About: Growing up, I’ve always had pets. I love animals more than anything, and i’m currently in school to become a Veterinary Technician. I attend Grossmont College as a Ceramics student, to further my hobby into a future part time career. We have two boston terriers at home, who are 4 and 6. i have experience caring for disabled pups as i had a 16 year old dachshund who had been paralyzed. while i don’t have a cat currently, i grew up with cats and love them dearly. I’ve pet sit for neighbors and friends since i was 16, watching dogs and cats of various sizes, energies, and behaviors. I’m available for overnight stays if you’re headed out of town, or a drop by visit if you need someone to feed and play with your baby while away! I hope you’ll consider me to watch your furry friend 🩷 I am a part time student at grossmont college, and grossmont adult school. Both are evening attendance. Class duration: Monday/Wednesday: 5:45pm-8:35pm Tuesday/Thursdays: 2pm-8pm Friday-Sunday: Open I’m happy to arrange a meeting with you prior to the job to see the home, and meet the animals. Please leave/send information about the animals feeding schedule, food type, medications/vitamins, and directions about your home. Overnight stays: I will bring my own food, i just ask to use the fridge :) Im okay with sleeping on the couch! Your home will be tidied up before i leave; you’ll find it just the way you left it.
“Sarah was very responsive and kind and took great care of our pets and home. I’m very grateful for her communication and reliability, which gave me peace while we were away. Thank you, Sarah!”

“Courtney did a great job with our typically anxious dog. She came over to meet us earlier in the day, arrived early for her assigned time and bonded well with our pup. She sent us multiple photos and a video throughout her evening of dog sitting him. Looking forward to booking her again in the future.”

About: I absolutely love taking care of my dogs and I treat any pets just as I do my own. I was especially drawn to Rover after long-term dog sitting these 2 wonderful Dobermans, it made me want to create even more special bonds just like that. I am genuinely so happy spending time around animals… I have always taken up dog sitting opportunities for family or friends and now I would like to extend my love out to your pets as well!🩷🫂 I am dedicated to giving your pup the best care possible. I am super flexible and currently offering dog walking, drop in visits, and house sitting during the week and on weekends!! Check my calendar for specific availability. I am used to incorporating 1-3 dogs + a cat into a daily routine (for several years). I really enjoy long walks and playing outside or even napping with my dogs. I have unconditional love ready to give to any pet… you are doing me a favor by allowing me the opportunity to get to know and love your fur baby🥹🫶 I will always make sure that your pet and I are both respectful of house rules while still having fun. I do try to work on small behavioral training such as sit and stay on a daily basis. I will always be on top of it to make sure your dog stays on schedule and give endless cuddles so they stay happy as well.
“Jamie did an amazing job of taking care of our home and our 3 pets - even the older guy with a rigid and inconvenient schedule. I appreciated Jamie checking in for regular updates and communicating with me as we coordinated travel times. Very grateful to return home to 3 happy and safe fur babies!”

“Angelina was fantastic! We received regular photos showing our dogs happy and being themselves. She stayed in our home for about 10 days and everything was the same as when we left. Hopefully she stays around San Diego and will watch our dogs again in the future. It can be hard to find people to trust to watch your family and stay in your home.”
“Michaela was great with our gentle giants. They typically are timid and bark at new people for a while after entering the home, but when she came in, they took so quickly to her and my most fearful and timid dog did not bark at her nonstop. He actually went up to her quicker than any other dog sitter previously. Michaela sent updates throughout the visit and kept me up to date. The dogs really seemed to like her which was such a blessing. Having 3 large dogs can be intimidating, but Michaela was at ease and did a wonderful job. I definitely would recommend her and will use her again in the future.”

About: I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and making them feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I'm active, patient, and love going on walks, playing, or just keeping them company. I'll care for your dog the same way I would my own. Pet care is already part of my everyday life because of my own dog, Taco. He's super active, so walks and park trips are already part of my everyday routine. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs, so dog walking and drop in visits fit naturally into my schedule. I'm available weekday afternoons and anytime on weekends. I always want dogs to feel safe and comfortable around me. On walks, I pay attention to their pace, surroundings, and anything that could stress them out. In a client's home, I follow their routine and make sure their dog feels relaxed and cared for. I treat my dog like they're my own ❤️
“She is amazing! Great communication and responsible. Would have her take care of our pups again anytime. She sends lots of pictures throughout the stay and our dogs loved her.”

“I can’t just say enough of Kelly she was wonderful with our Giant Saint Bernard she did a great job caring for him, and of course I will recommend her and will used her services again…”
“100% recommend Alexzandria!! From the time I started messaging her she asked all the right questions about my dogs. She was very flexible and communicated well! I got daily updates without prompt! I was worried about finding someone for 2 dogs, especially one being a puppy but this worked out perfectly!”

