“Whitney took amazing care of our two dogs while we were out of town! She treated them like they were her own and gave us so much peace of mind, especially with leaving our puppy for the first time! Will absolutely be rebooking Whitney for future stays!”

“Christina was great with my animals. She went above and beyond by taking initiative to do things I would later ask about. Already done! I'm happy my babies were in such good hands while on vacation.”

“Kaitlyn was awesome caring for our two dogs while we were away on our first week long vacation! She kindly accepted our request on short notice when we were in a pinch. I am glad we found her and will definitely book with her again!”

“taylor was so sweet and communicative! my dog can be a bit anxious when i leave and tends to pout a bit, but every picture that she sent he seemed so happy! she put me at ease being away from him. she sent so many pictures and updates on how he was :)”

“Gwen was the sweetest, most attention to detail pet sitter while we were gone for almost 2 weeks! It was a very last minute booking and she was there the second we needed her. She loved our dogs like they were her own animals. She kept our house beautiful, sent us pictures almost everyday with an update, and even got our pups new toys or anything they needed while we were away. I don’t trust many people with our animals since one of our pups had severe anxiety and she handled it with the utmost patience and love. I would recommend her over and over again! You fur babies will be in excellent hands with this wonderful woman!”
“Kimberly was very attentive and professional. She replied to messages almost immediately and provided updated information and photos about the pets. It definitely made me feel more at ease during my trip. I would definitely be booking her services in the future.”

“Bethany was reliable and punctual. She sent pictures and videos that made me feel confident that my dogs were happy and well cared for during my trip. I will definitely ask her to care for my dogs in the future.”

“Chatavia was a great dog sitter for Max! She updated me on his well being and sent me pictures and videos of him to keep me updated. I’ll definitely be booking with her again.”

“They are absolutely phenomenal! Very responsive to messages and coordination of the meet and greet to start. Wonderful in the meet and greet with the dogs(3). We knew leaving them for the weekend would be just fine. We received so many photos of them playing and enjoying the dog vacation. Arriving back to our house it was clean and tidy. The same way we had left it. I’d recommend Rey and Jonathan to everyone.”

About: I have experience with dog sitting for 10+ years. I will go out of my way to make sure they are healthy, safe, and loved under my care. I am detail oriented and committed to giving you complete peace of mind while your pet is under my care. I also have base access! I have 10 years of owning and training puppies basic commands while at home. I would love to help you out as well if needed. Basic commands consist of come, sit, stay, down, paw, roll over, spot, center, heel, and leave it. I am currently in school full time but online, so I can easily work around your schedule. Being a college student online gives me extreme flexibility through the week. I am so excited to meet your furbabies! I currently live in an apartment. I normally crate my puppy when I’m not home. I can do the same for you if needed. Anything that is needed I will be willing to do my best to accommodate to that.
“Sarah just recently sat for our three pups over the Fourth of July holiday and we couldn’t have asked for someone better! She was so patient, sweet and loving with them. My one chihuahua can be difficult at first but she took it all in stride. Thank you Sarah for giving us a stressful free holiday of not having to worry about our babies! ?”

“Miriam was an attentive overnight sitter for my two senior pups. Provided lots of pictures and videos and kept me up to date on their meals! Will book her again next out of town trip!”

“Jazmine is amazing! My dog is not used to being around a lot of people and she was very patient with her and gained her trust. Now Chloe absolutely loves her ❤️”

About: I’ve cared for cats and dogs from a very young age and have developed a strong understanding of their individual needs and personalities. During college, I spent summers working nights at an emergency veterinary clinic, where I gained valuable experience recognizing signs of illness, injury, and other concerns in both cats and dogs. As the proud owner of three cats, I treat every animal in my care with the same love and attention I give my own. I also have experience fostering animals with a wide range of needs, from tiny kittens requiring extra care to dogs with behavioral and temperament challenges. I currently work full-time from 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday. In my free time, I enjoy walking and spending times with my pets. I am also a volunteer Guardian ad-Litem for Cumberland County so will occasionally have meetings later in the day like 6:30/7:00pm. I have a fenced in yard and three dog friendly cats who love to snuggle. If one is provided, I am happy to crate your dog. My cats free roam, but I am able to keep them placed in a room if needed.
“Sarah was fantastic! She sent daily photos of Arlo, including him snuggled up with her on the couch. She is always quick to respond, easy to communicate with, punctual, and left my home cleaner than when she arrived. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fenix
Gwen is fantastic, taking care of our dog while we were on vacation was great for our dog and us also. Bogey was totally content when we got back, really don’t think he even missed us. It was great that he didn’t have to adjust to different surroundings, or his routine was not affected. Gwen would send pictures and messages letting us know how he was doing. We will definitely contact Gwen the next time we need someone to sit with Bogey. Highly recommend Gwen!

Kaitlyn did an excellent job caring for my two pups. I have a german shepherd with separation anxiety issues and a 14 year old yorkie mix. I can tell she gave them tons of love and attention. Got tons of photo updates too. Came home to a spotless house and two happy dogs. Wouldn’t hesitate to use her again!

Chloe was absolutely wonderful! My two German Shepherds can get pretty anxious when I’m away, to the point where they sometimes won’t even eat. She was incredibly communicative and attentive the entire time, sending plenty of updates and photos so I always knew how they were doing. I was honestly so relieved (and impressed) that she got them to eat while I was gone. That alone speaks volumes. I came home to two happy, well-cared-for dogs, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!

Sarah was great to work with. She is very responsible and responsive. She took care of my 3 cats and house over christmas and did a fantastic job. She followed my instructions, kept me updated with pictures, and cleaned before she left. My cats seemed well cared for and calm upon my return and my house looked great. We will definitely be hiring her again!

Sam did a wonderful job house sitting and watching my cats. She put in the effort to gain their trust and kept them close to their routine. She sent pictures and videos throughout the week and kept me updated and was very responsive. She is responsible and kept the house in order. My cats seemed happy and relaxed when i returned home. Highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fenix walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fenix maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fenix choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fenix. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
