“Sylveena watched our dog and two cats for the weekend while we were out of town. Her communication was exceptional, consistently exceeding expectations. She sent multiple pictures and updates of each pet, giving us peace of mind while we were away. We were new to having someone watch our pets at home, but she handled everything with ease. When we returned we had happy pets and a clean home. We highly recommend Sylveena for the care of your beloved pets.”

“Saige did a great job taking care of our pup. It felt good knowing she was watching our house while we traveled. Our dog felt loved and cared for, our house was tidy after she had left, and it was over all a great experience!”

“Lulu is such a great communicator and provides wonderful updates and pictures during her stays. She is very attuned to the kitties and goes above and beyond to ensure they are taken care of and well adjusted.”

“Lydia took the absolute best care of our dog Fynn while we were on vacation for the week. She was extremely responsive and diligent with our dog and with me. We got pictures of him and her playing every day. She was very respectful with our home. She even took in our mail :). She is very good with dogs and anyone who has her as their Rover is a very lucky person! We will absolutely be booking her in the future for our next vacation!! 100 out of 10: would recommend Lydia!!!”

“Simply put, Jennifer was outstanding! Very patient and gentle with our puppy, who's terrified of the world. Also understanding and loving with our big guy with no sense of personal space. Sent pictures daily of our buddies along with plenty of updates. Having never used a service like this I was a bit nervous but I felt like she had it all handled. Dogs, house and all. Just easy. I will be using her again, I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a calm steady presence while you are away!”

“Rachel was so helpful in so many ways. Even with bad weather and an extended trip, she was always positive and communicated often. She cared for our elderly Basset Hound, our ornery-but-lovable puppy and a cat who prefers to stay away from the canines. We have a full house of pets and it was such a relief to know they were in good hands during our trip.”

“Kathryn is phenomenal. I have had her housesit for my 3 year old 10 pound toy poodle twice now. He suffers from separation anxiety and cannot be left alone for very long. The 2 times Kathryn has sat for me I was gone for long weekends. She stayed with him the entire time never leaving him alone. He absolutely adores her and is extremely comfortable with her. She is very loving and has no problems following the instructions I leave for her. I will only have her sit with him.”

“This is the third time we’ve had Pamela stay with our pups. I can’t say enough good things about her. Our fur babies are always cared for as if they belong to her, and she leaves our house in excellent condition!”

About: I have professional work experience taking care of clients’ animals! I have worked with pets of all kinds, and I always love meeting new animals! I am a full time student, but my classwork is fully online. Over the summer, I will have lots of free time to dedicate to caring for pets! I know exactly how important pets are to their families, and I am dedicated to providing the same level of care I would for my own pets. I want to make sure all pets are able to get the care and love they deserve!
“Excellent sitter for my 8 year old and 2 1 year old Rottweiler puppies. Mya is a loving and compassionate person. She followed my special instructions to the tee and was especially great with my youngest puppy with epilepsy as one of the 7 dogs in her own household also has epilepsy. I couldn't have asked for a better person than Mya for my last minute booking while I had surgery. Will definitely use her repeatedly! Highly recommend.”

“Jenni was outstanding! She was great to communicate with, went above and beyond in taking care of the house, and most importantly, the animals really felt safe with her. We will absolutely be requesting her services again.”

“Kristy was excellent! She took great care of our animals and our home while we were out of town. We were especially impressed with how she handled our dog, Sirius, who has a lot of anxiety around people he doesn't know. He completely warmed up to her within the first day or so, and all of our animals loved her. I 100% recommend Kristy and we will definitely be having her dog sit again in the future!”

“Jill was everything you want in a Petsitter. She was timely, responsible, trustworthy, and she followed my (extensive) instructions to the letter. She was able to care for one of my pets who is recovering from a knee injury and followed his medical instructions perfectly as well. She also went above and beyond just caring for my pets and took care of numerous additional household tasks such as bringing in mail and packages, etc. I will be using Jill again!”

“Martie was amazing! It was our first time being away so long and having someone house sit and care for our elderly dog and energetic cat. We received so many pictures, and so many good ones! She put our mind at ease. And she was so responsive with communication. Should we need this service again there is no doubt we would want her!”

“Kasey did such a good job with my Billy bear. She left my place the way she found it, kept it clean so I didn’t have to come home to a mess after a long day of travel, she kept my plants alive, and most important of all she gave all the lovins and care to my special boy. Was comforting knowing he was in great hands while I was away on a trip. Will absolutely rebook and recommend to all my friends!”

“Jessica is a gem. Raider had some problems Saturday, but she was so patient. The house was in great order when we got home and she kept us apprised of how Raider was doing. We were very pleased and would recommend her to others and use here again.”

“She was amazing. Our trip came at not the best time for our pets. We had just blended our families and our pets were still getting use to each other. She was able to help them become friends and learn to live with each other. She sent pictures every day and they were all very happy. I highly recommend her and will use her again”

Carmen went above and beyond! Her communication is too notch, keeping us updated on how they are doing. Our dogs immediately loved her when they met her and all the pictures she sent, they look deliriously happy! So grateful that we could have our trip with complete peace of mind knowing our fur babies were well loved!

Tiffany was the perfect sitter for our boy Frankie! She provided excellent care for him while we were out of town over Christmas. She was attentive to all his needs- including giving medication he needed for an ear infection that popped up right before we left town. Tiffany offered to meet Frankie and I before we left town which was super sweet and helpful so Frankie had familiarity with her before we left town. Tiffany stayed in our home with him and sent me daily updates and pictures. She also took him on walks and played with him in the back yard! The updates she provided let me know she spent good quality time with him and that made me feel super comfortable while we were away. I will definitely use Tiffany again in the future and would recommend her to anyone. So thankful that we found her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Longview walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Longview maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Longview choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Longview. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
