“Cypress was great with our cat! She checked on everything during the visit and sent us photos and updates which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Our cat seemed comfortable with her and we really appreciated how reliable she was. We would definitely book with Cypress again!”

“Celina was fantastic in every way! Sent adorable photos and her daily "story". On time, responsible, and caring. My very feisty female feline fell in love with her-- highly recommend five stars.”

“Brianna is so kind and caring with my pets. They are medically fragile and she always does great taking care of them and their extra needs. I can always count on her to provide excellent care. My dogs and cats adore her and I can tell she has a lot of experience by how she interacts with them. She is soo friendly and our meet and greet was breeze. I couldn’t recommend her as someone to watch your pets and your home enough. We love you Bri! <3 Waffles, Bellie Button, Ron, and Mika 😘”

“Olivander does outstanding work! He is thorough, good at communication and truly cares about animals. I’ve worked with him a couple times now and I am always impressed.”

“It was great to work with Kate during the time she cared for our pet rabbit over the week we were away. She was very responsive and communicative, following all care instructions without issue. We know our bun was happy to have a visitor twice a day! Kate also helped out with a few household items while we were away which was very helpful and appreciative. We look forward to working with her again.”

I love providing plenty of cuddles, playtime, walks, attention, and of course, lots of love. 🐾💕 I work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be available for pet visits throughout the day! 🐾💕 I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine and provide the walks, potty breaks, playtime, and cuddles they need while you’re away. 🐶🐱 I provide loving, attentive care while keeping each pet’s normal routine as consistent as possible. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I focus on making pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for through plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and cuddles. 💕

About: Hi there! We’re lifelong dog lovers with over 18 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Our home is full of love — we currently have three dogs of our own, including two “foster fails” that completely stole our hearts. We also continue to foster whenever needed because caring for animals has always been something we’re passionate about. Over the years, we realized that even dogs with wonderful homes sometimes need extra love and care while their families are away. That’s why we decided to open our home to boarding and pet care through Rover — so your pets can feel safe, comfortable, and treated like family while you’re gone. We understand how important trust is when leaving your pet in someone else’s care, and we pride ourselves on creating a warm, calm, and loving environment. Whether your pup loves playtime, cuddles, walks, or simply relaxing on the couch, we tailor our care to their individual needs and routines. Your dog won’t just be watched — they’ll be welcomed into our family. 🐶💕 My partner and I both work part-time schedules, which allows us to be very flexible and available throughout the week, especially full-time on weekends. We intentionally alternate our schedules so that someone is almost always home with our pets — and yours! Because of this, your pet will receive plenty of attention, companionship, potty breaks, playtime, and care throughout the day. We’re rarely away from home for more than 2–4 hours at a time, so frequent potty breaks, feeding schedules, medication routines, and consistent affection are never an issue. We understand how important it is for pets to feel comfortable, supervised, and loved while their owners are away, and we work hard to create a calm, safe, family-style environment where they can feel right at home. We provide a safe, loving, and structured environment where pets are treated like family. Our home is pet-friendly, clean, and closely supervised throughout the day since one of us is almost always home. We have experience caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines, including foster dogs and rescue animals. We are happy to accommodate feeding schedules, medications, crate training, and special care instructions if needed. Pets will receive frequent potty breaks, exercise, playtime, affection, and a comfortable place to relax. We also prioritize slow introductions and monitoring to ensure all pets feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free while in our care.
“Adara is very professional, friendly, and reassuring — a fabulous set of qualities for just what we needed: a reliable cat-friend to check up on two different kitties. 1000% will book again!”

“Emily was very caring and try her best to be flexible for my last min request. She is very responsible when it comes to care my cat while I’m gone and share with me of my cats behavior to avoid any possible issues. I appreciate her to above and beyond as I love my cat. Will definitely look for Emily to care my cat again and highly recommended! :)”

About: Small Groups, Big Attention: Personalized Walks for Your Dog With over 20 years of dog care experience, I bring a real understanding of dogs to each walk. What makes my walks different: 🐾 Max 2 dogs at a time. Your dog gets genuine attention, not a spot in a pack. I notice their mood, energy, and cues, every walk. 🐾 Paced to your dog, not the clock. Some days call for a slow sniff walk—letting them read every scent on the block. Other days they need to burn energy with a brisker pace. I adjust in the moment based on what your dog actually needs, not a one-size-fits-all route. 🐾 20+ years of hands-on experience. I've cared for dogs of multiple ages, breed, and temperament—from anxious rescues to high-energy puppies to easygoing seniors. That experience means I can read a dog quickly and respond calmly to whatever comes up. What you can expect: Photo/video updates from the walk GPS-tracked routes Consistent, reliable scheduling A walker who treats your dog like an individual, not a job on a list If you want a walker who slows down when your dog needs to sniff and speeds up when they need to run, let's talk about your pup. I run my business from home. My schedule is flexible. Your pup will get walks and a loving companion. Dogs are my true love and I absolutely adore spending time with them. I have a large fenced yard as well as a dedicated indoor area for pups. Your pup will be able to sit on the sofa with us and snuggle. My pup Bernie loves making friends. They will keep busy
“Talon was a thorough pet sitter. She was detailed in ensuring the hygiene, activity, food/drink, and med needs of eat dog and cat. In addition to other additional pet care instructions, she kept me updated of the pets’ health status and that their needs were being met. She asked questions when she didn’t know something clearly and ensured my home was safe and secure. Thank you for the Meet and Greet and for the excellent care!”

About: Mike and I both grew up with childhood dogs and have experience taking care of both cats and dogs for friends and neighbors. We both have experience with feeding, walking, bathing, brushing, and playing with dog and cats. I am a graduate student with a structured weekly routine, and Michael tag-teams evening and weekend care with me. Because of my flexible campus schedule, I can use your home as my study "home base" during the day. This means your pets get large, dedicated blocks of companionship, routine care, and attention right when they need it most! I am an early riser and can arrive by 7 am for morning mealtime, playtime and potty. I can also provide afternoon and evening check-ins. Typically we will handle dinner feedings, pop back home briefly for our own mealtime and self-care and then check back in for a long block of evening attention and potty break before the end of the day. To ensure safety and trust, we will be communicating with pet owners, following care instructions, making sure your pet is getting proper attention, activity and mental stimulation. Also, sending lots of adorable pictures of your pets so you can see how much fun they are having!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
