“It was a pleasure to have our whippet puppy Fern cared for by Cassidy and Cody while on vacation in Cape May. Cassidy and Cody were so laid back, relaxed and flexible when it came times and days we needed care for Fern. Fern was nervous at first meeting and staying with new friends Gus, (their dog) and their 2 children, but she was wagging her tail and so excited to go back to their house the following day! Fern got extra walks, and even went to the beach with them! We felt very comfortable leaving our baby In their care! Alma’s dog, Birdy, is super sweet as well. Willow seemed comfortable right away and according to Alma settled in more as the day went on. About: My husband used to train in the canine unit so he’s definitely taught me a thing or two! I’ve had cats my whole life as well! I am patient and loving towards all living beings. I enjoy pet sitting & loving them when their families aren’t around. I am also a nanny and have cared for many pets through the families I’ve cared for. I am available for boarding & daycare Friday-Sundays. Sometimes I have more availability but not always. I am open to being flexible as much as I possibly can. I have a large yard, house is a decent size so pets can all enjoy their own personal space or cuddle together. I don’t have an extra crate but I’d be happy to set one up (must be provided by owner).

About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. I have a large one bedroom, and am on the 3rd floor. So my place is likely not good for pets with mobility issues (unless they are small enough that I can carry them). I live very close to lots of nature easily accessible and make a point to get outside often.

Kyle and Mariah cared for our four-dog family pack on our son's wedding day. They were very easy to communicate with before the date, which was important since we were out of state, and they took time to allow us a "meet-and-greet" at their home so everyone could get to know each other. They were very open and willing to care for our golden retriever-mix who has some difficulty with stairs due to a birth defect. They took time to make sure they could help her up the back stairs on their deck. Their property is terrific for dogs: a great fenced-in yard, plenty of shade on a hot day, and a very comfortable cool home to relax in. Best of all, they--and their sweet dog--were very comfortable with all of our dogs--one sweet big girl, two stressed-out cockapoos, and a very worried Jack Russell mix. Our dogs responded to them very well, and we got evidence of this since Mariah and Kyle sent pup-dates and photos to my phone during the day, which gave me HUGE peace of mind. I cannot imagine a better experience. We are very grateful for their care and have recommended them to our son and his friends who live in that area.
