“I really appreciate Samantha helping my boy on a last minute notice over the holiday weekend. I was out of town and she was nice enough to feed him and clean up his accident without asking. It was more than just a walk. I would recommend her services if you need someone to look after your dog. I hope to hire her in the future.”

About: Hi, My name is Maarten and twenty-nine years ago, I applied for an internship at Artis, a zoo in Amsterdam. As luck would have it, I didn't get the job and life took me in a different direction. Now I am 45 years old and fate has finally delivered me to a spot where I can get back to my childhood dream of working with animals. I grew up in a household filled with animals: dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, rats and parrots. This nurtured a wide knowledge of animal care. Over the years, we've had 9 dogs, all of which I trained myself. At the moment, I am raising a 1.5 year old German Shepherd and a 6 month old BullMastiff mix. I want to say that over the years, dogs have grown especially close to my heart. To be honest, they have completely taken over. At the moment, I work part-time as a kennel attendant for S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue. Although I consider it a dream job, my long-term goal is to open up my own doggy daycare. Approach to Dog Walking: I believe that every dog is unique and deserves the utmost care and respect. I approach dog walking with a big smile and a warm heart. My goal is to create a fun and lively experience for your dog, making each walk a joyful adventure. During our walks, I'll ensure your furry friend's safety and well-being, while also encouraging positive behavior. Wednesday and Thursday I work for S.A.F.E. Animal Shelter. The rest of the week I am available between 08:00 and 15:30. Evening visits can be planned by special request. The safety of your pets and property are my main focus. Before you take me on as your pet profesional we will go over your dog's/cat's strengths and weaknesses to ensure a healthy happy and safe experience.
About: Hi there — I'm a lifelong dog lover based in Daytona Beach, FL, with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs through rescue, fostering, and my own home. I'd love to be the person your pup looks forward to seeing. Personal Experience I've shared my home with dogs continuously since 2017, so daily walks, feeding routines, playtime, and all the little quirks of dog ownership are second nature to me. Rescue and Volunteer Experience • Dog walker at Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge — walking shelter dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels. • Dog walker at Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta — comfortable handling large and giant breeds with confidence and calm leash control. • Foster for Bernese Mountain Dog Rescue — providing in-home care, daily exercise, and a safe transition for dogs awaiting adoption. • Foster transport coordinator for Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid-Florida — organizing safe, low-stress transport for dogs on their way to forever homes. What I Bring to Every Walk and Visit • A calm, patient approach with anxious, shy, or high-energy dogs • Strong leash skills and awareness of canine body language • Reliable, on-time arrivals and clear communication with owners • Photo and video updates so you can see your dog enjoying their day • Comfort handling puppies, seniors, and dogs with medical or behavioral needs I am available seven days a week — mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Flexible scheduling for one-time walks, regular routines, or last-minute requests. I treat every dog like my own — whether that means a brisk adventure walk, a sniff-filled stroll, or simply quiet company and a belly rub. Your dog's safety, happiness, and routine are my top priorities.

About: I think dog’s are awesome animals and they are so loyal. I love being around dogs and seeing their true personalities come out. One day I would live to have a dog, but I want to wait until I have a backyard to let them run. I work a 9-5, but I am remote. This gives me flexibility to tend to your animals needs. Animals are like toddlers and need a lot of care and attention. This is an important thing to remember for any animal owner. I will treat any animal as if they are my own. Every animal on this planet deserves to be treated with love and compassion. In time of their owners absence, it is especially important to make them feel safe and loved.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