About: Growing up surrounded by a variety of animals has given me a deep understanding of their care, behavior, and needs. Over the years, I have had the privilege of caring for a diverse range of animals, including canines, equines, goats, reptiles, and arachnids. My current "fur family" includes four dogs—Emma and Levi (Border Collies), Strauss and Mazi (Belgian Malinois)—as well as two cats, Ferb (Domestic Shorthair) and Phineas (Domestic Longhair), and two horses, Chester (Quarter Horse x Belgian Cross) and Maggy (Thoroughbred). Throughout my life, I have gained hands-on experience in a variety of animal care tasks, from feeding, watering, and providing exercise, to administering medical care, cleaning, and conducting regular health checks. I have also cared for animals in various settings, including on my property and in clients' homes, ensuring their well-being and comfort while their owners are away. My availability for pet care services is highly flexible and can be tailored to meet the unique needs of both you and your pets. Whether it's daily visits or last-minute requests, I prioritize making myself available to ensure your pets receive the care and attention they deserve. Providing reliable and consistent care is my main focus, and I understand the importance of being adaptable to your schedule. Your pets' well-being is always my top priority. I take great pride in providing exceptional care for animals, treating each one as if they were my own family. Whether it’s ensuring they receive plenty of exercise, keeping their living spaces clean and comfortable, or offering lots of love and attention, I am dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all of them. This commitment to high-quality care extends to all pets I look after. When entrusted with your animals, I will approach their care with the same level of attention, compassion, and respect. I take the time to understand each pet’s individual needs and routines, ensuring they feel comfortable and secure while you're away. With me, you can rest assured knowing your pets are in loving hands.
“The communication and updates were exceptional!!! I felt So confident that our pups were being treated well and getting all the love! My rescue pup has never let anyone besides my partner and I touch her, and this weekend tee sent a video of her petting the pup on her bed! Will 100% hire her every time we need pet sitting/drop in needs!”

“Jared was great taking care of our little guy while we were out on vacation. My dog has to take daily medicine and has to be carried up the steps, and Jared handled all of that very well. He even left our home cleaner than we had left it for him! We will keep him in mind for the next time we are out of town.”

About: I've grown up with cats since I was 8 and began petsitting for people in my 1st couple years of college around 2015. I've done both dogsitting and catsitting for people and I love both animals equally! I have petsat for people with animals of all ages, with the youngest dog I have watched being about 8-10 months and the oldest being about 14 or 15. I love exploring new places and being outdoors especially since I live in one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. with the best weather! I find it equally enjoyable to see a dog smile and to see him/her bring joy to their owner and to people around them. I love to see how dogs can bring people together and get people to connect who would otherwise likely never talk to each other. I genuinely enjoy helping others and caring for pets really is its own kind of therapy! I will always clean up after pets even if its raining or if the dog wants to rush off and I have to step on the leash to keep him/her from taking off. I live by the golden rule and will do what I can to hold people accountable for pets that aren't being taken care of and/or cleaned up after. I'm currently working part time at San Diego Community College district as an Educational Coach with a students who are special needs or neurodivergent student population. I work about 17-19 hours a week for that job and am typically away from the home for 5 hours a day or less on Mon-Thurs depending on the day and number of students I'm meeting with. Some administrative tasks for my school job can be done remotely. I want to do more dog-walking and housesitting because it motivates me to stay active and foster connections with animals that my current living situation doesn't allow for. I also love hearing people's pet rescue stories and funny stories because each pet has its own personality and leaves pawprints on others hearts and lives! I love spending time with pets by throwing them their favorite toy and cuddling with them on the couch or bed. I also care for them by taking them for walks or finding the perfect new toy from an old volleyball, piece of rope, or other seemingly random objects that pets decide to take a liking to. Its interesting to see what they choose and of course there are limits there of things that should not be considered due to being hazardous due to being a choking hazard, but I'm all about finding new ways for them to have fun. I will feed them as often as you need and I have also given a dog its pills disguised in peanut butter or in its kibble a few times. If your animal is only allowed in parts of the house or yard I will keep the pens up and only allow it out as directed. I will provide them water as well as with treats or dental chews as preferred. I will take dogs out to use the bathroom as often as I am able, typically once every couple hours while I'm home and once every few hours if I'm going out. Feel free to reach out via text to clarify this, especially if your pet has specific needs or needs to be taken out more frequently to use the restroom.

“Erica is the best! Ripley and Scully are always comfy and happy when they are with her. She really cares about them and gives them lots of love and attention. Ripley had surgery a week ago and Erica was great at giving her her medication and helping her move around. We highly recommend her.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Dehesa
Brittany is the kind of pet sitter you hope to meet on this app. She went above and beyond from the start. I left on a 9 day trip out of state which was the longest I've ever left my pup and was a bit nervous since this was my first time using Rover for pet sitting. Brittany agreed to a meet & greet prior to booking, was down to earth, genuine, answered all my questions, and I could see how much she loved dogs when she met mine. During my trip, she was fast to respond when I reached out, sent so many photos of my fur baby and honestly went above and beyond the entire time. She asked for local park recommendations, for detailed instructions about his feeding schedule and really made sure to check all the boxes. My pup also sadly got an ear infection right before and she had no problem at all caring for that on top of everything else. I will 1000% be booking again with Brittany for all my future pet sitting needs. Highly recommend you do too!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 5,837 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Dehesa. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dehesa walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dehesa maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dehesa choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dehesa. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
