Tenay was not only responsive, she kept us up-to-date with pictures on a daily basis. It's tough leaving a beloved pet alone for a long period of time, but she offered peace of mind to our family. Highly recommend, and the dog wasn't frazzled when we returned like he would be after being boarded at the vet - he seemed to have a blast.

About: I have cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds since I can remember. I grew up with at least 3-4 dogs in my household at all times, volunteered at the local animal shelter to help take care of the overflow of dogs, fostered a litter of puppies, and of course the occasional dog sitting for a neighbor or family friend. I am currently working 2 part time jobs at the moment, but they usually include short days and hours. I am mostly available from mid afternoon to nighttime on any given day, especially weekends! Schedule is subject to change weekly. I have a big kennel in my home if it’s ever needed. I also have plenty of toys, treats, and other equipment like poop bags, leashes, or harnesses.

Mikayla was absolutely terrific, staying at our home and taking care of our little Chewy dog! We regularly communicated and she sent us pictures -- it was all very reassuring. Mikayla even washed the sheets and towels she had used! I highly recommend her to anyone and we'll definitely be using Rover.com and trying to reserve Mikayla again!

Lincoln was amazing! He stepped in for us at the very last minute after another sitter canceled, and he truly saved our trip. He took great care of Cash & Milly, kept us updated, and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We came home to two happy pups and a well cared for house. We’d absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter!

Jamyriah was an amazing house and dog sitter! We came home to a spotless house, and it was obvious our dog had been incredibly well cared for. Our dog has health issues that require daily medication, frequent potty breaks due to a diuretic, and lots of extra attention. Jamyriah followed all of my instructions carefully, asked thoughtful questions whenever something didn’t go according to plan, and went above and beyond to make sure our dog was comfortable and there were no accidents. She also stayed overnight and was home for most of the day as requested, which was very important since I work from home and our dog is used to having someone around. Her communication, reliability, and genuine care gave us complete peace of mind. I would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her!

We have a German Shepherd that likes to bark at everyone, but when she first met Emma, she didn’t bark at her at all which was a great sign 💕 She was an amazing Sitter! She gave great communication our entire trip including pictures. She took really good care of our girl and when we came home, she seemed so happy! We will definitely reach out to Emma again if we ever need her and I highly recommend you do the same.

About: What sets me apart is the genuine care and attention I give to every pet. Having grown up around animals and cared for pets for family and friends, I’m comfortable handling different personalities, routines, and needs. I understand that every animal is unique, so I take the time to learn what makes them feel happiest and most comfortable. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to making sure pets feel safe and loved while their owners are away. Whether that means sticking to a specific schedule, providing extra playtime, or simply offering companionship, I always strive to create a positive experience for both pets and their owners. As a recent high school graduate, I currently have a flexible schedule and plenty of free time to dedicate to pet care. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, so I’m able to give pets the attention, companionship, and care they deserve throughout the day. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or simply keeping them company, I can easily fit pet care into my daily routine and make your pet’s well-being a priority. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure while their owner is away. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise and playtime, and receive lots of attention and affection. I also keep the home clean and tidy, follow any specific care instructions, and provide updates so owners can have peace of mind knowing their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for.

Becca is awesome. We have a dog who has been recently diagnosed with diabetes, is insulin dependent, and is now blind. The idea of Leaving for an overnight trip was causing some anxiety. Becca put those worries at ease. She came visit us a couple of times for his diabetic testing and insulin dosage and to get to know the dogs before our trip. She was very quick to learn their routines. During our little getaway she initiated regular communication with us, further providing us with a comfort level we did not expect. (We did not request this communication, she initiated it). She treated our home with respect and is always welcome. Thank you Rover for having such a great sitter. This app is great!!! We will use Becca again.

Amy did excellent work with pet and house sitting my two dogs for 8 days and nights. She was prompt and responsive from the beginning to the end. She was attentive and asked questions beforehand to understand our expectations. We knew from our interview that she really cared about the well being of our pets. It was also a nice surprise to return to a very tidy home after being out for over a week. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Harley was amazing with our dogs!! She asked so many good questions during the meet and greet and her interactions with them put our minds at ease before we even left town. She was a great communicator while they were in her care, and she even worked on some basic command training with our newest fur baby. She was attentive to their care and took good care of our home while we were away!

Cameron was very thorough with the requests we had for our pups. She was responsive throughout our booking and any concerns that came up. We returned to happy pups who got lots of love and attention that they are used to. We received pics and updates daily. When we returned home, we found the house looked clean and no messes. She took care of the property/belongings and cleaned up after herself and the dogs mess. Trustworthy. I would definitely recommend and use again :)

FAQs for House Sitting - Goodwood

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Goodwood on Rover is $39.96 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 333 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Goodwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Goodwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Goodwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Goodwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Goodwood. On Rover:

  • 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
