I am so grateful to have found Maureen at the last minute to care for my much beloved doggie and eagerly look forward to her help in the future. She far exceeds even the highest standard when it comes to dog care. She is caring, extremely thorough and detail-oriented with enthusiasm. She will go above and beyond so look no further if you are searching for someone to take care of your furry friend.

About: I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and making them feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I'm active, patient, and love going on walks, playing, or just keeping them company. I'll care for your dog the same way I would my own. Pet care is already part of my everyday life because of my own dog, Taco. He's super active, so walks and park trips are already part of my everyday routine. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs, so dog walking and drop in visits fit naturally into my schedule. I'm available weekday afternoons and anytime on weekends. I always want dogs to feel safe and comfortable around me. On walks, I pay attention to their pace, surroundings, and anything that could stress them out. In a client's home, I follow their routine and make sure their dog feels relaxed and cared for. I treat my dog like they're my own ❤️

About: Rescued my current 5 year old dog from being abandoned in Tijuana. Spent every day with her since, I have so much love for animals especially dogs. I’m currently working part time and am looking for a side hustle that can help others and something that I love at the same time. I have 1 medium sized dog and 3 cats, I know how they both can be, I’ve seen the good and the bad and know how to handle situations.

Jared was great taking care of our little guy while we were out on vacation. My dog has to take daily medicine and has to be carried up the steps, and Jared handled all of that very well. He even left our home cleaner than we had left it for him! We will keep him in mind for the next time we are out of town.

Our flight got cancelled and Maria came to the rescue! One of our two dogs is very nervous and it is always scary for us to have someone walking into the home without us there. But because they know and love Maria, we knew that our dogs were in good hands when she stayed with them for a few hours when our trip home was delayed. How they react to her is a good indication of the care that she gives them.

Angie took great care of Ziggy while we were away for almost two weeks. She took him on lots of walks and sent us pictures and videos every day, which we really appreciated and helped us feel comfortable knowing he was happy and well cared for. Ziggy seemed to really enjoy his time with her, and we came home to a happy pup! Would definitely book Angie again in the future!

My husband and I just moved to the San Diego area a month ago and I was having anxiety about finding a pet sitter. I was told about Rover and so I thought I would give it a try...my initial experience was very unsettling to say the least, I booked with 2 sitters and they both cancelled, the one cancelled last minute right before my trip, so with 2 strikes already I was hesitant to try for a third time and then I came across Erica and I was very happy with her from the meet and greet to her taking care of my fur babies. She is very professional and clearly has a love for taking care of my babies and they were very excited to see her, I will definitely being using her again and recommend to those are are looking for pet care...she is great!!!!

Hopefully she stays around San Diego and will watch our dogs again in the future. It can be hard to find people to trust to watch your family and stay in your home.

About: I absolutely love taking care of my dogs and I treat any pets just as I do my own. I was especially drawn to Rover after long-term dog sitting these 2 wonderful Dobermans, it made me want to create even more special bonds just like that. I am genuinely so happy spending time around animals… I have always taken up dog sitting opportunities for family or friends and now I would like to extend my love out to your pets as well!🩷🫂 I am dedicated to giving your pup the best care possible. I am super flexible and currently offering dog walking, drop in visits, and house sitting during the week and on weekends!! Check my calendar for specific availability. I am used to incorporating 1-3 dogs + a cat into a daily routine (for several years). I really enjoy long walks and playing outside or even napping with my dogs. I have unconditional love ready to give to any pet… you are doing me a favor by allowing me the opportunity to get to know and love your fur baby🥹🫶 I will always make sure that your pet and I are both respectful of house rules while still having fun. I do try to work on small behavioral training such as sit and stay on a daily basis. I will always be on top of it to make sure your dog stays on schedule and give endless cuddles so they stay happy as well.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Granite Hills

Brittany is the kind of pet sitter you hope to meet on this app. She went above and beyond from the start. I left on a 9 day trip out of state which was the longest I've ever left my pup and was a bit nervous since this was my first time using Rover for pet sitting. Brittany agreed to a meet & greet prior to booking, was down to earth, genuine, answered all my questions, and I could see how much she loved dogs when she met mine. During my trip, she was fast to respond when I reached out, sent so many photos of my fur baby and honestly went above and beyond the entire time. She asked for local park recommendations, for detailed instructions about his feeding schedule and really made sure to check all the boxes. My pup also sadly got an ear infection right before and she had no problem at all caring for that on top of everything else. I will 1000% be booking again with Brittany for all my future pet sitting needs. Highly recommend you do too!

Sarah was wonderful with my 2 girls. They have never been left home alone and Sarah took the time and drop in visits to get my Rottweilers use to her and me to feel comfortable with being gone for the week. She made my girls happy and save while I had to go out of state. She sent photos morning and each evening. Sarah is a very special person, I'm so happy I found her.

I highly recommend Mandi as a pet and house sitter. Trust me when I say she goes above and beyond on her duties as a pet sitter. Unfortunately, we had a sewer problem at our home during her stay and since we were out of the country, we were able to handle it over the phone and get a plumber in to fix the issue. Mandi was absolutely amazing in communicating and keeping us updated with our pup during our trip. We will definitely have her pet sit again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Granite Hills

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Granite Hills on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 6,176 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Granite Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Granite Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Granite Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Granite Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Granite Hills. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
