“Nicole is amazing! She sends consistent and frequent communication during walks - and tons of pictures! I will definitely be booking with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone else.”

“It was our first time having Hanaya help us out and she was upbeat and positive from the beginning. She cared for my two CKCS’s like they were her own. She shows a true love for dogs and her experience with them shows. I highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve cared for a wide variety of dogs and cats, including pit bulls, golden retrievers, poodles, senior dogs, and tabby cats. I’ve also cared for pets with medication and dietary needs, including both oral and injectable medications. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. Whether that means a long walk, plenty of play and attention, sticking closely to their feeding routine, or simply giving a nervous or senior pet some extra patience, I’m happy to adapt to their individual needs. I’ll keep you updated with how your pet is doing and treat your pet with the same care and attention I’d want for my own. I currently work evening shifts at my family’s restaurant in Darien, so I’m generally available for pet care during the mornings and afternoons, as well as some evenings. My work schedule does not interfere with housesitting, and I’m able to provide attentive care throughout the day and overnight. For walks and drop-in visits, I’m happy to work around my evening schedule and coordinate times that work best for you and your pet. I have a fenced-in yard and a very docile and friendly golden retriever. She’s 11 and gets along with every animal she meets. When taking care of a pet at client’s homes, I prioritize leaving it in the same or better condition than I found it.
“Iyanna and Tatiana were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They had to deal with a couple of obstacles and came through like champs. They are not only polite to us humans, they were great with our almost 15 year old Morkie. Their communication was second to none. We cannot thank them enough. Thank you both for making our lyric so much easier. We hope to see you again soon. ❤️”

About: Hello! My name is Skyler and I am currently a mammal trainer at an AZA accredited aquarium with a background in veterinary care. I would love to help walk your dog, whether you have certain training goals or just needing extra help while you are at work! I started my career by walking my friend’s crazy, (but adorable) puppy in high school. I was able to help train the puppy during every walk, and left her tired out when her owner got home. I am off two of the busiest days of the week- Monday and Tuesday. I have full availability to do drop ins, daycare, or dog walks! I have an unfenced yard and plenty of grass out front. I take frequent trips to my local park that has tons of room to play.
“Josh is everything you want in a dog walker. He is 100% reliable and he communicates often and promptly. And of course he loves pets and he will make sure that your pet is extremely well cared for. If you have any special instructions Josh will adhere to them perfectly. So if you hire Josh you will know that your pet is in excellent hands and you can have total peace of mind.”

About: Dogs have always been much more than pets to me they’re genuinely one of my biggest interests. Along with caring for my own dog, I have professional experience working at a dog boarding facility, where I gained hands-on experience caring for dogs with different personalities, needs, routines, and energy levels. I’m especially interested in canine wellness, enrichment, and nutrition. With my own dog, I enjoy making homemade treats, preparing enrichment activities, and finding creative ways to keep him happy, active, and engaged. I bring that same level of attention to the dogs I care for. Whether I’m walking your dog, checking in, or staying with them, I want their time with me to actually add something positive to their day not just meet the bare minimum. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to make plenty of time for pet care throughout the week. I’m happy to work around your pet’s usual routine for walks, feeding, playtime, and check ins. I can also discuss specific times and availability depending on what you and your pet need. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, especially in your own home. I’ll always follow any instructions you provide regarding feeding, walks, medications, boundaries, or routines. I’m attentive to changes in behavior and will make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away.
“Alexis came in for two weeks on last minute notice. She was extremely reliable, communicative and hard-working. Frankie clearly loved her as well from the photos we received. Highly recommend!”

About: I grew up in a household where my grandmother was a licensed animal rehabilitation specialist who cared for injured and orphaned wildlife. Being raised around her work gave me the opportunity to learn from an early age how to safely and patiently interact with animals with different needs, personalities, and temperaments. I became familiar with the importance of proper feeding, cleaning, sanitation, observation, handling, and maintaining consistent care routines. I also grew up caring for and living alongside a variety of domestic animals, including cats, dogs, and reptiles. I’m currently employed part time, so I have plenty of time to take care of and love pets in every way possible. With my experience I assure you the best care. I have a fenced in back yard with a friendly older female dog and a fluffy indoor kitty named Chewbacca and we all get along with new friends to care for.
“Dependable and caring! I recently moved to the area and Kathy has been stopping by to give my pup a walk every day as I ease back into the office after working from home during the pandemic. Kathy is trustworthy and loves my pup and treats her as well as I do and that’s why I highly recommend her. It’s easy for anyone to show up on time, but hard for someone to really give you peace of mind your furry friend is in great hands. Kathy delivers on both!”

“Kate is amazing with our dogs. They are always excited to see her. She is great on walks with them and has the best pictures. She is always able to help last minute as well. We are very happy to have Kate help our dogs.”

The median cost per walk for dog walking in Darien is $25

Alexis was so great with my dog while I was away. She coordinated with my MIL whose house he was staying in. She was very attentive to his health and safety. Most importantly my dog was always so excited to see her for his walks. I would absolutely love to work with her again - kind and trustworthy!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
