“Absolutely phenomenal pet sitter. Danielle was fantastic with both cats and very communicative. I would definitely use her again and recommend her to anyone out there!”
About: Hi! I am a Senior at Lake Forest College studying Psychology on a pre-nursing track. I grew up in Boise, Idaho surrounded by animals, both my own and others’. I have a passion for the outdoors, including skiing, hiking, camping, and more! I am also an athlete and love any excuse to get some exercise. ln addition to being outdoors, I love reading, knitting, watching shows, and studying. So, I can watch your furry friend(s) in any way they’d like! I’m hoping to make some money to pay my bills and go to nursing school next year :) Growing up I had a high-energy dog, many hamsters, a leopard gecko, and a cat. I also spent my entire high school career volunteering at my local humane society, working with both dogs and cats. My work consisted of walking dogs, petting cats, creating enrichments, and cleaning kennels. This has given me experience with dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes. Currently, I dog and cat sit regularly for a few families. My friends and family would describe me as kind, passionate, caring, level-headed, reliable, and loving. When around animals, everyone always comments about how the animals gravitate towards me, which I take great pride in. I am thrilled to meet you and your pets. Message me to arrange a meeting. **Schedule** I am hoping to care for your animals in between classes and athletics. Despite my busy schedule, I will be sure to give your furry friend my full attention. **Safety, trust & environment** When with your animals, I will make sure to give them the best care possible, ensuring that I am attentive, loving, and supportive. I know how important mental and physical stimulation is for your furry friends’ well-being, so I will work to make them happy, safe, and comfortable. When in your home, I will treat it with respect and make sure it remains clean.
“This was the first time I was leaving my cat for an extended period of time and AK kept him well cared for. She also sent me lots of pictures so that I didn’t miss him too much which was very much appreciated. I’d definitely book her again!”

About: I grew up with dogs, but didn't get my own until about 6 years ago. Since then, life has revolved around our pup! I love to walk and will tend to any needs your dog may have. My own pup has a digestive disease, so I am comfortable with giving meds and following strict dietary plans. I know how hard it can be to leave your pup and how important it is to have reliable, loving care! I am very flexible with my time! I am usually available between 8 am and 9 pm. Please let me know your pet’s usual routine, and I will work around your schedule. I would appreciate knowing all about your pet’s habits, likes and dislikes so I can provide the most consistent care possible. Please document instructions for feeding, exercise, potty habits, and any other needs your pet may have.

About: I have grown up with cats and currently have a 6 year old German Shepard named Jamie :) My girlfriend also has 2 cats that I love to hang out with and help take care of! I have a full time job outside of Rover, but am often at home during the day: able to do dog walks or drop ins for your pets. I have full day availability on Saturdays. Treating your pet like my own. On walks I’ll always make sure they’re on a leash, while staying alert to my surroundings, and check in for cues about tiredness/energy levels while making sure they get their activity in! At home will make sure they get all of the attention and care they need.
“Patient and has a good vibe all around. Happy we went with her! We feel comfortable having her with our dog. He can be a lot but she doesn’t seem shy or uncomfortable being around him.”

“This was the second time that Swagata took care of Jojo. She's truly amazing with Cats!! She came for drop-in visit, she followed all the instructions and also spent some playtime with Jojo... I was so glad that she did... I will 100% recommend her if you're looking for a caring pet sitter...”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Lake Bluff
This was my first time leaving my cats with a pet sitter and it was very much worth it. Beth was great - I was able to meet with her ahead of time, right away she bonded with the cats. Beth visited my cats every day for a week and sent pictures each time. She was thoughtful and I could tell she really cared. I would highly recommend her and will definitely use her services again.

Sydney took great care of my cat. She sent regular photo updates. She gave Pip plenty of attention during visits and Pip even posed with her for a selfie. Pip never does selfies. When I got home, my cat was happy and calm. I will absolutely hire Sydney again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lake Bluff. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
