“Allison was great, she was easy to get a hold of and was always on time. Allison was great with both my dog and cat and the pets really liked her. She even went the extra mile and changed her schedule so it would work better for us. I would recommend her and look forward to working with her again in the future.”

“Kristy is absolutely the best! Both my cats are in love with her, even my shy girl. It's such peace of mind to know my babies are being cared for as if they were her own. Kristy goes above and beyond and I couldn't be happier. I've already got her lined up for more visits. Thank you, Kristy! I don't know what I would have done without you!”

“Rachel was great. This was a fun introductory visit to meet with all the pets she'll be caring for for a week. Rachel was great to ask detailed questions about each of our furry babies. You can tell she loves animals and understands their behaviors.”

“Mallory is wonderful and gives me peace of mind knowing my pets are well taken care of. My cats usually hide from everyone and are starting to emerge during the visits.”

About: Hi, I’m Avry! What sets me apart from your average pet sitter is my professional background. I spent over a year working at a local, small business dog daycare and boarding facility, which means your furry family member isn't just getting a companion—they’re getting someone trained in professional pack management, safety protocols, and diverse canine behaviors. I have a deep, lifelong love for all animals and genuinely treat them like human members of the family. Whether your pup needs high-energy playtime or quiet, patient comfort, I adapt completely to their vibe. My Hands-On Expertise Includes: Puppy Prodigy: Patient care and routine-building for the littlest ones. Senior & Special Needs Comfort: Experienced in gentle handling for aging or injured dogs. Medication Management: Confident and precise with oral or topical medical needs. Energy Matching: From exhausting the high-energy athletes to cuddling the low-energy couch potatoes. Reliable & Trusted: I currently manage weekday care for a private family, seamlessly blending their dog's routine into my daily schedule (even bringing them to work with me!). When your pet is with me, they get the structure and safety of a professional handler combined with the cozy, one-on-one affection in their own home. I can't wait to meet your best friend(s)! Because I lead an active and structured life, I thrive on routine—and so do dogs! I don't just 'fit' your pup into my schedule; they become a seamless part of my daily rhythm. Whether I’m working, opening shifts, or running errands, your dog receives dedicated, high-quality attention. I treat my busy days as opportunities for structured walks, mental stimulation, and perfectly timed potty breaks, ensuring your pup is never just waiting around, but actively cared for and loved. Consistency is Key: I mirror your dog's exact feeding, medication, and bathroom schedule, blending it perfectly with my own daily routines. Built-In Companionship: My schedule includes dedicated 'pup-first' blocks for high-energy exercise, structured decompression time, and plenty of belly rubs. On-the-Go Care: With my background, I’m an expert at managing time. Your dog gets a dynamic day filled with attention, not a lonely day waiting by the door. Proactive Communication: Even on my busiest days, you’ll receive regular photo updates and check-ins so you never have to wonder how your best friend is doing. Safety isn't a afterthought for me—it's my background. Having spent over a year working in a high-volume dog daycare and boarding facility, I am professionally trained in canine body language, pack management, and emergency safety protocols. I know how to spot the subtle signs of stress, fatigue, or illness before they become issues. Whether administering time-sensitive medication, caring for an injured pup, or supervising playtime, I apply professional facility-grade safety standards to every single pet in my care. You can rest easy knowing your dog is in hands that know exactly what to do in any situation." Quick Bullet Points to Include: Canine Body Language: Professionally trained to read dog behavior and prevent conflicts before they start. Medication & Injury Care: Fully confident and experienced in administering oral/topical medications and managing pups recovering from injuries. Constant Supervision: Pups are never left unattended in situations where safety could be compromised. Open Communication: I provide transparent, honest updates and photos so you are always in the loop.

