“We feel incredibly lucky to have found Victoriya. Our cats are not an easy group to care for... they are all special-needs cats with complex medical issues, including epilepsy, and one requires multiple medications twice daily. Finding someone we trust with their care is extremely difficult, but Victoriya exceeded every expectation. She handled all of his medications flawlessly, was reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about each of our cats as individuals. Managing multiple cats with different medical needs requires patience, organization, and dedication, and she did an outstanding job. Throughout our trip, we had peace of mind knowing they were in such capable hands. What impressed us most was how comfortable and cared for our cats were when we returned home. It was obvious they had received excellent care and attention while we were away. We have already booked Victoriya for our next trip, which says everything about the confidence we have in her. If you have pets with medical needs or simply want someone trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable, we cannot recommend her highly enough. She is truly a gem, and we are so grateful to have found her!”

“Lori is an absolute angel. She has been a blessing for our family. We can’t speak highly enough of her. She will go above and beyond. Don’t hesitate to contact her. Thank you Lori for all you have done for us!”

“Francesca is amazing with our two high energy doodles. They truly get so excited for daycare or boarding with her. Francesca has been flexible with our schedules (my husband and I are both nurses).”

“Katie did an AWESOME job! She sent a updates each day of our dog having fun with her two dogs. Between play time in the large yard and the living room our dog had a blast and was worn out when I brought him home. I recommend her to anyone!”

“Susan is outstanding! We left our border collie, Luna, with Susan for 19 days in the summer. We received multiple pictures on a daily basis of Susan and her family playing and relaxing around the house with Luna. Luna also had a wonderful time playing with the other guest dogs! We will be sure to set up short babysitting dates for Luna to play with other dogs! Easily five stars!!”

“She was very communicative! She allowed a short 10-15 min meet and greet. She had my 3 babies for an overnight stay as was so patient with them and sent me a video of them playing. This was my first time boarding my dogs anywhere so I was a little nervous on how it would all go but she did so well with them and they seemed to happy when we came to pick them up! Will be booking again 🩷”

“Michelle and Jeremiah are wonderful sitters. From drop off to pickup, everything was perfect. Even though our dogs were there for a short stay, it was obvious they fit right in and were well taken care of. We will definitely rebook with Michelle and Jeremiah in the future.”

“Matthew was a great dog sitter! He sent pictures and updates daily which allowed us to see our dogs having a great time. Timely responses in all communications. I highly recommend Matthew for those of you looking for someone to care for your pet. I plan on using Matthew again in the future.”

“I had never left my fur baby with a stranger. This was new and I was a bit anxious. Ashley has amazing communication. She sent me pictures and video and I was able to enjoy my vacation feeling confident that my girl was happy and well taken care of! I’d give her more than 5 stars if I could!”

“Can’t say enough great things about her. She sent us pictures and videos of our dog all day during our trip. She knows exactly how to take care of them and exercises them as well. Definitely using her again me and my girlfriend appreciate it!”

“Amy was wonderful taking care of our dog! It was our first time boarding her anywhere so I was a little anxious but I didn't have to worry at all. Amy gave consistent updates and our dog had an absolute blast! I could tell she was very loved. We will be booking again next time we go on vacation!”

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the care that Duke received. He adjusted well with your care and he was our happy little guy when we got him home. For sure if and when we need someone to care for him you will be the first to be contacted. It was such peace of mind to see pictures and know he was cared for. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!”

“Elezah was great! Our babies were well taken care of and seemed really happy in the pictures she sent us. I am additionally grateful for her care of my elderly dog, Pepper, who needs meds and gentle care. I will use her service again in the future and recommend her highly.”

“Kolleen was absolutely amazing. She goes above and beyond and made our Zoe feel right at home. We’ve had many great boarders but I do believe Kolleen has been the best—-from taking our Zoe to the vet for us and even helping us locate someone to transport our pet for us. I highly recommend Kolleen!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
