“Pamela was the best! Our toy poodle takes a while to warm up to someone new, and she snuggled up to Pamela pretty quick! Pamela was very punctual (early actually!), she followed all the feeding rules (one of our dogs has renal dysplasia), took them out for potty, and she sent us adorable photo updates. Would totally recommend her, and 100% will work with her again when we’re in KC!”

“Molly loves Lulu. She has been a blessing to our little family. Daily pics and updates are always so appreciated! It’s our 3rd time to have her watch our little princess and we could not be happier. Thank you, Lulu!!”
“Excellent sitter for my 8 year old and 2 1 year old Rottweiler puppies. Mya is a loving and compassionate person. She followed my special instructions to the tee and was especially great with my youngest puppy with epilepsy as one of the 7 dogs in her own household also has epilepsy. I couldn't have asked for a better person than Mya for my last minute booking while I had surgery. Will definitely use her repeatedly! Highly recommend.”

“Sylveena watched our dog and two cats for the weekend while we were out of town. Her communication was exceptional, consistently exceeding expectations. She sent multiple pictures and updates of each pet, giving us peace of mind while we were away. We were new to having someone watch our pets at home, but she handled everything with ease. When we returned we had happy pets and a clean home. We highly recommend Sylveena for the care of your beloved pets.”

“Julia took excellent care of our girl. We made a last minute request for Julia to extend her stay and she was kind enough to accommodate. I would definitely recommend Julia for your pet sitting needs.”

About: I've been around animals my whole life and understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or simply providing companionship, I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I'm patient, dependable, and pay close attention to the little details that matter, from following feeding schedules and exercise routines to keeping water bowls full and giving plenty of affection. I'm comfortable caring for puppies, senior pets, energetic dogs, shy cats, and multi-pet households. My goal is simple: treat every pet like they're my own and give you peace of mind knowing they're in caring, reliable hands. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to be reliable and consistent for pet care. Whether it's a walk, drop-in visit, or spending quality time with your pet, I'm happy to work around their routine. I love being active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets is something I genuinely enjoy, not just a job. Every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and any special instructions before each visit. Whether I'm in your home or taking your dog for a walk, their safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I'll make sure they have fresh water, plenty of attention, exercise, and playtime while also respecting the routines they're used to. I keep owners updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I always treat both your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would my own. My goal is for your pets to feel comfortable, happy, and loved until you return.
“Jennifer was so good with my dogs! I felt very comfortable with her staying with them. We already have her scheduled for our next trip. 🙂 I would definitely recommend her!!!”
“Great having Saige as my first sitter! We met at a Starbucks to do a meet and greet and I instantly felt comfortable. Scary bringing a stranger into your home these days, so I was thankful she was open to answering any questions and wanted me to feel comfortable. Days later, I then had Saige come to my home to meet my cat and see the space to ensure she would also be comfortable sitting at my home. She petsitted or pet sat(?) lol, for 4 days and there’s hardly a hint that she was ever here - meaning she left the place as she found it and didn’t leave a mess or anything. I don’t think my kitty ever got super used to having a stranger in her home but that’s not Saige’s fault. My kitty is just super shy and takes a while to warm up to strangers. I just asked that Saige respect her boundaries and space and I believe she did that! My kitty is almost 16 years old and I just really wanted that reassurance of having someone around more often than just bopping in for 15 mins a day - so I’m thankful for finding this service and the sitting going smoothly! Would book Saige again!”

“Rachel was great! She did all the objective things well - was on time, fed and medicated correctly, etc. She was also a clear and consistent communicator, she took great photos, and my dog liked her (he's quick to go on a hunger strike if he's stressed but he ate well with her). My cat full-time hides when there's a human who isn't me in our house, but Rachel sent detailed updates on what she was able to observe (e.g., food consumed, frequency of litter box use). After I left, I realized I had forgotten to put the compost in my freezer into the bucket, so I texted Rachel to ignore the instructions about putting the compost bucket at the curb - Rachel responded by asking if the bin in the freezer was what needed to go in the bucket and said she'd take care of it, which was a huge help. We had a pretty bad storm while Rachel was here and she gathered up the many sticks and branches that had fallen all over my yard. Totally above and beyond!”

