âBlaze is absolutely THE BEST! I needed someone last minute and she was available and took amazing care of my dog. He helped her do all the fam chores this morning, met a bunch of new animals and loved her kids. Would recommend 1000%â

About: Hi! I have 5 years of experience walking dogs of all sizes, especially small and medium breeds. Your dogâs safety and comfort are always my top priority, and I make sure every walk is both fun and secure. I work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to easily incorporate pet care throughout my day. Iâm able to take dogs out for walks, provide regular potty breaks, feed them on time, and give them attention and play as needed. Because Iâm home most of the day, I can closely monitor their safety, comfort, and overall well-being, making sure they get consistent care and companionship. Safety, trust, and a calm environment are always my top priorities. I make sure pets are supervised, secure, and comfortable at all times, whether in my home or a clientâs home. I follow each petâs routine closely, including feeding, walks, and any specific care instructions. I keep spaces clean, remove any potential hazards, and provide a safe, stress-free environment. I also give regular updates so you can feel confident your pet is well cared for.
About: Hi! Iâm Terrell, you can call me Tee, your go-to pet caretaker with a passion for all animals big and small. Beyond dogs, I have experience with cats, goats, chickens, and more! I love spending time with each pet, understanding their personalities, and giving them the specific care they need. From playful puppies to gentle goats, Iâm here to keep your animal family happy, healthy, and loved. Reach outâIâd love to meet your crew! Iâm currently working part-time and live on a farm surrounded by animals, so I have a flexible schedule thatâs all about caring for animals! Iâm available for boarding if the situation is right, and am more than happy to do drop in visits or walks. Iâm always excited to bring a bit of the farmâs lively energy to every pet I meet! Living on a farm gives me a deep respect for animalsâ unique needs and routines. I have a secure, fenced yard and plenty of space for playtime. If boarding at my farm is the right fit for your pet, theyâll get a taste of peaceful farm life. Otherwise, Iâm happy to come to your home so your pet can feel safe in their familiar space.
âDeborah and John are so kind and amazing at communication. They send photos and videos of Rocket the whole day. I also appreciated if they were unsure about something they reached out and asked which made me so comfortableâ

About: Kevin and I have both been caring for dogs and many other types of animals for our entire lives and absolutely couldnât envision our life without several animals. Kevin has grown up around a family dog business - participating in AKC scent trials, agility training, boarding and almost any other type of dog event & training you can imagine. Iâve had cats and dogs my entire lifetime and used to help foster kittens as a child and teenager. We currently have two dogs, several cats, chickens, turkeys and more. Your animals will be in safe and caring hands with us! We both work but set our own schedules and/or work from home so your dog will rarely, if ever, be left alone. Since we have animals of our own, caring for additional pets is not a problem and part of our normal lifestyle. We have a large fenced dog run outside, in home kennel area, along with crates for crate trained dogs. Our property is about 5 acres and fully fenced with front gates so dogs cannot leave the area. We also have a couple large lawns we use for doggy playtime, fetch and training sessions.
About: I grew up on a dairy raising various types of farm animals and have land for them to run around and get plenty of exercise and fresh air. I also have a working service dog, so I have had experience in basic obedience training and see animals as more than just pets. My German/Aussie shepherd mix loves helping other dogs learn and is a peacemaker to any guests. Learning about other breeds and seeing what makes them special or unique is one of my favorite things about what I do. I am in and out of the house working on the farm or just hanging with them all day! Never more than a couple hours without seeing me! Perfect for your dog to be close to town but far enough away from the 4th of July fireworks. We have a big fenced yard, behind another large gate from the road so the space is secure. There are two house hats and my service dog Willow.

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I cared for my own deaf English Bulldog for 10 years, learning how to communicate through touch, patience, and consistency. I also cared for my senior black Lab with hip issuesâgiving gentle massages and modifying our walks so we could still enjoy time together safely. Over the years, Iâve had experience with dogs, cats, birds, and fish, and I genuinely love being around animals of all kinds. Iâm confident administering medications, tending to wounds, and giving extra care to both puppies and senior pets. Every animal is unique, and I take the time to understand their needs so they feel safe, loved, and at homeâeven when youâre away. When picking up or dropping off your fur baby, plan on no later than 5:00 PM Pet care is a priority in my daily routine. I keep a flexible schedule that allows me to give your pets the time and attention they need. Whether Iâm caring for your pet in your home or mine, their safety and comfort always come first. I take the time to get to know each petâs routine, personality, and needs so they feel secure and cared for. I follow all instructions carefullyâfrom feeding schedules to medicationsâand I keep your home clean and respected while youâre away. I create a calm, positive environment, paying close attention to body language and behavior to ensure your pet feels relaxed and safe. I always double-check gates, leashes, and doors, and I never leave pets unsupervised in unsafe situations. You can trust that your pet will be in good hands, receiving gentle care and genuine affection every step of the way.
âFlorence is the best!!! She took amazing care of my boy Milo. She also sent us lots pictures throughout the day. It was such a great experience, we will definitely be taking Milo back to hang out with Florence and her pups.â

About: With 13 years of experience caring for a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, and horses. I also bring 9 years of experience working in a small animal veterinary hospital as a Registered Vet Tech. I am focusing on pet-sitting as my primary occupation at the moment. My daily routine begins with feeding the dogs and horses, followed by a morning walk around the property. Throughout the day, I allow them to play in the yard, giving them the opportunity for exercise and enjoyment. In the afternoon, to facilitate some quiet time, I either give a puzzle toy or a no-hide chew treat, and we conclude the day with dinner and a final walk before bedtime. I offer boarding services in my home on a fully fenced 5-acre property. The space includes a small fenced-in dog yard, as well as a fence around the front area. I have automatic dog bowls outdoors that provide filtered water and are cleaned often. Additionally, I provide multiple dog beds for comfort. At night, I prefer all dogs to sleep in cages, so I have a designated room with cages for that purpose. I also have one bed available outside, with the option to add more beds if needed. All the dogs in my care are friendly and sociable with each other, and I only accept house-trained dogs that are good with other dogs.
âJessica and her family were absolutely amazing with Marley! đž They treated him like one of their own from the moment he arrived. He even got to go on a car ride (which he loves!), enjoyed a few walks including a bonus third walk! and received so much love and snuggle time from the kids. It was clear he was in heaven the entire time. He came home happy, relaxed, and very calm tonight⌠which all the doodle moms and dads know is not the usual doodle energy level đ Iâm so grateful for the care and attention they gave him. We would absolutely book with Jessica and her sweet family again! đâ

âRekha is very caring and made me feel comfortable leaving my puppy in her care. He is usually timid; however, he took an immediate liking to her. She took him for a walk and gave him lots of attention. I will definitely rebook her again!â

âJillian has watched our dog many times and it's always a wonderful experience. She sends lots of pictures and updates throughout the day. She's always our first choice for a Rover sitter.â

âJune is the best! Bella spent the day with June and her dog Ceaser. Bella is a special needs dog and June knew just how to work with her to make her feel comfortable. June made sure to keep me posted and updated on Bella throughout her stay. She sent lots of pictures so I could see how she was doing. Her dog Ceaser was great with Bella too. Bella has become very attached to June. She also loves Ceaser, her new gentle giant friend. I strongly recommend June if youâre looking for a very responsible caring sitter for your pup. I know Bella is in good hands with June, and will be using her as our sitter in the future.â

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,378 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Herald. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your petâwhether thatâs early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Herald commute.
If your schedule changes, itâs best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dogâs fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0â7 kilograms and/or 7â18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pupâs socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dogâs pack, check the sitterâs profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,378 sitters in Herald, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
