“For anyone looking for a sitter go ahead and just hire Jacqueline now! Jacqueline dropped everything to come and meet my cat and then take over watching her for 10 days when our previous sitter cancelled at the very last minute. She truly loves animals and was so happy to take care of my cat! She provided amazing detailed daily feedback on my kitty, was immediately responsive to any messages I sent her, and really just made me feel that my cat was in great hands when I was away. I can’t recommend her more! Absolutely hire her now!”

“When booking for a boarding weekend, neither Lauren and I were sure whether our cats would be a good fit for a weekend boarding stay. She was more than willing to be flexible and try a one night boarding stay to test out if a longer weekend stay would work. Lauren was friendly, attentive, caring to my cat. Her home was welcoming for my pet. She provided photos. Thank you Lauren for trying a one night trial run!”

About: Hi! I am a Senior at Lake Forest College studying Psychology on a pre-nursing track. I grew up in Boise, Idaho surrounded by animals, both my own and others’. Growing up I had a high-energy dog, many hamsters, a leopard gecko, and a cat. I also spent my entire high school career volunteering at my local humane society, working with both dogs and cats. This has given me experience with dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes. Currently, I dog and cat sit regularly for a few families. You can trust me with your pets like they are my own. My friends and family would describe me as kind, passionate, caring, level-headed, reliable, and loving. I have a passion for the outdoors and am an athlete, so I love any excuse to get some exercise. I also love reading, knitting, watching shows, and studying. So, I can watch your furry friend(s) in any way they’d like! I’m hoping to make some money to pay my bills and go to nursing school next year :) **Schedule** I am hoping to care for your animals in between classes and athletics. Due to this, a lower maintenance animal would be a better fit for me. However, despite my busy schedule, I will be sure to give your furry friend my full attention. **Safety, trust & environment** When with your animals, I will make sure to give them the best care possible, ensuring that I am attentive, loving, and supportive. I send lots of updates to provide reassurance that your pets are happy, safe, and comfortable. When in your home, I will treat it with respect and make sure it remains clean.
“We are so grateful that our new Rover friends could take Cami for 3 nights while we had insulation work. They were so friendly & easy to work with, from booking, meet & greet, drop off & pick up. We got plenty of pics & messages about Cami. 5 star treatment all the way!!!!!”

“Sarah stayed at my house for a week over the holidays and was communicative, followed instructions, and my cat warmed up to her quickly. She left the place clean and tidy. Super appreciated her help!”

About: Hi my name is Nina! I’ve been surrounded by animals all my life and over the last 2 years I’ve truly fallen in love with pet care. I am trustworthy, flexible and go above and beyond for your furry friend. Just as I would take care of my own! I’ve worked professionally as a pet sitter including drop ins, long walks and over two weeks at my clients home. Taking care of your home as much and I do your pet! I am a lover of all animals but more than that, I am comfortable with elderly dogs, dogs with special needs, medicated pups and those that are a bit anxious. I’ve found that home sitting keeps your animals the most comfortable while they stay on their normal routine and meet a new friend! Clients in the past have said I am patient, adaptable, trustworthy and truly go above and beyond for your pup just as I would my own. I’d love the opportunity to gain a new furry friend and hope to take any anxiety away from leaving your baby. I’m currently working as a freelance digital marketing contractor so my days are mostly spend at home. I am extremely flexible when it comes to overnights and walks, accommodating my customers needs. I am happy to stay overnight as needed as well’ I treat your home as if it were my own and my goal is to leave it cleaner than I arrived. When it comes to your pups night routine, I am happy to cuddle up with them or crate the as needed. It’s truly up to what their normal routine includes and I follow!

About: I've spent over a decade volunteering and working with animals across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the Middle East — from cat shelters to training my own dog to service-dog level in obedience (sit, here, heel, center + more). My home is very clean, calm, and routine-based. Whether it's a dog who needs structure and adventure or a cat who needs a spotless litter box and quiet affection, I create a safe, happy, healthy environment and treat every pet like family, with daily photo updates. I’m currently a stay at home dog mom to a 4 month old puppy, I spend most of my time around the house. I also take the pup to the dog park / beach every day or every other day. I have a fenced in yard for my pup & I’ve worked her recall enough now that I don’t have to worry about her. She’s super trained inside and outside the house.
About: I’ve spent some time in high school training service dogs for injured war vets! I also have worked in quite a few doggy day cares! I grew up with dogs and have loved them since infancy! “Ellie was a fantastic person to care for my cat while I was away. She was responsive to all of my messages to set up our initial meeting. She is very well versed in animal care and behaviors which made me feel confident in using her service. While I was away, she was sure to take several photos and her daily cat card reports were so detailed, I felt like I was there with her. I would highly recommend her and not only would I book a repeat service, I already have!”

“Ashley took great care of my cats, followed instructions, and sent pictures each day of their play time. One of my shy cats came out to play with her each day. Would book again!”

About: Used to have my own dog (also cats when I was younger). Now I love to play with and take care of the pets of my friends, family and neighbors! Excited to care for your animal :) Currently on break for the summer so I have a lot of flexibility when I am in town to go for walks, hang out or extended stay care. I will be respectful of your space and make sure your animal feels comfortable in their environment. Let me know what your pet needs and I will do my best to accommodate.

About: I have experience caring for a variety of animals through my work at zoos. I personally own a Siberian Husky and a cat, both of whom are 10 years old and in excellent health. I also have previous experience dog sitting for family and friends. Working at a zoo has given me an understanding of the importance of animal nutrition, exercise, and mental stimulation through enrichment. I am between positions at the moment, so I have plenty of free time to play with your pets, whether that means walking them or simply being there for them. I care deeply about my pets, and I understand you do, too. I always triple check doors when leaving to make sure your fur baby is safe. I am also comfortable with crating any dogs or feeding any shy kitties.
“Wafae took such good care of our kitty while we were gone. She was communicative and thoughtful, and even made an extra effort to stay the night with our cat to make sure she could do the last feeding before we got home. We will definitely book her again and would recommend!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
