“Olivia kept our cat feeling safe, happy, and comfy at home while we were away for over a week! Most definitely recommend booking through her!”

“She was amazing with my two cats. They are a little skittish around new people, but she was patient and they warmed up to her so quickly. One of my kitties has digestive issues and sometimes goes outside the box, and she was amazing with cleaning up, which I didn't even ask of her (my friend was in charge of messes). From the moment she met them, she was warm and excited to see them, which is one of the biggest comforts I can get. Highly recommend her for your pet needs!”

“Caroline was amazing with our cats! She gave timely, detailed updates with pictures. We really appreciated hearing how our pets were doing/feeling. I will absolutely ask Caroline to watch the cats the next time we are out of town!”

“Lisa was great! She came over the week before our trip and met our cat Poof. When we were gone, she sent us pictures and told us how Poof was doing every day. She even stuck around and cuddled with her for awhile. We will definitely use Lisa again!”

“Amazing! Was reliable and updated me right when she was with my two cats. Even was able to get the one who is a bit more skiddish to pet him! Which means a lot.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Arielle! I had to contact her last minute and she went above and beyond my expectations. She was very detailed in her post visit review and was did a great job taking care of my kitties! Highly recommend booking her next time you’re away!”

“Andrea provided excellent care and love for our pup when she checked in on him! She also sent some nice pictures and updates on how he was doing!”

“Jessica was an excellent choice to catsit while we were away for Christmas. She was very communicative and sent tons of pictures each visit. She was also kind enough to take out our trash, bring in the mail, and she kept the litterbox spotless. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!”

“Deborah always shares photos of her time with my boys. Stops by to pick up the key and always friendly!”

“Alisa did a terrific job taking care of my high maintenance cat. Would definitely recommend and employ again!”

“Jen took very good care of our 2 cats with her drop in visits twice a day. One of our cats is diabetic so she has to be fed 12 hours a part and given an injection after the feedings each time. We asked her with very short lead time and she took the time to come to our house so we could meet her and she could meet our cats before the booking. We appreciated this very much.”

“Ashley did a great job taking care of my pet cat. She cleaned the litter box regularly and even cleaned up and got my mail without asking. I highly recommend her!”

“Lydia has catsat for us twice now, and all I can say is that we would recommend her heartily. It’s so nice to be able to leave our cats in the care of such a competent, trustworthy sitter. Lydia makes the whole process worryfree!”

“Amber was great! She did a meet and greet beforehand with us and our parrots. She's personable, communicative, and she showed up when she said she would and sent clear, helpful messages and pictures to ease our mind. Absolutely recommended - thanks, Amber!”

“Michelle did an outstanding job with my cat during my recent out-of-town trip. She was extremely professional and sent great photos of every visit. I highly recommend Michelle and I will definitely be using her to care for my cat during my upcoming trips.”

About: I have experience with a wide variety of dogs, but especially with specials needs, senior, and small and large dogs. My old fur-baby, Jack, was special needs (born with scoliosis) and I did the majority of care for him. He lived to be 17 and a half. I work from home with a relatively flexible schedule. During the weekdays I am available for daycare, pop-ins, walks, and house-sitting. On the weekends I am available for boarding and overnights. I live in an apartment but am very active and can ensure plenty of outside time if desired. My complex also has a large fenced-in dog park area. I have one dog who is very friendly and can keep your dog company and play with. I am available to go to your place as well if prefered.

About: I’ve been caring for pets for family and friends for much of my life but am new to Rover. I have owned my own dog for 5 years now and have learned a ton about having a dog that requires boundaries and maintenance for triggers of his reactivity. I’ve learned patience and am happy to do that for your furry friends as well! I work from home on Mondays and Fridays which gives me the flexibility to leave for drop-in visits throughout the day and after work! Tuesday-Thursdays can also be arranged if your home is near my office - contact me for details! While I’m unable to care for others’ pets in my own home since my pup prefers human friends, I will care for your pet in any way you need in your own home. I prefer homes where I can let your pet out into a fenced yard but am happy to take pets out on a leash if they are leash trained and/or you prepare me for their behavior.

“Summer was great with Grace. Communication was great.”

“Lynsey did a great job for our dogs. She responded quickly and was attentive to their nutrition needs. Thanks again!”

