“Whitney took amazing care of our two dogs while we were out of town! She treated them like they were her own and gave us so much peace of mind, especially with leaving our puppy for the first time! Will absolutely be rebooking Whitney for future stays!”

“Rena was great with my pups and showered them with love. She made sure I knew about their day and how they were doing with lots of pictures and videos, which were greatly appreciated! She made sure one of our pups got her ear drops each day and let me know when she did them. I highly recommend Rena and will use her in the future :)”

“Miriam was an attentive overnight sitter for my two senior pups. Provided lots of pictures and videos and kept me up to date on their meals! Will book her again next out of town trip!”

“Kaitlyn was amazing. She was with my babies for 5 days. She took amazing care of them. They get anxiety when I'm not home so they don't really eat but she did really great on keeping me up to date if they did eat. She is very responsive and I felt very comfortable leaving them with her.”

About: I started dog and cat sitting when I was 16 as a side hustle while I was in school, and it quickly became something I genuinely love. I grew up in a house full of animals — dogs, cats, chickens, bunnies, even hermit crabs — so caring for pets has always been second nature to me. I’m comfortable with high-energy pups, shy kitties, and multi-pet households. As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your babies, and I treat every animal like they’re my own. As a stay at home wife, I have a very flexible schedule and am available throughout the day for walks and drop-ins. Early mornings, midday check-ins, or late evenings are no problem. I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine! I love keeping my own pets on a consistent schedule, and I can definitely be a little picky about how things are done — so I completely understand wanting things done a certain way. I’ll follow your instructions exactly as written, stick to your pet’s normal routine, and respect your home like it’s my own. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible for both you and your pets.

About: I’ve cared for animals of all ages, sizes, and breeds since I was young. My professional experience as a Kennel Technician has strengthened my skills in safe handling, recognizing animal behavior, and providing attentive care. As a pre-veterinary student, I’m passionate about animal health and committed to treating every pet with patience, kindness, and care. I’m a full-time student and work part-time, but I make pet care a priority in my schedule. My availability varies throughout the week, and I’ll always communicate clearly about my schedule before booking. I’m happy to plan walks, visits, and care around my classes and work hours. I prioritize each pet’s safety, comfort, and routine. I carefully follow feeding, medication, exercise, and care instructions, and I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and individual needs. My experience as a Kennel Technician has taught me safe handling, cleanliness, and the importance of creating a calm, secure environment.
About: Just like anyone other petsitter, my main reason I am one is my love for animals. Besides that, I also have an interest in learning about them. I will do anything I can to provide all the support I can to the Animal community. I'm a foster to my local shelter and working in the veterinary field. I recently graduated with a BS in Animal Science. I also have 3.5 years of experience as a veterinary assistant, so you'll know your babies will be in great hands! I'm currently a part-time employee, but I can manage to fit time for your pets around my schedule. I always work one full day out of the weekend, but it usually isn't a problem when petsitting. On days that I am at work, I have my husband help me out by doing drop-in visits. He's currently in the military, so his work schedule is usually opposite of mine. I do like to bring him to meet-and-greets to ensure you're comfortable with the both of us in your home. I cannot bring any animals over 30lbs into my home for petsitting as my home is small and currently occupied by 4 cats. If your baby is good with cats and is on the smaller side, I would be happy to have him/her in my home! Your baby will never get bored in my home! In your home, you tell me how I should care for your pet. As a guest to your home, my priority is your satisfaction and your pet's and my safety.

“Mrs. Chatavia is very patient and loving with my puppy! She takes such good care of Noey and makes sure to keep me updated throughout the day with pictures and messages. It’s such a relief knowing he’s in great hands — I can tell she truly cares. 💕”

“I take care of my baby very well, more than I expected, I trusted her from day 1 and she will continue to be the one who will take care of her with her eyes closed!!! Excellent work I will leave 5 stars for it!”

“Great experience using Jenni for housesitting our animals. Super communicative, flexible, pets loved her, sent tons of photos. We came home from vacation and she had washed the sheets and towels AND cleaned out our sinks 😆 Will definitely contact her again for petsitting!”

“Kimberly was very attentive and professional. She replied to messages almost immediately and provided updated information and photos about the pets. It definitely made me feel more at ease during my trip. I would definitely be booking her services in the future.”
“Alivia was great with our two dogs and cat. Our cat became sick during the time Alivia was here and she acted quickly to help her get to feeling better. Alivia would send frequent updates as well and is a very good communicator. I could not have asked for anyone better!”

“I just recently booked with Alicia for house sitting my Austrailian shepherd. I can’t rave enough about what great care she took of my girl and most of all put my mind at ease. I was very anxious about leaving my girl for the first time for a 2 day trip but she was very reassuring and she was already well versed on how to approach a timid dog. My dog and I do a lot of training together and she has always been trained not to just go up to strangers or dogs without my approval so makes her weary about strangers just grabbing her, she doesn’t like that. Alicia took her time with Stormie and allowed her to warm up to her and took no time at all for Stormie to be completely comfortable around her. Alicia had no issues with staying on the schedule I already have set for my girl as far as walking her feeding times, play time, crate time. She was a very timely person and made sure to arrive on time and stay on schedule with any times I had set. She also made sure to leave my house spotless before she left and will take care of your pet and your home as if it were her own. Alicia was also really great about keeping me posted the entire time with pictures and videos and even text message updates. If you are looking for a very trustworthy person to stay in your home and keep your mind at ease while your away from your precious pet, Alicia is your girl!”

“Destiny was fantastic! We had a meet and greet before her initial stay with our pups and we liked her immediately. She was completely comfortable around our dogs and they were comfortable with her too. Destiny is reliable, and completely trustworthy. She communicated with us daily and administered our dog Max’s meds accordingly. We were very pleased with her care for our dogs as well as our home and didn’t worry at all while we were away. We will definitely be booking Destiny again soon!”

“Courtney was phenomenal! She took care of my dogs just like I would. She sent daily updates with pics and videos! I appreciate how kind she was to my sassy old dogs. lol”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fort Bragg
Jessica has made my first time having a dog sitter a truly remarkable experience! She checked in with me often and sent multiple photos and updates, and gave me peace of mind that my doggies were well taken care of. I came back to safe, happy dogs and I'm sure they had a fun time with her! She was also very respectful to my home, professional, and communicated well. Thank you Jessica

He took care of all 4 of my dogs mind you they are all big dogs and my youngest had to take medicine 2 times a day he sent me pictures and and everything even cleaned my kitchen and a few other places and took care of all my packages that got delivered while I was gone and even cut my backyard cuz it was getting long. All my dogs were loved on and very well takin care of words can not express how grateful and happy I would 100% be booking with him again for sure

Jackson was great! We have four dogs that are a handful with two pages of instructions and we came back to happy dogs and a clean house - which, when you typically catch late flights home, being able to go to bed as soon as you get home instead of cleaning up is the best ever.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort Bragg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort Bragg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort Bragg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
