I've always had a love for animals, and being able to care for them is something I genuinely enjoy. As someone who works in the medical field, I understand the importance of trust, attention to detail, and treating every family member with compassion—including the four-legged ones! For the past two years, I worked for a luxury dog walking and pet sitting company in Washington, D.C., where I cared for dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, personalities, and temperaments. Whether your pet is a playful puppy, a shy rescue, a reactive dog, or a sweet senior who needs a little extra patience, I'm happy to meet them where they are. Every pet is different, and I love taking the time to earn their trust and learn what makes them feel comfortable. I'm also comfortable caring for pets with medical needs. Because of my background in the medical field, I feel confident administering oral medications, eye drops, and ear medications for both dogs and cats. If your pet has a special routine or requires extra attention, you can trust that they'll be in great hands. Communication is incredibly important to me. For each visit or stay, I'll send detailed updates and plenty of photos! My goal is for you to enjoy your time away without worrying. I also have experience walking up to five dogs at once and am comfortable with everything from leash training to energetic pullers and leisurely senior strolls. No matter your pet's age, personality, or needs, I'll treat them with the same love, patience, and care that I would my own. If I'm staying in your home, I'll care for it with the same respect and attention that I would my own. I'm happy to bring in mail and packages, water plants, keep things clean and tidy, and make sure your home feels just as you left it. My goal is for you to return to a happy pet, a well-cared-for home, and complete peace of mind.

When caring for pets in a client's home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I know that pets are happiest when they can stay in a familiar environment, so I take the time to learn their daily schedule, favorite activities, feeding routine, and any special instructions before you leave. I am certified through Red Cross for Cat and Dog First Aid as well. Whether we're going on walks, playing fetch, enjoying cuddle time on the couch, or simply keeping each other company, I make sure every pet receives plenty of love, attention, exercise, and enrichment based on their individual needs. If your pet requires medications or extra care, I'm comfortable following detailed medical routines and will always keep you updated. I also believe caring for your pet means caring for your home. If I'm house sitting, I'll treat your home with the same respect I would my own by keeping it clean and tidy, bringing in mail and packages, watering plants, taking out the trash if needed, and making sure everything is secure while you're away. After each visit, I'll send detailed updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, comfortable, and in good hands. My goal is for you to come home to a happy pet, a well-cared-for home, and complete peace of mind.

Alyssa was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was very communicative, helpful, and respectful. I felt completely secure with her taking care of my dog and cats. She cleaned up the house and outside water bowl. I was absolutely book care with her again. I loved the report cards and photos from the visits. My dog is very high maintenance and has a lot of energy. He had tons of fun with her and snuggles at nighttime.
Alyssa has house sat and walked our dog Mary-Shelley. She has done an amazing job working with Mary and gives detailed updates of the walks and days. Mary can be a reactive dog and Alyssa does a great job handling her and keeping her going! Would recommend Alyssa for anyone!

I can’t say enough great things about Alyssa! She was easy to communicate with, sweet, great with our two dogs (including a new puppy). She gave frequent and thorough updates with cute pictures. I felt completely at ease leaving her with both my house and my dogs! We would 100% have Alyssa back again :)

Schedule
I'm currently working part-time while completing my remaining prerequisite courses as I apply to Physician Assistant programs, which gives me a flexible schedule to accommodate your pet's needs. Whether your furry one needs regular walks, drop-in visits, overnight care, or a little extra attention, I'm happy to work with you to find a schedule that fits. Clear communication is important to me, and I'll always be upfront about my availability so you can feel confident your pet is receiving the care they deserve.

- I love learning everything I can about a pet before their stay or visit! The more I know, the better I can make them feel comfortable and keep their routine consistent. Some of the most helpful things to know include their daily schedule, feeding routine, favorite toys and activities, any medications or medical conditions, allergies, leash habits, and whether they have any fears or anxieties. I also like to know how they interact with other people and animals, any commands they know, and anything that helps them feel safe and happy!
