“Cystal is our favorite. She and Snow adore each other. Its always makes me feel safe when Cystal watches him. Jackie the cat visits her too. She updates me, sends pics, and offers dog training tips.”

“Melanie has been a very reliable sitter for Bear. She’s been very flexible and showed up last minute when I really needed someone to help with him. I always come home to a happy puppy, highly recommend!”

“Samantha provided drop in visits for our 3 cats while we were away on vacation. She was super friendly, reliable and an excellent communicator. She was also accommodating to our specific requests and we were able to relax knowing that our cats and house were in amazing hands while we were away. We will not hesitate to book Samantha again in the future.”

“Jessica did an excellent job checking in on my cat while I was out of town. She provided lots of photos and videos of her visits, and went above & beyond to help modify the booking when my plans changed at the last minute. I appreciated all her help and would happily book with Jessica again!”

About: I love going on walks with the pets and treat them as my own. I have experience with small and big dogs, and some that need extra care. I am available daily to dog walk or dog sit in someone’s home. Also free on the weekends all day. Weekdays- early a.m. until 3pm Weekends- all day I make sure to stick to their schedule and treat them like my own. Love to play, walk, give them belly rubs/groom and go to the dog park.

About: I grew up caring for a Maltese and a cat and now own two Belgian Malinois mixes. I’m experienced with high-energy dogs, daily walks, mental stimulation, and maintaining consistent routines. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m available mornings, evenings, and weekends, and I’m reliable about schedules, walks, feeding times, and consistent daily care. I treat every pet as my own, with a strong focus on safety, supervision, and comfort. I carefully follow all care instructions, maintain a clean and secure environment, respect your home, and will provide updates for peace of mind.

About: My love of dogs led me to start a dog walking business when I was only 10 yrs old. Once I finally convinced my parents to get a dog, I was 15 and we ended up with two bichon-malteses who were the loves of my life. As an adult, my career has me traveling frequently so I haven’t become a pet owner, but I continue to dogsit for friends and neighbors because I love the companionship when I’m home. I am committed to providing your dog a comfortable home away from home where they will be well cared for and loved. I work from home Mondays and Fridays so can be available for care for a long weekend (Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon). My availability may be limited based on work travel. I live in a dog friendly building, where there is greenery and walking paths around the building for daily walks and enjoy going for longer walks in nearby parks.

About: I’ve grown up with pets my whole life — four dogs, a cat, hamsters, and even reptiles, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of animals and personalities. Since I was 10 I’ve taken care of neighborhood dogs, from quick walks to full days of care while owners were away. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every pet like my own. I’m currently home for the summer with a flexible schedule, so I can offer consistent care — whether it’s a single walk, daily drop-ins, or a longer house sit. I always leave the home exactly as I found it. I’m currently home for the summer with a flexible part-time schedule, so I have plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, or boarding. I’m generally available afternoons, evenings, and weekends, and can often accommodate short-notice requests as well. I’m not able to host pets at my own home, so I focus on drop-in visits, walks, and house sitting at the owner’s home. When caring for pets in their own environment, I follow the owner’s routines and instructions closely, make sure all doors and gates are secure, and keep a close eye on the pet at all times to ensure their safety and comfort.
About: Had dogs all in my life since I was a child and took care of them through every stage of their lives. They were special additions to our active military family, fabulous, loyal companions and teachers adding an incredible richness to my life as I was able to add to theirs. Dogs help us and are special gifts from God. They are our assigned four-legged guardian angels helping us to unravel the mysteries of life and teaching us how to really love. I am semi-retired doing part-time swim instruction and have a sole proprietorship specializing in consulting for low-voltage Wifi, surveillance camera, access control installations, advanced fitness/longevity training and home improvement handyman projects along with hobbies in investment research and writing. I enjoy some gardening, plus doing updates on the house and vehicle maintenance. I have past US military training as a Master Fitness Trainer and corporate, as well as, small business IT/technical experience. I have a beautifully fenced in backyard that is regularly mown and maintained and semi-organically managed to keep it healthier for dogs than a typically perfectly manicured "Chemlawn." I still pull a lot of weeds by hand, but it's safer for my puppies, that way. They're well worth the effort. 😉Our family has a 7-stage reverse osmosis water system including a natural alkalyzing dispenser to assure great tasting safe drinkable water for all here in this homestead. I grew up in an active military medical family with various dogs from a Lhasa Apso, Shepherd mix, Terrier mix, Golden Retriever, Springers, Border Collie and a Rottweiler. I'm comfortable with many breeds and am a Cesar Millan fan. My wife and I both grew up with dogs throughout our lives and our little Morkie and Maltese are current regular priorities as our furry dog children. We experience much enjoyment daily as we care for our animal family and friends. Let's seize the day, "Carpe diem" and unpack the gift of every day that God so graciously grants to each one of us in this miracle on earth we experience, called life.
About: Playing with them, taking them for walks and giving them lots of love is part of my experience. I love working with them and making them feel safe with me. Working with animals is my passion. I feel that they are part of my life, that they are essential, they are part of our families and they deserve to be loved and respected. I am responsible for their care and feeding. I like to take them for walks. It is very essential for them to give them love and affection. Playing with them is part of their environment.
“I felt very comfortable going out of town and leaving my new cat in Kathy's care. He's very shy but she managed to see him. There was good communication and I found her to be very caring.”

About: I've had 3 cats and 2 dogs. My current dog is 13. They've all lived a long, happy life. I would be happy to share my love with animals other than my own. Working part-time allows me time to spend with my dog as well as others. I can accomodate any time Monday-Thursday and limited times Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Whether for the work day or a vacation, I understand that it is stressful to leave your animal alone. I will treat your pets and home as if they were my own. Let's chat to see if we are a good fit.
“Ginger is such a great dog sitter! She was communicative about her visits with our pup and spent lots of time petting and playing with her. We would definitely recommend Ginger and plan on booking with her again in the future!”

“I was a bit hesitant leaving her with anyone, BUT SHANNIA is fantastic with my English Bulldog! She has a right shoulder injury and Shannia picks my dog up (weighing 54 lbs) up and downstairs! She wipes her 🐾 really good! She is amazing”

About: I am an animal lover through and through! I grew up with both cats and dogs and now have a British longhair and 2 rescue kitties who are everything to me and a few adorable niece and nephew pups. Outside of my own and my family's pets, I have always helped out with friends, family, and neighbor's pets whether on vacation or just have a longer day out of the house. I love to go on long walks and play with dogs and am also very familiar with the complexities of cats and getting them to play and/or eat. I would love to help out with your pets and look forward to hearing about their needs! I work from home M-F and am around most weekends so I am flexible to get out for a drop-in visit or walk during the day or evening! Our pets deserve to always be happy, whether their person is busy or not! I would be happy to check in on your pets or get them out for a walk during the day, depending on their needs. We can take a walk around your neighborhood or head to a local park or beach if they like to play with other dogs!

Kevin & Ana are a great team. My dogs warmed up to them very quickly. They gave the full attention to both my energetic jack Russell Terrier and my old timer 12yr old pitbull. This was our second booking and my dogs are sure looking forward to seeing them again.
Daniel was the absolute BEST! We could not have asked for a better dog watcher. My family and I were away, leaving our pups alone for the first time. Daniel was super reassuring before, during and even after his time with us. He is very responsive to messages, sends check in messages with every visit and even did some extra efforts to make sure our pups felt comfortable. 10/10 recommend.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Darien with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