About: Say hello to your energetic and enthusiastic dog/cat lover! No pet is too young, too old, too hyper, or too skittish for me. I’ve been around animals even before I was allowed to have my own; feeding strays and spending time with them. I have 2 cats of my own (Gundham and Cheesepuff) and I’m best buddies with a corgi named Owen and an old man German Pointer named Sammy. I’ve taken care of a range of species from livestock (chickens), fish to exotic indoor pets, such as snakes Guinea pigs, and lizards! I became a certified dog groomer in 2025 from attending the dmacc continuing education program and work fulltime at a grooming salon in west Des Moines. In that class I got a feel for a mixture of personalities and I came to the conclusion that every dog deserves just as much love as the next! I hope to be the next well known dog groomer on the block and my journey to that goal starts here! I’m excited to meet you all! Pets are my priority. I’m usually up around 7-8 am so my cats get fed first thing in the morning. Since I don’t have a filtered water bowl I change out their water twice a day; extra if they get food floaters I their food. While I’m gone they are occupied with toys and YouTube nature videos to keep them company. On the weekends I usually have more time to spend with them and once a month they get full baths! As for my personal schedule I usually have group visits on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, AND FRIDAY and I’m usually available after 12pm for walks and checks in’s. Any overnight stays will be from Friday- Monday. I do start my grooming job on the 21st of this month so my availability may change but will be done so in a timely manner. If you have anymore questions please don’t hesitate to ask! I have 2 cats at home, which while they are independent I always have an eye out for their water and food and I spend plenty of quality time and play with them. Before I leave anywhere I make sure they have all that they need, anything they can get into is sealed/ closed off, and even leave soothing music on. Mainly classical!

“Kendra is a super reliable and caring person. She has a dog of her own that she loves and takes such great care of. She has previously watched my dog when I needed someone to let her out to go potty and she gave her lots of pets and love and sent me cute pictures. Kendra has also helped my sister and sister in law by last minute picking up their dog after their wedding ceremony, driving her home, and feeding/playing with her. She’s very trustworthy and your pet will be in great hands!”

KaTara R.
“I met Ka'Tara through my sister. I had met her a few times previously and so had my dogs as my dogs go everywhere they can with me. When Ka'Tara first met them, she immediately dropped to her knees and got to their level, which they loved. That told me she was very perceptive to little dog care which it's so important to them that new people meet them on their level as it's less intimidating. I was in a tight spot because I'm a single guy and I was going in for cancer surgery. Although she lives somewhere in Des Moines, and I live in Cedar Rapids, Ka'Tara (Kat) happened to have a few days off and was able to take care of my babies while I was incapacitated. So she house sat for me. That is quite a task, not because I have 2 dogs, but also about 300 tropical fish in 24 tanks with different feeding and lighting schedules, and about 400 indoor plants with also very individual lighting and watering schedules. I found out that Ka'Tara is not just a dog and cat lover but a fish enthusiast and a plant worshipper! She was very attentive to my 2 little DOGS. She even took them for walks, which is what they were used to doing before I got sick. I told her that she didn't have to walk them as they had a fenced yard. She even logged their walking distance every day for their "fitness goals." She brought in my mail every day and carefully placed it in rubber bands with the date posted on each bundle with a post-it note. She even did loads of laundry while there that had I had piled up, and replaced some light bulbs that I hadn't been able to reach because I couldn't stretch. None of this was at my request but because loving caring Kat knew I still had a long recovery ahead of me. When I returned home 6 days later, my babies ran to me, happily, but kept running back to her because they love their new buddy Kat! We joked that she was the first "Kat" they ever liked because they hate cats! Coming in the door, I noticed something quite different. The house was immaculate! Much better than I left it 6 days earlier. She had even worked on my plants pruning out the dead leaves, fading blossoms and dried stalks and stems. Which is something that had also been a bit neglected because of my ailments. She said waking up to a house full of plants was like waking up in Shangri-la! She said that if she came to house sit again, she wanted to set up fairies lights among the plants so it would feel like I was falling asleep under the stars. She had noticed the gear and knew I loved to camp. The worst (actually the best) thing since Ka'Tara stayed with my babies, when I yell "CAT", they used to run to the windows and bark ferociously. Now I yell "KAT" and they run to the door happily yapping thinking she is coming through the door! She has come to see me whenever she got to Cedar Rapids. She not only became Dax and Reba's best pal, but she became mine too.”