About: Hello! My name is Andie, and I’m a cat lady, dog lover, bookworm, and traveler. I work as a freelance editor, so I can work from anywhere, and my schedule is very flexible. * As a big animal lover, I love the opportunity to make new furry friends. I currently have a cat (Luna), as well as having cats and dogs growing up. I’ve worked as a dog and cat sitter in Philadelphia and Kansas City for several years, and I also house/pet sit through Trusted Housesitters, a service that facilitates lodging around the world in exchange for house/pet sitting. * Through these experiences, I’m accustomed to working with a variety of types and personalities of cats and dogs, as well as caring for rescue and/or nervous pets. I’m calm and patient, diligent in following specific instructions, and committed to making sure your furry friends are healthy, comfortable, happy, and well loved even while you're away! I’m organized, reliable, and tidy, I’ll make sure your home and/or pet(s) get the respect and care they deserve so you can relax in knowing your home and beloved beasties are safe and well cared for! I’m also very communicative and am happy to provide updates and photos as frequently as you like (because there's no such thing as too many cute animal pics). My schedule is very flexible, so I can structure my days around your pet’s routine. I typically work from home during the day and sometimes run errands or go out in the afternoon/evening. I’m not usually out late or gone for more than a few hours at a time. I also love to be active, so I’m happy to walk/play with pets as much as needed. I try to maintain a routine and environment as close as possible to what pets are used to—feeding and walking at their usual times, etc. I love spending time with pets, whether that means taking a dog out on an exploration or cuddling up with a lap cat/dog, but overall I want pets to be comfortable, so I cater to each pet’s preferences and comfort levels.
“Alex was so sweet and amazing with our dogs! We were able to book with her last minute and she was super flexible/accommodating. She sent me pictures and updates, and had great communication. We were even able to extend our booking with her which was super helpful. I would definitely book with her again for future dog sits!”

“Always love when Rachel is available to check in on my fur baby. It’s nice when she’s been available whenever I need her for check ins. She is very reliable & follows my, hopefully, simple instructions. :)”

“Megan was great with a couple check-ins while we were out of town. Our pup clearly felt comfortable with her and enjoyed belly rubs even though they’d never met before. Would hire again for sure!”

“Katie did a fantastic job taking care of our perfect handsome Walter. We asked him how it went and he said I like Katie a lot mom. She was very nice to me and she took great care of me. You would approve mom!!”

“Morgan did a great job caring for Mr. Thick Whiskers. She provided helpful daily updates and found a new hiding spot for his food after it became apparent that we have an acrobat cat. I would highly recommend her.”

About: I have 3 years experience with dogs. I saved my American bully mix after she was thrown out when she had the few litters that she did have. She wasn’t doing well but I got her back up to speed and I’ve found that I’m not just a cat person. I love dogs too. Since then, I have also saved another pit mix. I live in a mixed household with two other dogs and a third cat. They are both guardian livestock breeds. I assist in their care as well. I work full time, nights. So I have two days of open availability but I’m also available mornings! I wake up early nearly every day, so I can be there when you’re off to work or with the family. I will come to your house and use the tools and information you provide to care for your pets. I do not take pets into my own home for a number of reasons. I would hate for our pets to stress each other out and the health of both parties must be taken into consideration.
“Lily is the best pet sitter ever! This was my first time leaving my pup, and I was incredibly anxious. Immediately after meeting Lily, I felt a wave of relief about leaving her. She was so cheerful and attentive, asking questions on my preferences & my dog’s. When I was away, she sent tons of pictures and gave detailed updates. I needed to extend a bit longer than anticipated, and she gladly accommodated me. I can’t thank her enough and will definitely be going to her from here on out. Thanks Lily!”

“Aubrey was great! We were anxious about finding care for our rescue dog, and Aubrey came and met him and had an instant connection! She went above and beyond playing with him and had great communication. Highly recommend!”

“It was a delight to meet Rachael for a drop in visit. My pup took to her immediately. Looking forward to her taking care of Pippa while we're away. She asked good questions, she had good responses to my questions, and she left me feeling much more comfortable about having someone stay in my home.”

Brandon & Nicole were absolutely amazing with my kitty! They took such great care of him and made sure to check on everything he needed. They communicated so well throughout the entire stay, kept me updated on how he was doing, and even sent plenty of pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. They are such a caring, trustworthy, and attentive family, and I truly appreciate everything they did for my kitty. I couldn’t have asked for better care! I will definitely be booking with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone to care for their pets.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Grandview. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
