“Katie took great care of our pup when we were out of town. It was obvious during the meet and greet that she’s very knowledgeable with dog care, and the photos from her time with our dog show a very happy pet!”

“Zayn was so communicative and kind to the kitties I felt very safe with her watching them!! She sent lots of pictures and updates and I would definitely have her watch them anytime! :)”

About: Who's a good dog? All of them. My step-dog is the love of my life, and I'm the person who talks to animals more than humans at a party. I have experience with: Dogs, cats, fish, rodents, horses, chickens, other birds, reptiles, and more. As a former field biologist, I handled a wide variety of animals and completed Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) training. I'm open to caring for almost any critter. Send me a message so we can discuss what your critter needs. New-ish to Rover. Previously, all my clients were by word of mouth in extreme southern Maine and New Hampshire. We recently moved, and I decided it was time to join Rover. My schedule is variable, so just message me so we can discuss what your critter needs. This summer I have lots of availability. Thank you! I am currently not taking client's pets into my own home. I am open to a variety of conditions for home visits/walks/play dates/check-ins. Just send me a message so we can discuss your set up and what your critter needs.

“Christine provided excellent service from start to finish! She was always responsive, communicative, and genuinely kind and attentive to our pets. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

About: Hello! I am a graduate student looking to give pups some love in my free time. My parents started their own dog daycare, lodging, grooming and training center that will be 15 years in business this summer. For over a decade I spent my school breaks and many weekends helping out will all things dogs so I have quite a bit of experience including training! I also have my own pup, Nova! I am in a full time graduate program so my availability may change week-to-week but I will be available for a few hours each weekend day at the very least! I have experience with dogs who like to pull a bit and/or like to try to chase birds so I am able to safely redirect and walk pups of all sizes and temperaments!
“Words cannot adequately capture how superb James was. I had so much anxiety leaving my babies to take a vacation, but it’s clear I had nothing to worry about with James. He was kind, caring, and attentive to the intricacies of managing my four pets. I’ve had a lot of people pet sit in the past, including friends and family, but nobody has done it better than James. I cannot recommend him highly enough!”

“Kyle & Mariah were absolute lifesavers for these tourists! We were in an Airbnb and wanted to go tour Boston but couldn’t leave the dogs and couldn’t take them. They answered me promptly about my requests and came over for a meet and greet the day before we left. We had 6 dogs (big and small) for them to care for and did two 60 minute drop ins. We highly recommend Kyle and Mariah for all of your fur babies needs!”

“Bella took such amazing care of my Higgins like she was one of her own! She was extremely respectful of our home and all our wishes while we were away. I would have Bella back in a heartbeat in the future!!”

“Being able to have Ella check in on our dog was a major relief on such short notice. Our main concern was that he would be lonely and Ella was kind enough to spend some time on the couch with him while she studied. We will definitely reach out to her again! Thanks Ella.”

“Super reliable. Goes above and beyond what I expected from a rover sitter. Took lots of great picture of the dogs on thier walk. Would recommend and will hire again.”

About: I have had dogs all of my life and love to spoil them! I have several dog beds and plenty of toys to play with. I allow dogs on my couch and beds. My home is air conditioned in the summer. I look forward to meeting you and your dog. I am home during the day; therefore, I have the ability to care for doggos and ensure they have plenty of playtime and potty breaks throughout the day. My house sits far back from the road and is almost completely wooded front and back. I have 1+ acres of land with a 400 sq ft fenced in play area they can access as they wish during the day. I can also take them out on a lead or leash. I spray my property for ticks every 3 months Mar-Nov.
“Lily has been absolutely wonderful as a cat-sitter for our two cats over the last 3 years - - dropping in on them for visits from a few days to a few weeks. Always reliable & responsible, our cats love her. She clearly loves them as well. We watch them bouncing down the stairs to greet her & then play with her on our Ring cameras. Lily is warm & personable, and also very responsive...so we feel very comfortable leaving them with her, and know they are in good hands. I recommend Lily strongly!”

“Meghan has been terrific with our little old anxious dog! She has stayed with him twice and taken care of our house, filled bird feeders, etc., and she came during a holiday week (most recently) to let him out mid-day, staying long enough to play, give him treats, and take him out a 2nd time. And send a pic! Really appreciate her willingness to do this the day after Christmas!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gray
Abigail was attentive, responsible and dependable. She took excellent care of my cat, Fleur. It was my first time away from Fleur who is very shy, and Abigail made her feel at ease. I was confident while away that my cat was safe and cared for and never felt the need to call and check. When Abigail returned my house key, Fleur sat with us when we talked instead of running and hiding. That's recommendation enough that I would hire Abigail again without question.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
