“As first time Rover-users, Rodney was both patient and helpful in guiding my wife and I through the process from start to finish. We received prompt responses to any and all of questions and were provided routine updates (with photos) throughout Bailey’s 3-day boarding stay. I would highly recommend using his services and we will definitely be contacting him in the future!”

“Brianna was a joy to work with. We dropped our pup off in the morning and we were sent photos and updates which was wonderful. I strongly recommend Brianna if you’re looking for an engaged and thoughtful dog sitter. 10/10!”

“Milo was nervous when I dropped him off but he quickly adjusted. Thank you Phyo for caring for him and taking him for walks. I would definitely recommend as I see you have a gentle way with pets.”

About: I have been taking care of cats and dogs for the last 15 years. I have raised pets from babyhood to seniorhood. I'll love your pets as if they were my own. After 12pm, your schedule is my schedule. I'm free when you need me, generally within tree days' notice. I'll even water your plants. and feed your fish, if you have any. When I am sitting for someone, I'll fallow all your instructions. If they need special accommodations, I will abide by them. I'll make them feel loved.
“Lora is such a great sitter, so responsive and knows my dog well. She’s got a great location and even on days where she’s busy she’s often got a helping hand to make sure all dogs are taken care of”

“Thank you James and Mary for watching my pups at a last minute’s notice. I appreciate your updates throughout the day. The pups told me they had a wonderful time! Wendy T”

“Amber and her family took wonderful care of Oreo, our Boston Terrier. You can tell they truly love dogs, and their kids absolutely adored him. It gave us great peace of mind knowing he was in such a caring and welcoming home. We’re very grateful for the attention and love they showed Oreo and would gladly recommend Amber to anyone looking for a reliable and kind dog sitter.”

“So glad we found Lydia! Freya has had limited exposure to different sitters and was quite anxious when I dropped her off but Lydia and her children put her right at ease. She had a wonderful time, didn't even want to go home! I will definitely use Lydia again!”

“Lonnie was great! He was so good with our dogs and I felt so comfortable leaving them with him knowing they were in good hands! They had so much fun and didn't even want to leave. We couldn't ask for anyone better for our dogs!”

“Jacqueline was amazing with my dog, Honey, this weekend! She took such great care of her and kept me updated with excellent communication throughout the stay. I truly appreciated the attention and love she showed Honey. I would absolutely recommend booking with her—she’s reliable, caring, and made the whole experience stress-free. Will definitely book again!”
About: I have had pets since a child (duck, rabbit, dogs, cats, iguanas) and just love them. I let dogs take their time when exploring and I don’t rush them unless I see that they have found a Scooby snack. Most dogs prefer to sit in my lap even when in the presence of their owner. They love me and I love them even the sassiest of them. I work from home which allows me to be available 24 hours a day. If your pet is a foodie, they will love it here (salmon bites, duck necks, chicken feet, ice cream, pup cups and frozen fruit on hot days). I will send an update the first evening and the morning after so you are certain that they have settled in. Thereafter I will send a picture or video daily but you are welcomed to check in at any time. My assistant Imani (my mom who lives with and assists with sitting), also enjoys loving on and helping with your babies. She may help with check in/ check out and walks. **I now have a cat and cannot accept dogs that aren’t cat friendly. I also cannot accept unfixed dogs and dogs that aren’t housebroken. I walk 3-5 miles in the morning and another in the evenings (less depending on the weather). I would love to take your baby along. I have a friendly dog. I use baby gates and can also crate your dog (you must bring the crate with you). They would sleep in my bedroom on the dog beds and have free range of the house (except the kitchen which has a gate up).

“Lingli came through for our last minute doggy daycare needs and we are grateful! She was consistently responsive over messages, and was very sweet to our small dog, Gary, during their meet and greet, gently letting him get used to her. He was excited to see her again when we returned for drop off a couple days later. We appreciated the photos of his stay and know he was well looked after.”

“My 6lb maltipoo Sophie LOVED puppy day care with Kelly. I recently moved and was nervous about finding the right care for Sophie. I initially booked one day with Kelly and immediately after the first day, booked the rest of the week! The communication throughout the days was fantastic and Sophie was so excited to return each day. It was very clear that Kelly is attentive to Sophie the entire day…. Walks, snacks, rest, playtime. Totally recommend Kelly! I will be a regular.”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Glyndon commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
