“Karen is amazing! She took care of "Bala" (our tiny Chihuahua) for more than a week, and "Bala" felt at home. She sent us pictures everyday and gave us a mini review of her daily routine that gave us a lot of comfort. We feel very happy that she stayed in good hands and would love to contact her in the future. Karen has a lot of experience with small breeds.”

“Oliver has been there twice. He was very excited when he saw the house the second time and knew he was going back there. Jordan has always communicated with me very well and been very flexible with arrangements”

“Teresa was wonderful. Kind and thoughtful to make sure our Maggie had a good time. Even a new friend in Snickers. Perfect experience. Thank you Teresa. Will reach out again.”

“Jacob is a wonderful pet sitter. He took care of my two cats and kept me updated with pics and notes about how they were doing. One of my cats’ had trouble adjusting but he encouraged her everyday to come out of her safe place. She finally came out on the last day. So I will definitely use him again. By the way he took my cats in an emergency situation and contacted me right away. Thank you to Rover, but mostly a huge shout out and thank you to Jacob.”

About: I have been providing pet care personally and professionally since I was in high school. When I started, I genuinely just loved being around animals and wanted a way make an income while doing something I enjoyed. Years later and I still hold the same sentiment. My family and I have always welcomed dogs and cats into our homes and cared for them as additional kids in the household. I took a break from pet care to focus on building myself and my goals, but now as a homeowner of three years, I want to extend my home and services again to your fur babies. I work full-time, 100% remotely from home for a law firm located in Pennsylvania. I am always at home, especially during the weekdays, with my five pets. I have a flexible schedule and can arrange my work day accordingly. I am able to work with you and your pet's needs, so just communicate with me! I have a 0.3 acre fenced yard that my two dogs absolutely love to race around in. They get great exercise out there and are able to release their high energy. I am attuned to my animal's needs and provide a lot of supervision and care since I am usually at home. The same way that I would treat my own pets/home is exactly how I would treat and respect yours. I am reliable, punctual, and compassionate.
“Catherine is amazing!!!!!!! My baby had a ball she was so tired when we got home. It’s so hard to find people good with bigger dogs. She is our new dog sitter for sure. You won’t be disappointed.”

“Lauren was very sweet and did great with our dog, I contacted her on a short notice and she was able to accommodate us. Lauren sent us pictures everyday and kept us updated.”

“Laura took excellent care of our pup! I could tell that she was cared for as part of their family. Laura provided daily photo updates so we knew she was cared for. I would highly recommend and will use her again!”

“Asia was so sweet and professional. When we first arrived Asia and her fur baby Crypto welcome us. Asia made my lil boy (Biskit) feel so at home. I asked Asia to send me text, pictures, and videos, and she did just that. That really made my heart fill of joy to see pictures and videos of my lil boy(Biskit) and to know that he was well taken care of. We thank you so much Asia from the bottom of our hearts 💕 Sylvia and Antwon Dudley.”

“Lauren did a great job taking care of my dog while I was out of town. She kept me updated nearly every day and communication was quick. When I picked up my dog he was in great spirits and I could tell he was well cared for. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of dog care or boarding.”

“Misty and John take wonderful care of my pup! This was his second time staying with them and he was so excited when we walked up to their front door. Thank you both!!!”

“I was very scared to leave my fur baby with someone for the very 1st time but Ms Chelsea did an awesome job with my Lexi. I will be using her again in the future. Thanks for all the luv n care given to Lexi”

“Michael is friendly, competent, and very organized. He kept me up to date with Hunter's health and activity almost every day. I recommend him highly and will use his services again should the need arise. ”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since 2008. I taught our miniature pincer and chihuahua mix named Rosie how to sit, jump, and rollover. My present-day dog named Bunny, she is the sweetest dog in town. I’ve taught her how to low-five for treats, lay on my legs during Sunday naps, and keep to herself on walks (she’s a very social dog). Wake up, let the dog(s) out, feed them breakfast, and wipe their feet if it is muddy out. Let them out during lunch and feed them lunch, then let them out again after work (4pm). Feed them dinner, then let them out again around 9pm before bed. I work from home full-time, so these tasks are consistently met. In my own home, I stick to the schedule outlined above. In somebody else’s home, I would also stick to a schedule that has been provided by the owner.

“Tre’Ana was an excellent host and worked with me on times and dates. Would recommend her to anyone!! My Hazel was definitely taken care of and so happy when I picked her up.”

“We had an incredible experience with Quia’s furry friends. Our sweet pup Ruby was very timid and anxious to be at a dog sitters and Quia went above and beyond to care for Ruby and make her comfortable. Quia also kept me up to date with over a dozen photos and videos letting me know how Ruby was acclimating and assuring me of all the steps she was taking (assuring Ruby with extra treats and pets, taking her on walks and outtings, playing a recording of my voice for Ruby when she was unsure). Quia was obviously very experienced and knew the perfect approach to helping our dog feel comfortable and safe in a new environment!! We cannot recommend Quia enough and she will definitely be our go-to if we need a dog sitter again.”

“Keith took great care of my puppy Apollo while I was on vacation in Mexico. Apollo can be quite a handful and Keith seemed to handle all of his little behavioral quirks very well. I felt comfortable leaving Apollo there, even when I was out of the country and difficult to contact.”

“Christy was fantastic! She has great dog energy and was very communicative. I loved having updates, pictures and videos, so I always knew my dog was safe and happy. I will definitely be contacting her again in the future ☺️”

“My dogs had another great experience with Melanie for 5 days when I went on vacation. They love it there and her other dogs. The videos and photos she sent each day of my dogs made me feel happy to see them playing and relaxing at her house. Melanie is great, and I’m so happy I found her.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hazelwood
Sarah was so good with our dogs.. it was their birthday weekend when we left them She gave them a party with cake and ice cream as well as celebrating the 4 th of July with them sending daily pics of all events… not only was she great she trimmed their nails and she took our ooking last minute…I would definitely recommend her because beyond all the compliments she loves animals…..10/10 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and a huge 👍🏾 she was great….

Copper had a wonderful stay over the holiday weekend! She was incredibly responsive and kept us updated with messages and lots of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious Copper was well cared for and having a great time. We came home to a happy, relaxed pup, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter!

Olaf can be quite a handful. He gets along with other dogs and people but is very active and can get into things if you are not looking. I got updates from Katie and Olaf came home with no new quirks, he seemed very happy and actually slept past 5:30 am which I will try to keep up.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