About: Ask me how to get $20 off your first booking!! Hi, I’m Gabby! I’m a dog momma to my Luna girl, a 9 year old Lab/Australian Shepherd Mix and Leala a 8 year old mixed breed. My girls are sassy & full of personality and I’ve had them since they were puppies. I’ve always loved animals, especially dogs & cats and have been the go to person for animal care for the people in my life and beyond that for many years. I have about 20 years of experience when it comes to caring for animals. I have cared for dogs & cats of all ages, breeds, personalities, & medical needs! And even fish & lizards! We promise to give lots of love to your fur baby. I know every animal is unique and assure patience and a willingness to take the time to get to know them! ** Please note that my dogs would be with me for house/pet sitting & walking which would provide fun & socialization for your dogs as well!** A little about me: I’ve been a nanny, an animal caregiver, elderly caregiver, & I worked in hospice for 8 years (direct patient care as as a volunteer dept supervisor where my goal was to find and match volunteers of all kinds with patients to improve their quality of life) *FYI: extra tasks (other than caring for your animals) will need to be discussed and there may be an extra fee.* I have a flexible schedule. My pups eat twice daily, but we can incorporate whatever feeding style your fur baby needs. Most of my life revolves around my pups so that means it will around your animals as well! I know it takes a couple days for us and animals to learn each other and will be understanding of that while meeting your fur baby where and how they need. Please just let me know what your pets needs to be cared for and to feel loved and we will go from there!

“My girls LOVED having Jennifer stay with them when we went away for the long Thanksgiving weekend. The baby of my pack is usually quite shy around new people but she instantly fell in love with Jennifer. She did great with all 4 of our furbabies ... from 15 lbs to 150 lbs and 6 months to 17 years.”

“Baleigh took great care of our two dogs while we were out of town! She provided check-ins with pictures, which was so appreciated. We asked her to housesit as well and she left things tidy and exactly as we left things. I highly recommend Baleigh!”

“Kate was amazing!! She checked in often and sent photos of my dogs daily! Dolly is usually timid of people but she was really comfortable with Kate! She stayed at my home and was with them majority of the time! They had constant care and attention. When I returned she started laundry for the bedding and towels, and left everything spotless! It doesn’t even look like she was here which is such a blessing to come back to a clean home! I would recommend to anyone looking for a sitter!”

“Maryn provided exceptional dog/house sitting services. She made sure my dog was attended to as requested, provided walks, kept the house tidy, and provided me with regular updates on my dog. This was my first time using Rover and she made the process seamless and worry free.”

“Mary house sat for us and was fantastic! She is extremely reliable, is easy to communicate with, and took great care of our home and kitten. She was patient with our shy kitten and left our house looking better than how we left it.”

“Samantha came to my rescue after my original house sitter had a family emergency. She took wonderful care of my dog Eddy and my cat Lily. Both pets were relaxed and content when I returned home. I would definitely have Samantha sit with my pets again!”

“So grateful to have found Erin! She was so wonderful with my two dogs over the holidays! She sent me several updates throughout the day & left my home spotless. She has such a warm spirit & loved on my boys so well while I was traveling. I can’t recommend her enough!”
“Abby is wonderful and I would highly recommend her. We did an initial meet and greet and I immediately felt comfortable with her. We were gone for 11 days and Abby stayed at our home with our 5 pound Yorkie. We choose an in home sitter because our dog has major separation anxiety. Abby sent us daily updates and pictures and our dog was living her best life as usual!! We already have our next stay scheduled with Abby.”

Delaney was truly amazing. She's very kind, patient and communicates very well. Our dogs were shy and she took time making them feel comfortable. She sent photos of the dogs while we were gone. She even handled the wild tornado very well. She sent us a photo to show that they were all safe. I always had peace of mind that my dogs were well cared for.

Lulu is fantastic as both dog-sitter and house-sitter. She is an animal person to the core and has bonded with both of my cockers. She possesses a kind, respectful personality and I never fear with her in charge. Constantly updates with words and pictures. I couldn't be happier.

Hayley watched our 2 dogs for the first time and both dogs were so comfortable with her. One of our dogs is a rescue and doesn’t always go to strangers, but she immediately went to Hayley. She’s timely and we can tell she genuinely enjoys watching pets. I highly recommend Hayley, and we will be using her in future for our needs

Abbey was very kind to take care of our five cats. She followed my long list of directions and let me know if she came across issues or had questions. I do wish I could’ve gotten more pictures and there were a few things I had to clean up after we got home. However, the most important thing is we came home to cats that were happy and cared for while we were away.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Raytown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Raytown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Raytown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Raytown. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
