedule, so my workdays vary from week to week. Because of that, I keep my availability updated regularly. Even on days that I’m working, I’m often available to provide drop-in visits before work, after work, or during other available times depending on my schedule. On my days off, I have much greater flexibility and can accommodate multiple visits or longer stays. I am currently only accepting bookings no longer than 2 weeks. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I’ll always communicate my availability clearly before booking and make sure your pet receives reliable, attentive care. If you have specific timing needs, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to discuss whether I can accommodate them! I believe the best care comes from keeping your pet’s routine as consistent as possible while you’re away. During each visit, I’ll make sure your pet has fresh food and water, potty breaks or litter box care, exercise, playtime, and plenty of love and attention based on their individual personality and needs. I’m happy to administer medications as directed, follow special feeding instructions, and accommodate senior pets or those with medical needs. I always pay close attention to a pet’s behavior and well-being and will let you know immediately if I notice anything concerning. I am totally okay with sending photo and video updates so you can see how your pet is doing. Whether your pet loves to play, cuddle, go for walks, or simply have someone sit quietly with them, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for until you return. :)) At this time, I primarily provide care in my clients’ homes to help pets stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I may also be able to care for small caged pets in my home on a case-by-case basis.
About: I have 4 dogs and 7 cats myself and can manage a lot of animals. I can provide play time and walks as well as follow any medication needs or restrictions. Any days available on my calendar are currently wide open, any conflicts that might be a random plan will be communicated clearly up front upon booking :) I feed my own dogs and cats on a very strict schedule and have been able to manage their medication and health needs consistently. I’m willing to adapt to a client’s schedule and provide any adjustments that are necessary.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hope Mills
Sarah made our first experience with Rover a perfect one. We typically always boarded our dogs but wanted to give this a try to keep the dogs in the home where they are more comfortable and have our yard to run and play. She took great care of our four dogs and the house during our trip away for the week. We appreciated being sent pictures daily and given updates on the fur kids and the house was kept clean and spotless. We will be traveling again several more times in the upcoming months and will be looking to book her again. Thank you again and we truly appreciated taking care of the dogs.

Elizabeth has been amazing house sitting for us! She takes care of our dogs, chickens, quail, and everything at our house. She is always very flexible with changes and has amazing communication. Each day she sends pictures or updates. Highly recommend Elizabeth if you are looking for a house sitter or pet sitter!
THE ABSOLUTE BEST! That is where I start. We had to book him in a pinch and we were able to get a meet and greet in with Khalil and our 3(65# plus) dogs. The meet and greet went great and he showed up on time 3 days later. We received photos every single day. He stayed in our home and was able to keep them entertained while there. The photos we received they were always looking happy. We were gone for 10 days and when we came back it was like we had just left with the house being clean. Khalil stayed in our guest room. We didn't ask him to but he took the sheets off of the bed and put them in the laundry room. The dishes he had used were put in the dishwasher. Main thing was to take care of our dogs and he went above and beyond on that! We will absolutely recommend Khalil to anyone and everyone looking for short and long term stays. Khalil was very responsive. We will be going back to him when we have to be out of town again. Khalil made it so easy to trust that they would be in good hands and taken care of the entire time. I could go on and on. An overall phenomenal experience.

Hailey is amazing! She is incredibly thorough and detail oriented. You can tell she really cares about caring for animals and takes this very seriously. She’s also the sweetest and our dogs absolutely love her!! She sent the most amazing photos of our babies while we were gone and gave us detailed updates. We are so excited to continue using her!!!!

Hero dog sitter! Brittany literally came to the rescue for our pups and is kind, sweet, and really cares. Long story ahead, but important. We initially hired a different sitter to housesit our pups Monday-Friday. We left our house very early Monday to travel to Puerto Rico and expected the sitter to arrive mid to late morning. While traveling, the other sitter I initially hired told me she was in another state due to weather and was trying to get to our house as soon as possible. She said she had a family member that routinely helps her and was headed to our house immediately to take care of our pups until she could get there. I felt I needed to accept this plan since I was already very far away and did not have notice or time to change anything. I got a few updates the rest of Monday that the pups were being taken care of, and that everything was fine. I woke up Tuesday morning in PR and felt something was just “off”, so I checked my security cameras and no one had ever come to my house. No one arrived to housesit or take care of my dogs, ages 18, 15, and 2. I began panicking as I realized they had been alone for over 24 hours while I thought the other sitter’s family was with them. I logged on to Rover and sent out basically an emergency message to anyone it would allow me to message that was available the same day. Within a few minutes Brittany responded that she could help. This is such a busy time of year with the holidays and travel and she stopped everything to take over house sitting for the rest of the week. When she got to my house, thank GOD, my dogs were okay. They were hungry and thirsty and Brittany had a mess from them being alone for almost 30 hours at this point. She fed them and cleaned up and immediately sent me pictures and videos to show me they were okay. I had already checked to see how fast I could return to NC myself but it would have taken over 24 hours. For the rest of our trip Brittany took excellent care of my dogs and reassured me they were okay. I am handling the situation with the other sitter and I have no idea when she made it back to NC but she, nor her helper ever arrived to my house or checked with me since to see if my dogs were okay. I want to let everyone know that Brittany is amazing and will take care of your pets like her own!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hope Mills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hope Mills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hope Mills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hope Mills. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
