“Abby is always so happy to see Jennifer when she comes by - her tail doesn’t stop wagging. I love knowing that Abby is getting taken care of when I’m not around. Jennifer is reliable and timely and takes Abby for a nice, long walk. I trust that Abby is in good hands.”

About: I have always been passionate about animals which led me to work in veterinary medicine. My job is incredibly rewarding, getting to take care of cats and dogs and learn about the intricacies of maintaining their health. I am now working with aquatic animals as well! I am hard working, considerate and always up for a challenge! I have over 2 years of veterinary experience and a year of dog/ cat sitting experience. Hello! I am a former veterinary technician who is now working full time at the mystic aquarium. I would absolutely love to care for your pets in my free time. I am available on my lunch breaks (1 hour), before and after work and on weekends. I am available for dog walking, house calls and house sitting! I am very organized and maintain a schedule within my work and everyday life. I will tailor my time according to your pets needs, making sure they get their walks, meals and enrichment properly in a way that suits them best!
About: Having raised a young, active dog, I’m very comfortable managing high energy, playful routines, and keeping dogs entertained and happy. I understand how essential structured play, regular exercise, and gentle guidance are for younger or spunky pets. You can count on me to give your dog plenty of physical activity, mental stimulation, and lots of cozy affection so they feel right at home! I am a junior at Fairfield University, so I am available whenever I don’t have class and am not doing school work! I am a certified animal-lover and I would love to help make your pet comfortable and happy. As a student and a dog owner, I understand the importance of having a trusted caretaker to help ease your mind when you have to be away from home. Safety and personalized care are my top priorities. I have direct experience caring for a dog with IMHA (Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia), so I am very comfortable and experienced with strict medication schedules, monitoring subtle health or behavior changes, and following precise care instructions. I create a safe, low-stress environment with appropriate enrichment suited to your dog's specific energy levels and medical needs.
“Avery is amazing with our Kaya. She has a friendly, welcoming personality and goes above and beyond. She made sure Kaya had everything she needed, she showed genuine care for our dog. I'm so happy we found this Rover app and found Avery. She was our first dog walker through this app and she helped guide me through the process. We will definitely be calling Avery to help us once she gets back from college. Thank you for being a good human Avery! Kaya can't wait to see you again. 🐶🐾❤️”

“Iyanna and Tatiana were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They had to deal with a couple of obstacles and came through like champs. They are not only polite to us humans, they were great with our almost 15 year old Morkie. Their communication was second to none. We cannot thank them enough. Thank you both for making our lyric so much easier. We hope to see you again soon. ❤️”

“Thank you so much! Appreciate you giving Didion his walk and medicine. He seemed like he did well especially given that he hadn’t met you prior to his walk. Thank you, Dani, for being reliable and trustworthy.”

About: I have loved and taken care of my 3 dogs during the past 10 years since they were puppies. In addition, I have also taken care of my friends' pets while they were traveling. I enjoy spoiling and caring for pets and will make sure they are happy. I'm currently working part-time time and I am available during a variety of times throughout the week to help care for your fur baby. Every day, I feed and walk my dogs in the morning and in the afternoon and spend time playing with them throughout the day. I regularly check if they need anything and make sure they get their medications on time. I will make sure to take care of my client pets in a caring manner similar to my own fur babies and follow all of my client's care instructions
“Our recent experience with Kris and Angelica, who cared for our dogs in our home for five days while we traveled, was excellent. They were responsible, punctual, thorough, caring, friendly, experienced, flexible, and attentive to our dogs’ individual needs. Before our trip, Kris and Angelica came by to meet us and our dogs, which made us feel much more comfortable. We have two large German Shepherds with very different personalities and needs—one is young, energetic, reactive, and challenging to walk, while the other is older, slower, very friendly, and easygoing. Kris and Angelica handled both dogs with care and confidence, and kept them happy and well cared for while we were away. I left detailed instructions for feeding, walking, and daily routines, and they followed everything carefully. Since we rarely travel without our dogs, we were naturally a bit nervous about leaving them. Kris and Angelica made it easy for us to relax and enjoy our trip. They sent frequent updates and photos each day, and whenever questions came up, communication was immediate and easy. I highly recommend Kris and Angelica, and they will absolutely be my first call for future trips when our pups can’t come with us.”

“I had a last-minute need for a dog walker and was lucky to find Sabrina. She arrived on time, took my dog on a nice, long walk, and even went above and beyond by putting my trash can back. Communication was excellent. Highly recommend!”

“Dependable and caring! I recently moved to the area and Kathy has been stopping by to give my pup a walk every day as I ease back into the office after working from home during the pandemic. Kathy is trustworthy and loves my pup and treats her as well as I do and that’s why I highly recommend her. It’s easy for anyone to show up on time, but hard for someone to really give you peace of mind your furry friend is in great hands. Kathy delivers on both!”

About: Hi everyone! My name is Kim A. and I am a passionate animal lover. I have cared for all different animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and even deer for over 50 years. I grew up spending my summer's on my grandfather's ranch, so animal care and the love of animals has been a part of my life since a very young age. I have had eight dogs in my lifetime, from golden retrievers to sheep dogs, to cocker spaniels to cockapoos and more. I've also had a lop eared rabbit, who roamed freely throughout my house and had his own personal fenced in garden! I treat all animals like family, even the wildlife that find their way into my backyard. I will treat your animal as part of my family as well. I cant wait to meet your loving family members! I’m available 24/7 to be with your pet.. when you book with me I only leave the home to get food and to run quick errands. I don’t board pets.I prefer staying in there environment.. it helps with separation anxiety and the pet feels safe while the family is away from home.

About: Grown up with multiple dogs my whole life! Self trained them all and love taking long walks and giving pets! Love hanging around dogs and caring for them. I am currently a student at Fairfield University but can be flexible outside of class time! I have a car so I am also able to drive myself wherever needed. I have a dog which we walk with a leash. I can handle dogs very easily as I’m used to it from growing up with them!

I have lots of experience with different dogs and understand the needs of dogs and owners. I am able to meet any needs or criteria.

“We booked Julie and then woke up to a lot of snow on the morning of the first walk. Despite the deep snow Julie turned up on time and was amazing with our young pup. Who she had walking beautifully in minutes. Raven loves you Julie !”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
