About: Hi, My name is Maarten and twenty-nine years ago, I applied for an internship at Artis, a zoo in Amsterdam. As luck would have it, I didn't get the job and life took me in a different direction. Now I am 45 years old and fate has finally delivered me to a spot where I can get back to my childhood dream of working with animals. I grew up in a household filled with animals: dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, rats and parrots. This nurtured a wide knowledge of animal care. Over the years, we've had 9 dogs, all of which I trained myself. At the moment, I am raising a 1.5 year old German Shepherd and a 6 month old BullMastiff mix. I want to say that over the years, dogs have grown especially close to my heart. To be honest, they have completely taken over. At the moment, I work part-time as a kennel attendant for S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue. Although I consider it a dream job, my long-term goal is to open up my own doggy daycare. Approach to Dog Walking: I believe that every dog is unique and deserves the utmost care and respect. I approach dog walking with a big smile and a warm heart. My goal is to create a fun and lively experience for your dog, making each walk a joyful adventure. During our walks, I'll ensure your furry friend's safety and well-being, while also encouraging positive behavior. Wednesday and Thursday I work for S.A.F.E. Animal Shelter. The rest of the week I am available between 08:00 and 15:30. Evening visits can be planned by special request. The safety of your pets and property are my main focus. Before you take me on as your pet profesional we will go over your dog's/cat's strengths and weaknesses to ensure a healthy happy and safe experience.

About: I’ve had pets as long as I can remember, and wouldn’t have it any other way. They are the charm of any home!! I would be honored to watch your pet. I currently work from home and have three dogs myself. All very loved and get along great with other animals, including cats!! I am home all day every day and the dogs thrive when we have a guest pet. My house is set up to where I can divide the animals and they’d still be comfortable. I also have a very large 2 acre lot that is completely fenced in.

About: I’ve volunteered several summers in row washing kennels and food bowls playing with the kittens and post them on social media to help get them adopted. I have two dogs of my own and have taken care of multiple animals at once. I can and will gladly work any day and I will care for your furry family as if they are my own. Your furry friends are safe in my care! However, I do work a 1-10pm job, typical 8 hour shifts! I take my dog for regular walks and to the groomers I brush him daily and make sure he is comfortable in his harness and leash. I am able to effectively use commands that your dog is used to. And can give tips are effective ways of to teach commands and keeping them safe and happy.

The only time that I am unavailable is from 9:30am-3pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, and 8:30am-3pm on Saturdays. So I am available from 6am-9:30am and after 3pm on Mon, Wed-Fri, from 6am-8:30am and after 3pm on Saturday, and all day & night long on Tuesdays& Sundays. Available at or after 3pm and for the rest of the day & night, all 7 days of the week! Can do overnights/ boarding as well😁 Thank you 🤙 I treat every animal as if they were my own child! It's hard enough to be away from their parents at all, so I am just as positive, affectionate, loving and comforting as I can possibly be, so your pets feel comfortable and at peace. I communicate with the pet and/ or homeowner to find out exactly what they expect from me, and always write down all of the specifics of animal care(food & water and frequency, medicines, restrictions, if they go outside or stay inside, things they like or find comfort in like their favorite toy or treat to ensure that feel as much at home as I can make them feel) so I don't forget anything important! I usually reread the list everyday that I'm there, just to be sure not to miss anything. Lastly I always spend the last hour or day cleaning up after myself & the pet, to leave things nicer than I found them. Whether it's taking their trashcan to the road and gathering their mail, along with washing their dishes and making sure the bathroom and kitchen are nice & clean for them to come home to. Or it could be giving the dog a bath if I'm not house sitting as well. Basically if you're going to pay me to do something, I'm going to make it worth your while and be as helpful, clean and efficient as possible! Just a basic rundown in addition to feeding and walking and picking up after said animal, I like to go above and beyond what is expected of me. I reach for the best customer service I can possibly provide, to hopefully create a very happy dog and parents, as well as a repeat customer! If you hire me, you will not regret it! My main focus over the past 5 years has been getting deeper into the training community, working for local organizations and shelters training service dogs for veterans and opening my dog training company, Palms and Paws Dog Training, LLC. I also have experience in insulin injections and medication in both dogs and cats. I work full time Monday - Friday at a nonprofit until 4pm but am available after that until 8pm. Saturday - Sunday are open and available all day until 8 pm. I am married to my wife and currently live in an apartment on the second floor.
