I provide 5 walks a day for my own pup and would love for your dog to join. I work from home so your dog will have ongoing company throughout most of the day. I have one friendly dog in a quiet calm environment with no children. I will feed and walk your doggy as requested, and can provide lots of pets as well.

I’m new on rover but have extensive experience with pet care in the state of Maine and Florida. I look forward to offering services here in Windham I took an early retirement so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I like to stay busy and find pet care very rewarding. I could do drop in for walks and play time or overnights in my home. I love having pets around and feel that I can provide a safe area.

About: I genuinely love cats and dogs and I would own more if I could! I currently have two cats (Han and Solo) and a dog named Ollie. I understand different animals have different needs and routines. Here to help look after your animals for dog walks, drop in visits, potty breaks, babysitting! I currently work from home and can be fairly flexible and available for your pets needs. I can do early mornings, evenings and drop ins/walks during the day. As I have animals at home it will be best if I look after your pets in their own home. I walk my dog often and he loves other dogs so we would be happy to add another to our daily walk!

“We had a wonderful experience leaving our dog Willow with Alma! She was very communicative before and during the booking which always makes the Rover process feel easier and more reassuring. Alma’s dog, Birdy, is super sweet as well. Willow seemed comfortable right away and according to Alma settled in more as the day went on. Great yard, deck for doggie lounging and overall set up from the house (super easy to see the yard from most parts of the downstairs). We will definitely book again. Highly recommend!”

About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. I have a large one bedroom, and am on the 3rd floor. So my place is likely not good for pets with mobility issues (unless they are small enough that I can carry them). I live very close to lots of nature easily accessible and make a point to get outside often.

“It was a pleasure to have our whippet puppy Fern cared for by Cassidy and Cody while on vacation in Cape May. Cassidy and Cody were so laid back, relaxed and flexible when it came times and days we needed care for Fern. Fern was nervous at first meeting and staying with new friends Gus, (their dog) and their 2 children, but she was wagging her tail and so excited to go back to their house the following day! Fern got extra walks, and even went to the beach with them! We felt very comfortable leaving our baby In their care! I also appreciated getting text and picture updates of how Fern was doing throughout the day. I would definitely reach out to Cody and Cassidy again for dog sitting when we are in the area.”

About: I have had Labrador retrievers my whole life! And, 2 years ago fostered my cousin’s English bulldog for 6 months, while she was moving to ME! Friends and family ask me to watch their pups first, because they know I treat them like my own!! Pet care is a big part of my daily routine! Our 3 boys are my children. Once we wake up we head right outside, then we do breakfast, rest for a moment or two after eating, and then back outside for walks or play time! We also love car rides, cuddles, hiking, etc! Dogs that come to stay with us just fall right into our routines. Dogs are awesome, and deserve to be treated as such! We have 18 acres in Buxton! Perfect for dogs to play, and enjoy time outside. In our home pets are like family! They are welcome on furniture to get comfy.

About: I have been a pet carer since I could hold a spoon and scoop cat food onto a plate. My family had two cats for my entire childhood; they lived to 18 and 19 years old! I have cat-sat for friends and family for all my life and through this have become extremely comfortable with cats—from the grumpy to the cuddly. I have given cats medicine in most forms that don't require a certification (pills, syringe, in food, inhalers, ointments... just no injections!) and have sitted for kittens, cats with illnesses like chronic respiratory issues, cancer, and severe skin allergies, and have no queasiness when it comes to the realities of life with cats! With dogs, I have more of the proper pet-sitting experience. That has really ramped up in the last year, since we moved to Portland and into an apartment that is pet-friendly. I have loved getting to know each dog and adjusting so they have the best time possible (it can't be easy leaving home for a stranger's house!). For example, one dog tends to have a much better, more peaceful day if I get him out to the woods for a run/walk in the morning before work (who wouldn't!) Another loves to cuddle, so we put a blanket on the couch so that she can snuggle while we watch TV at night with constant pets. Another is whip-smart, so I try to make sure we do extra enrichment/play time. With all animals, I try to go above and beyond and see them as individuals with distinct personalities and needs. :) I am a work-from-home journalist who would absolutely love some company, playtime, cuddles, and more reasons to get outside during the day. Sadly, I travel too much right now to adopt a pet of my own. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to bond with and share my space with an animal! My work schedule is incredibly flexible, but in general I am home all day, with some sort of exercise in the morning that I would be happy to make part of the pet sitting experience, a remote work day wherein I have a lot of freedom to take breaks. I also have a small porch, a medium-sized fenced yard, a larger non-fenced yard, and a beautiful suburban area to walk with nearby parks. I am often away from home for a few hours in the evening, but I am flexible and happy to stay home with an animal if necessary. Flexibility is the name of the game! We live in a very safe area, in a pet-friendly home. It is just my partner and I, two young professionals, in an apartment that regularly hosts animals for boarding. As a previous long-time pet owner and sitter, I am aware of the best practices regarding animal safety (depending on the animal). I prioritize comfort and respect with animals. I think of animals as a member of the family, and will care for their interest and safety as I would a child who was in my care.

They were very accomodating even on the last minute notice, and were very flexible on the timing, which we really appreciate :) They took Ohsam out for a walk several times, gave lots of loves and cuddles. About: My husband used to train in the canine unit so he’s definitely taught me a thing or two! I’ve had cats my whole life as well! I am patient and loving towards all living beings. I enjoy pet sitting & loving them when their families aren’t around. I am also a nanny and have cared for many pets through the families I’ve cared for. I am available for boarding & daycare Friday-Sundays. Sometimes I have more availability but not always. I am open to being flexible as much as I possibly can. I have a large yard, house is a decent size so pets can all enjoy their own personal space or cuddle together. I don’t have an extra crate but I’d be happy to set one up (must be provided by owner).
