I really appreciate Samantha helping my boy on a last minute notice over the holiday weekend. I was out of town and she was nice enough to feed him and clean up his accident without asking. It was more than just a walk. I would recommend her services if you need someone to look after your dog. I hope to hire her in the future.

Shannon was great with our dogs. He realized that the girls are a bit shy when meeting new people and didn’t try and force them to be immediately ok with him. We look forward to continuing having Shannon help us out with walks here and there.

About: Growing up we had 17 golden retrievers. 14 of them were puppies. I now have two of my own and love to be around them. My family has been involved in training. I also worked at 2 different animal hospitals where I was a kennel technician. I have 2 daughters . Currently I am going backed to school to become a dog trainer. I am always available and try to accommodate in any way I can. I appreciate hanging out with animals and doing everything I can for them. I am CPR certified for dogs. Me and my children enjoy animals so if we aren’t doing school work, or helping other animals I am outside training or practicing with my dogs. I have a fenced in yard so my dogs and I are always outside playing. They love to play with the toys and run. We practice training a lot of the time.

About: Hi! I’m a reliable and caring pet lover who treats every pet like family. I have experience with dogs and cats of all sizes and personalities, and I’m happy to help with walks, feeding, playtime, even over nights all while giving lots of love while you’re away. I’m dependable, attentive, and always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’d love to meet your furry friend! I currently work from home so it’s easier for me to naturally fit pet care into my daily routine. I plan my schedule so I can give pets the attention they deserve—whether that’s morning and evening walks, feeding times, playtime, or just keeping them company. I’m used to building my day around making sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for, and I’m happy to adjust my routine to meet each pet’s individual needs. When caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I follow the pet’s usual schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest, and make sure they get plenty of attention and affection. I keep a clean, safe environment and always watch for any changes in behavior or needs. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I also respect their space and follow any specific instructions they provide so their pet feels secure in their familiar environment.

About: I worked at an animal hospital for 9 months. I also went to school to be a zookeeper. I know how to give medications, clip nails, bathe, I will take your pets on walks and play, I will follow all requirements put into place by the owner! My schedule is Monday- Friday, I work 8:30-5:30. On Saturday/Sunday, I work 8-2. I can walk your animals 2x a day. I can check on your animals in the morning and evening if you want me to just visit and feed. I can stay the night as well but I will be gone from your house during those times. I love all animals and will do my best to take care of them while you are away and will always send pictures, every single visit. I follow care instructions to the letter and treat your animal as if it were my own. I medicate my own dog daily for skin allergies and perform nail trims weekly for not only my dog, but my 4 cats as well. I also care for my roommate’s parrot when she is away. I will make sure your animal receives the same love and care you give them while you’re away.

About: I’ve had pets as long as I can remember, and wouldn’t have it any other way. They are the charm of any home!! I would be honored to watch your pet. I currently work from home and have three dogs myself. All very loved and get along great with other animals, including cats!! I am home all day every day and the dogs thrive when we have a guest pet. My house is set up to where I can divide the animals and they’d still be comfortable. I also have a very large 2 acre lot that is completely fenced in.

About: I’m dependable, communicative, and detail-oriented, and I make it a priority to keep pet parents updated with photos and messages so they always have peace of mind while away. I understand that every animal has different needs and personalities, so I take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe, and genuinely cared for instead of treating them like “just another booking.” I’m also comfortable caring for pets with different energy levels and needs, including: * Puppies who need patience, consistency, potty breaks, and structure * Senior pets who may need slower walks, extra comfort, medication reminders, or gentle care * Shy or anxious pets who need time, calm energy, and reassurance * Active dogs who benefit from playtime, walks, and engagement I just moved from New Jersey to St. Augustine. I use to pet sit and walk dogs for my neighbors so looking to build my client list here! I have full time availability. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for like family. I pay close attention to each pet’s routine, personality, energy level, and any special instructions from the owner to help them feel secure while you’re away. In my client’s home, I respect the pet’s normal schedule as much as possible, including feeding times, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications, and bedtime routines. I also provide regular updates, photos, and communication so owners feel connected and reassured.

