Jason was great, in spite of Raven's stubbornness. I appreciated him coming by for a meet/greet prior to the scheduled day. Photos & updates were great

Would definitely recommend and choose Cheryl again! She walked and played with our high energy, 1 year old border heeler while we were away. We were at ease knowing he was with someone who could handle all of his wildness. Thanks again!

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 11 years old, and I’m comfortable with cats and dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. People have called me a “pet whisperer” because I have a calm, patient way of connecting with animals and earning their trust. I’m also physically strong and confident handling large, powerful, and energetic dogs, including dogs who need firm leash control, longer walks, structure, and plenty of activity. Safety, patience, and clear communication are always my priorities. I’m available 7 days a week and have a flexible schedule throughout the day. I can help with morning, afternoon, evening, and late-night care depending on your pet’s needs. Whether you need regular visits, last-minute help, walks, drop-ins, or extended care, I’m happy to work with your schedule whenever possible. I follow each client’s instructions closely and do my best to keep every pet’s routine consistent. I know every animal has their own personality and comfort level, so I take a patient, respectful approach to care. If your pet wants playtime, attention, or companionship, I’m happy to give that. If they are shy, anxious, independent, or simply prefer space, I’m just as comfortable keeping them company from a calm and safe distance. My goal is always to help your pet feel secure, respected, and well cared for.

Maria is amazing! She came to my rescue fairly last minute with a series of walks for my big ol AmStaff and Daisy loves her! She spent time loving in her every walk which was super sweet and even helped with clean up when my anxious pup had an accident on the carpet. I’ll definitely be rebooking with her(: Thank you, Maria!!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for 13 years and have 2 dogs of my own. I’ve rescued stray dogs off the street before and put them in a safe environment. I was once very active in helping animal shelter. A close friend of mine is a Veterinarian and had asked me to dog sit for her when she traveled, it was a pleasure to handle 5 dogs at a time at her house. I enjoy taking walks in nature with dogs. I have plenty of time to play with your dog and take them on walks. My schedule is open daily and weekly routine as well once established. I love to give dog treats and play ball with them. Taking them on long walks. I can also give them a lot of petting for attention. I will take pictures for updates on their activity.

About: I have always loved dogs and have helped friends and family with dog-sitting whenever needed. I have been a pet parent for over 5 years and am very empathetic to their needs and wants. I currently work 6am-2:30pm Monday-Friday. But I can do walks anytime outside of those hours. As long as you're ok that I wouldn't be there 100% of the time, I'm open to sitting on weekdays as well as weekends. I currently don't have any pets of me own at the moment, but I love to play and cuddle and make sure their needs are covered as well. Please let me know about any specific safety comcerns, so I can make sure I take the best care possible of your furry friend(s).

About: I have owned dogs all my life all shapes and sizes. I have been trained and volunteer for MDSPCA and the Baltimore Humane Society. I believe it’s important that all dog’s feel loved and taken care of and are as much a family member as anyone else. I know how important interactive play is and enrichment. Keeping a dog in their own environment is best for their well being. Kennels can be very noisy and stressful to the average dog. I know as a pet owner myself having your dog with a trusted person is critical. I also have a medical background so I would be ready for any emergency., if it should arise. I have no Problem giving medication to your pet if needed I am recently retired and I am looking forward to devoting my time to caring for dogs. My schedule is very flexible and ready to start. I have a fenced in yard and have cared for dogs of all sizes. I make sure they are safe and loved and having fun..

About: I’ve had animals especially dogs my entire life. They are family not just pets, and each of them deserve a lot of love, and care. I will treat your dogs with the same! it doesn’t feel like a job, it’s joy! I am home most of the days and have the availability and flexibility to give your dog lots of attention and care. Almost open to any schedule and overnights. The animal will be treated as if it’s my own with love care and attention. I believe in long walks and not to leave the animal alone long periods of time. Make sure they are always around someone who can give them attention and hugs!

I would give Roy ten stars if I could. He has truly gone above and beyond to help us out with our anxious pup. First, he was able to accommodate us for many walks over the Thanksgiving holiday on relatively short notice. Then, he was so incredibly patient in getting to know our puppy. We did not realize how anxious our dog would be, as he is generally ok meeting people on walks. However, he is fearful when people come into our house and can growl and be reactive at times. Roy gave him the space he needed and didn’t force anything on our dog. He was patient with him and us and gave him lots of treats and gradually let our dog get to know him. It’s obvious that Roy has spent a lot of time around dogs and is adept at reading their body language. By the second walk, they were buddies and I know our pup will trust him more and more each walk.

Michael is attentive to the details when he takes care of my dogs. Today he noticed that I’d accidentally left a door open that could have led to them getting out - he contacted me to check if it was intentional and took care of it right away when I confirmed it was a mistake. Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Glyndon. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Glyndon. On Rover:

  • 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
