“Emily was awesome. She took wonderful care of our pups and sent a lot of fun pictures and videos. We felt free to enjoy our vacation knowing our babies were in great hands!!! We came home to happy dogs. We would definitely hire Emily again.”

“Lulu did an amazing job taking care of my lurcher girl. She gave an end of day report with lots of pictures and kept our house super clean. I hope to have Lulu dog sit for us again in the future.”

“My girls LOVED having Jennifer stay with them when we went away for the long Thanksgiving weekend. The baby of my pack is usually quite shy around new people but she instantly fell in love with Jennifer. She did great with all 4 of our furbabies ... from 15 lbs to 150 lbs and 6 months to 17 years.”

“She was amazing. Our trip came at not the best time for our pets. We had just blended our families and our pets were still getting use to each other. She was able to help them become friends and learn to live with each other. She sent pictures every day and they were all very happy. I highly recommend her and will use her again”

“Kristy, was awesome she truly loved her work with my dogs. She communicates through out her visits with texts and lots of pics. She is the best sitter I have had and gained my insulin dependent dogs trust quickly. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She is a true dog lover and all animals in general.”

“Paige took great care of my fur babes while house sitting. She made sure they were well taken care of and even brought in packages we received while we were gone. I will be using her again in the future!”

“Desire once again did an amazing job taking care of my pup. Communication is on point. It is so nice to go on vacation and know my pup is getting loved and cared for. I highly recommend her for taking care of your pets.”

About: I’ve cared for animals my whole life and have experience with pets of all sizes and personalities. I currently care for my black Lab, Lexi, and have previous experience working at a pet store, where I helped care for animals and learned the importance of patience, safety, and attention to detail. As a Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology Alumni at Colorado State University, I’m passionate about animal care and understand how important it is to make pets feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. Whether your pet loves walks, playtime, cuddles, or just a calm companion, I’ll care for them like they’re my own! I recently graduated from Colorado State University and now have a very flexible schedule, allowing me to be highly available for pet care. Whether your pet needs daily walks, drop-in visits, overnight care, or extra attention, I’m happy to work around their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and cared for. I’m dependable, responsive, and committed to giving your pets lots of love, playtime, and attention while you’re away! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I understand every pet has different needs and routines, so I take the time to learn what makes them feel comfortable and cared for. Whether in your home or out on walks, I’ll provide patient, attentive care and treat your pet like family. I’m reliable, respectful of your space, and always happy to send regular photo updates for peace of mind.
“Roxanne was amazing with our dog Jack! She sent us photos and status updates and took great care of our house too! Thank you and we hope to see you again soon!”

“Trinity did an absolutely amazing job with our 2 pups. Took them on multiple walks a day to help burn off energy and potty. Always provided multiple pictures with her updates. We will definitely book with her again.”

“Katy was exceptional with our anxious boys. It's such a relief to know we have a fantastic person to watch our dogs and house! The pics showed they were happy and having a blast. It means the world to us to know they are in such great hands with Katy. Thank you so very much!!!”

“Lydia took the absolute best care of our dog Fynn while we were on vacation for the week. She was extremely responsive and diligent with our dog and with me. We got pictures of him and her playing every day. She was very respectful with our home. She even took in our mail :). She is very good with dogs and anyone who has her as their Rover is a very lucky person! We will absolutely be booking her in the future for our next vacation!! 100 out of 10: would recommend Lydia!!!”

“Jason is one of the top pet sitters we’ve ever had. At our meet and greet, he took notes and asked questions to make sure he had all the details covered. What set Jason apart was how invested he was in giving the same high level of care toward our non-traditional pets (parrot and gecko) as he did for our dog. He was confident, curious, and eager to learn about their needs so he could provide proper enrichment, beyond just basic care. He paid close attention to how they were doing, asked thoughtful questions, and happily tried suggestions to encourage our parrot’s appetite. It gave me peace of mind to know all our pets were getting attentive, genuine care while we were gone. I would especially recommend Jason for pet parents of non-traditional pets or pets with special needs, as he’s highly responsible, responsive, and detailed in his care of all animals.”

About: I’ve taken care of people’s dogs through pet sitting for the last five years mostly in Olathe, KS, but also in Lawrence. I am able to walk dogs, feed them, let them outside, bathe them, etc. I am available almost any day of the week as my only other commitment is being a student at the University of Kansas. I am very flexible. I love to be able to spend time with dogs and be able to play with them, either in the house, in a backyard. or walking them.
“I hesitate to say how amazing Chantelle is because I want her to always be available when I need her! But she is truly the BEST when it comes to house sitting and taking care of our furry guys. We know they are in great hands when she is with them - she sends texts and photos to update us so we don't worry about a thing. We are so grateful to have found Chantelle!”

“Elizabeth was amazing with boomer. He’s a senior and she took such great care of him! Took him on walks even in thr cold weather and kept his routine the same everyday! Can’t thank her enough and would recommend her to anyone looking to have their dog watched, choose her and you won’t regret it! Thank you again!”

“Once again, Monet did an amazing job watching our babies. We couldn't be more excited and pleased to work with Monet. Monet, thank you for everything you do for us and the furbabies so we can enjoy our time away!”

“She is very kind and caring and did a fabulous job taking care of our Star while we were out of town. She was also very responsive and we will definitely hire her again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Grandview
Chelsea was wonderful with Cervantes, and had really good communication with me (e.g., photos, videis, updates). I really appreciated that she showered Cer with love when I wasn’t there! Also, she left my place looking better than when I had left. I’d use Chelsea again for sure.

The average cost for House Sitting in Grandview on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

As of August 2026, there are 1,552 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Grandview. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Grandview walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Grandview maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Grandview choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Grandview. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