About: I've been an animal lover ever since I was a kid, so much so that I wanted to be a vet at the age of 5. I grew up with animals in the house (dogs, cats, and fish) and started taking care of them as soon as I was old enough. aside from nannying, my first job was dog walking/sitting and to this day it is still something I enjoy doing. I have 15+ years of experience in dog walking, feeding, safety, and administering medication (pills and topicals, not trained in injections). I love all breeds and am a highly active individual so I hope your furbaby is ready to play! My schedule is mostly open. I’m unavailable on weekdays from 9 am to 1 pm but could potentially squeeze in a quick visit from 8:30-9 if needed. My weekday afternoons and evenings are mostly open. Weekends are usually pretty open as well! I do travel about once a month, but I will be sure to reach out ahead of time and/or block it out in the app. Your pet's safety is my top priority while they’re in my care and I will treat them as if they are my own. that being said, they will have my full attention throughout our visit. in addition, I love taking pictures of the animals I care for so I will be sending updates!

About: Growing up, I've always had animals in the house. Cats, dogs, fish, guinea pigs, bearded dragons— you name it. I've done pet setting during high school, and now that I'm going to college soon, I'd love to help take care of people's pets again! I have the most experience working with cats and dogs, as I have 4 cats and recently had an elder dog for many years. I've volunteered at the humane society for fostering, so I can take care of kittens as well if needed. I have a very open schedule since I just recently graduated. I'm available to come over and check on pets between 9am-9pm any day of the week. I have open availability for house sitting as well, but for more info please feel free to contact me! I always make sure the pets are healthy and happy whenever I see them. I can clean up any messes or accidents they may have made, and I can give medicine in their food or orally. If your pet is a little skittish at first, it's not a problem! I'll let them come to me at their own pace so they won't get scared, and I'll be sure to offer plenty of treats as well.

About: I've had dogs my entire life and have over 8 years of hands-on experience caring for my own German Shepherd, along with my Goldendoodle. Through owning and caring for large, high-energy dogs, I've developed a strong understanding of the exercise, structure, patience, and attention they need to thrive. I'm also a Rover customer myself. I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, dependable, and communicative when leaving your pets in someone else's care. I provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for. I have experience with large dog breeds, high-energy dogs, puppies, and multi-dog households. I'm also comfortable administering oral medications and following specific care instructions to help maintain your pet's normal routine. Because I work from home, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide attentive care during walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting stays. My goal is always to make your pets feel comfortable and cared for while giving you peace of mind when you're away. I treat every pet as if they were my own and look forward to getting to know your furry family members! Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. As I currently work from home and I’m an dog owner, I'm used to structuring my day around walks, exercise, feeding schedules, playtime, and providing consistent care and attention. My flexible schedule allows me to accommodate drop-in visits, dog walks, and house sitting throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets fits naturally into my lifestyle. When caring for pets in a client's home, my top priorities are safety, consistency, and making your pet feel comfortable while you're away. I take the time to learn your pet's routine, including feeding schedules, exercise needs, medications, and any special instructions, so they can maintain the structure they're used to. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pets and home. I treat every home with respect, keep pets securely leashed or contained as instructed, and pay close attention to their behavior and well-being. I'm experienced with large and high-energy dogs and understand the importance of safe handling, exercise, and supervision. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can stay informed and have peace of mind while you're away. My goal is for both you and your pets to feel comfortable, confident, and cared for throughout the entire visit or stay.

About: Experience in distributing oral and injection medications, as well as special dietary needs. Fun- loving personality and an active lifestyle. Experience with show dogs. Experience with pets diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and allergies. Experience with senior dogs experiencing most or complete loss of vision and hearing disabilities. About: What Sets Me Apart I watch and sit for all kinds of dogs, and when I show up, your pet will be happy to see me. Whether your dog is nervous around new people, reactive, or just a little quirky — I’m patient, calm, and fully present. Your pet will be safe, fed, exercised, and genuinely enjoyed. I talk to my dogs like they understand me, play treat-finding games, and a walk on the beach is never out of the question. I’m also experienced caring for dogs on medications — oral, ointment, eye drops — and dogs with special diets. As a retired veteran, I’m home all day. Your pet isn’t a side hustle. They get my full attention, every time. Retirement means I’m home and present — always. My favorite pastime is watching TV with my dog, so your pet isn’t just watched, they’re genuinely kept company. No rushing, no clock-watching. Just real time and real love. Whether I’m welcoming your pet into my home or stepping into yours, the standard of care never changes. At My Home: I have a clean, pet-friendly environment with two dogs of my own to keep yours company. My home is secure — I understand escape artists and take every precaution. Your pet gets couch time, TV time, treat games, and a warm place to rest. They are family here, not a guest.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 1,502 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Hastings. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Hastings. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Hastings.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hastings. On Rover:

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
