I currently work part time, mostly weekdays with a break in between as well as taking classes, all of which are online for the summer, but am typically very flexible for things such as walks and play time. My goal is to make sure all dogs I sit get at least one hour of playtime a day, obviously adjusted for energy level. I am also available to do overnight care for more senior dogs or dogs that need medications at specific times, as well as dogs that do better having someone in the home.

Safety, trust & environment

My biggest rule when I do overnights is to make sure the house is completely secure before I go to sleep. Your pets safety is my number one priority . I have been trained by my job on how to handle multiple pet emergencies, including seizures, overheating and injuries. As someone who has owned and worked with dogs dealing with joint problems, I make sure to prevent any falls or accidents by keeping the dog in safe areas as well as monitoring activity.

Information Riley K. would like to know about your pet

I always like to know if a pet has any specific needs, whether it be medical, behavioral, or even just needing a certain amount of potty breaks. I make my schedule around the individual needs of your dog so that they can have a safe and happy experience.

A typical day

I love to be active with dogs! Whether it’s going for a long walk around the neighborhood or finding a park or trail nearby, I love having dogs be active. As someone who frequently works with working dogs, including herding breed and K9’s, I understand how important it is to work these high energy dogs and make sure they get the exercise they need, both physically and mentally. I also appreciate that dogs, like people, need activities to calm down and work to do indoor, low-stimulation activities as well. One of my favorites that I have learned through work is having anxious dogs watch Bluey as a distraction.

Pet care experience

Aside from pet sitting since I was 16, I have two years of shelter work and two years as a vet assistant where I have administered medications, been on seizure watch with epileptic patients, helped deliver puppies and also worked with dogs who had behavioral issues due to rough pasts. I also have helped take care of very elderly and senior dogs and understand the time and care they need, as well as helping with dogs going through their first heat cycle.

Riley is a great addition to Gemma and Nico’s routine when I’m away at work. She is kind and patient with my anxious Nico and shy Gemma. Definitely keeping her on the books for future walks!

Riley was a breath of relief for us. Was very attentive to Zeus and our concerns. Was exceptional at enriching Zeus life. Took him for car rides and social events. Helped us when he was having ear pain the Sunday we were to leave. She connected with our vet to get him in and feeling better. Left a clean house and wrote a beautiful synopsis of her stay and how Zeus did. I highly recommend Riley. She was here for two weeks while we were away overseas.

Riley has been a reliable sitter for our new pup. We’ve utilized her drop in service multiple times over the last few weeks while our schedules adjust to our new fur friend. She’s very attentive to our pups needs and his schedule. We’ll definitely continue to seek her when we need a sitter.
