About: I work/ have been working at a doggy daycare for over a year now, and I’ve been near dogs my whole life. I really enjoy spending time with dogs and would love the chance to spend time with your pup! I’m currently working part time, so I have lots of time to spend with your baby. We will have so much fun together! No matter what type of dog you have i promise we will have a great time 😁 I am a very active sitter, we will mostly spend the day playing with toys (until hes tired) then we’ll eat and watch a show, obviously taking potty breaks when needed.
“Kae is very responsible, commutative, and respectful!! She was a blessing to have take care of my Bentley. It was short notice. I’m so glad that she was available. I will definitely book again when needed.”

“Not only did angel help me out by babysitting a bit last minute. She was extremely attentive, sent me so many pictures and Maya had a blast. Would absolutely recommend especially since my girl is more of a hyper pup and Angel handled her with ease 🥹❤️”

About: I've cared for my family and friends' pets while they were away, including overnight stays. I'm also skilled at managing special dietary needs for pets. I am ready to work and can start onboarding any day of the week, from Monday to Sunday. My spacious yard allows me to care for multiple pets simultaneously. I have a big house with a large gated fence, and my roommate has a friendly dog that can either relax outside or indoors with your pet .

“Elle was terrific! We needed care for our 2 dogs while we were gone to wedding. She came over and met us and the dogs ahead of time. The dogs loved her right off. She has a caring personality and they loved that... One of our dogs is a senior diabetic that needs shots. Elly was more than willing to handle that as well as the pills they needed. She sent lots of pictures and notes about how it was going. Everything went well and we plan to request her in the near future. So glad to have someone that we trust with their care.”

About: I treat every pet with love and warmth. We will walk, play, and take medications at the right time (if necessary). I’ve completed specialized training in Animal Behaviour and Welfare through the University of Edinburgh, which helps me better understand dogs’ emotional needs, stress signals, and behavior. I have a small golden doodle that I’ve taken care of since he was 8 weeks old. I love playing with dogs and my goldendoodle is the perfect friend for the day. Upon agreement, I can find any time for your pet. I am currently going to college online and am available all day to give love and attention to your pet! I give frequent potty breaks outside and like to take longer walks every 3-4 hours. I will feed your pet on a regular basis, walk him every 3 hours (I can walk your dog more or less often if you request), give it the necessary medications, play with them, and ensure their safety.
“Griselle was great with our two senior dogs they seemed to be comfortable with her. She sent updates and pictures of them and lets us know how they were eating which is always a problem when we leave but they seemed to do pretty well with Griselle.”

About: I have worked with dogs of all ages from newborn to elderly. I have 15+ years of experience working specifically with Dachshunds, terriers of various breeds, and chihuahuas. I also have lots of experience working with many other breeds as well. Some examples include Germans Shepherd, Australian Shepherd, Great Piramese, Havanese, Pomeranian, Lasa Aspa, and Husky. I work part time as a courier for UberEats. So, I am able to make my own schedule whatever it needs to look like for me to give 110% of my time to the pets that I'll be sitting. I'm available all-day Monday-Sunday 24/7. :) I will only be sitting pets at the clients home. I will take instruction on caring for the pet(s) very close to heart and follow all direction as best as I can. For me, I am not just looking after a dog or cat. I am looking after a family member.

“Isabel did an amazing job taking care of my puppy! She was diligent, communicative, caring snd so kind. I truly appreciated her quick responses and photo and video updates. I will definitely reach out to her again and recommend her for anyone looking for someone responsible to take care of their pet. Thank you, Isabel!”

“Yu Jie was absolutely awesome, especially being available for me on such short notice. She pampered my bundle of joy, Spirit, by taking him on multiple walks, playing with him, and keeping him entertained. With all his energy, she made sure he stayed active and happy. She also made sure he ate at his appropriate time, which gave me peace of mind knowing he was well cared for. Yu Jie went above and beyond, by not just meeting his needs, but making him feel loved. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Home Gardens
This young woman is what anyone would hope for when leaving your pet at home. She will be your pets best friend almost immediately. When you leave your home she provides constant reassurance that your pet is safe and comfortable through texts and photos. And she will leave your home looking as good or better than you left it. Her personality of sure confidence will leaves you comfortable at first meeting. I cannot give her a high enough recommendation. She represents the best that Life has to offer in memorable experiences. It is as if you hired a highly trained military person to guard and protect your animals and property. I just hope to meet her Mother someday just to say, thank you for raising such a wonderful genuine person.

Ann took incredible care of my two big dogs, a husky and Bernese Mountain Dog. I’m a very protective dog mom and it was hard finding a new sitter in a new area but Ann put my mind at ease with wonderful stories highlighting adventures of the day with photos, was very attentive and even started running my husky so she could settle. I can’t say enough good things. 10/10 recommend!

Leaving my dog home during trips is difficult for me and I’m always a bit worried not just for my very anxious dog, but for the sitter in her care (it’s not for the weak). I appreciate how much attention to detail Jennifer requests and takes into consideration. With my dog being more needy and requiring medication, I can trust that Jennifer is able to handle my baby’s quirks with care, patience, and expertise. Thank you for caring for Ella and keeping her as comfortable and calm as possible during my time away!

It was our first time with pet sitter and we were very nervous. But when we met Heather first time, we instantly knew she was the right person to take care of our kitties. She is well organized, took thorough notes. She shared lots of pictures and took very good care of our cats.

Yanely was amazing! Our original sitter canceled before our week long vacation and Yanely stepped in just a few weeks before. She did great with our high maintenance dog (picky eater, reactive towards other dogs on walks) and our low maintenance cat. We will 100% be booking her again in the future 😊. Thank you!!

Natalie is absolutely amazing! She took such great care of our little guy as well as our home. We received daily updates and photos that put our mind at ease. We will definitely be using her again in the future! Thank you for loving on our guy. We appreciate it so much!!

Sarah was absolutely amazing. She cared for our pups Bella and Luna so well, played with them, cuddled, and kept them company while we were away. I was so worried before we left because Bella and Luna generally are never separated from us, but Sarah really made sure they were loved and truly cared for. When we came back it was as if we never left! The dogs were so happy. Thank you Sarah for your kindness and care for our dogs!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Home Gardens walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Home Gardens maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Home Gardens choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Home Gardens. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
