“So great! Her and her husband kept us updated while they were at our house. We asked that they just take our dog out back in our yard. They stayed with him for over 40 minutes each time. Gave us a lot of comfort knowing someone was with him when we couldn’t be. Will definitely be using again.”

About: “Dog fever” doesn’t even begin to cover it — my girlfriend and I are counting down the days until we can bring home a new puppy. I’m the kind of person who can’t pass a dog on the street without stopping to say hello, so you can imagine how excited I get around animals. I’m a private contractor working remotely with a very flexible schedule. I can shift my day to day schedule and adapt to most needs you may have. I am a very attentive person with patience and much affection. I hope to keep your pets routine consistent & stress-free with exercise, playtime, or just extra attention.
“Emily is hands down the best dog sitter period. Our dog Molly loves her and she makes traveling worry free when it comes to our dog. I trust her and recommend her highly!!”

About: I have experience walking large dogs that pull a lot and am happy to take your dog on a hike. I will respect whatever routine for your dog you are most comfortable with. A little about myself, I am currently studying for the LSAT so I will be doing Rover and that. I don’t have other commitments besides the LSAT so am very flexible. I have plenty of time to spend giving your dog attention and making sure all his/her needs are met. I am studying for the LSAT at home, and just quit my full time job, so I will have plenty of time to give your dog the care he/she deserves I have an invisible fence for my own dog, but I will put your dog on a leash when I take him/her out to make sure they are safe. I will respect your wishes.

About: I’ve taken care of all types of animals—-dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs etc. I’m a very detail oriented person and I love when an owner gives me as much detail as possible in order to take the best care of their baby ☺️ I’ve taken care of dogs of different breeds, all sizes and dogs with different needs (helping a dog thru a weight loss journey, anxious shy dogs, dogs that require medication etc). I love animals more than I love people and it shows! Anytime I meet someone’s pet, they’re always drawn to me and I feel very honored by that! I’m extremely patient and calm with animals because I have had my own pets who had special needs. I’m currently new to the Colorado Springs area and doing gig work, so I can be available to check on your pets anytime throughout the day! I treat a clients home with the utmost respect and only go where authorized or use only what the client tells me to for their pet! I’m very attentive to pets’ safety and I will treat your baby with the love and respect that I treat my own with ☺️
About: Hiya! I’m Sharon, animal lover and friend to all creatures big and small! I grew up taking care of everything from dogs to cats, fish, anoles, rabbits, birds, and guinea pigs. I have a special bond with my elderly family dog and have just finished fostering Chloe, a high energy anxious kitty belonging to my friend. I have plenty of experience with basic training, redirection, harness and carrier training, and oral and topical medicine administration. I hope to be your pet’s second favorite human!! I currently work part time as I prepare for law school, so I have lots of flexibility to focus on pet care! I love to schedule some hikes and trail runs into my week, so I’m always happy to give your pet a fun run! I am always happy to have a meetup before watching your pets to see if we all get along! I am attentive to animal body language and am good at making sure any dog or cat doesn’t get to the point of lashing out. I can assist with redirection or other training if needed. If your pets have any specific needs or you have restrictions or concerns, I’m open to chatting and seeing if my services can align with your needs!
“Our first experience with Rover couldn't have been better and it's all thanks to Dezarae! We really appreciated the updates and pictures every time she checked on our turtle & elderly cat while we were on vacation. They both seem to warm up to Dezarae quickly and we'd highly recommend using her to pet/house sit! We'll definitely be asking her to come back whenever we leave town from now on!”

“Thank you for the fast response and accommodating me last minute! Wonderful pictures and definitely made me at ease knowing that they are ok :) 10/10 will book again!”

“Maria was amazing with our 3 dogs! Our regular sitters they have grown accustomed to over the years were not available and while our dogs are friendly, they have their specific quirks and needs. Maria adapted to them with ease and provided everything they needed while we were gone. It was a great relief to have someone we could trust and rely on providing such attentive care! Not only this, but she also picked up their poop from the yard every day and threw it out, left the house tidy, and collected the mound of packages we accrued over the week we were gone. Thank you so much, Maria!”

“10/10 My cats loved Heidi and we felt so comfortable while being away. Heidi communicated with me and kept us posted the entire time. We will definitely book her again. Thanks Heidi”

“Alayna was so sweet and great with my pup! She even went the extra mile to ensure he had the care he needed! I’m so grateful for her and would recommend her to my closest family and friends!”

“Rebecca B did an exceptional job of caring for our 15 year old cat. & some other tasks as well. Our cat seems healthier and happier than ever. Rebecca sent us great photos and personal notes on each visit. We’re very grateful we found her and that she lives nearby! We will definitely ask her to come again!!!”

About: I’ve spent my entire life around animals, and spending time caring for pets outdoors and at home is something I truly love. Growing up, I walked my childhood dog every day, which taught me consistency and a love for walking with my best friend. I’m an avid walker/hiker who loves exploring the outdoors, and while I plan to welcome an adventure-ready dog of my own in the near future, loving on and caring for your pets is the next best thing! In our home, my husband and I are pet parents to two long-haired cats - one we raised as a kitten and one we rescued as an adult cat - so I deeply understand routines, boundaries, and the importance of a low-stress, caring and understanding environment. Whether your dog needs an energetic walk or your cat needs patient company, I treat every pet with the exact same dedication, care, and respect as my own. What You Can Expect From My Visits & Walks ✨ Attentive, Tailored Walks: I stay alert to our surroundings at all times—actively watching for traffic and trail hazards—while matching the pace, route, and distance to your dog’s energy level. ✨ Thoughtful Cat Visits: Every cat has a unique personality. I let shy cats set the pace with calm, quiet companionship and engage outgoing, energetic cats with purposeful play, while keeping food, water, and clean litter boxes available. ✨ Reliable & Detailed Updates: You will always receive punctual check-ins, transparent communication, and photo updates after every visit so you have complete peace of mind. I work a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, which makes my availability exceptionally dependable: ✨ Monday – Friday: Early mornings (4:30 AM – 6:00 AM) and evenings (after 6:00 PM). ✨ Weekends: Flexible, expanded availability throughout the day for walks, extended drop-ins, and visits. Your pet’s safety and the security of your home are my highest priorities: ✨ On Walks: I use secure leashes/harnesses, keep a safe buffer from unknown dogs or wildlife, and check paw comfort on varied terrain and pavement. ✨ In Your Home: I follow your entry instructions and routines to the letter. Before leaving, I double-check that crates, exterior doors, and gates are completely locked, doors are secured, and pets are calm and settled.
About: I am a seasoned, responsible, gregarious, fun-loving cat/dog lady with full day availability and weekends to take care of your pet needs like they were my own. I get up with my puppy everyday feed and play a game with then take him on a morning walk. If I run some errands, he is crate trained (by me) and has some quiet time but when I get home, we normally take another walk and play a game in the backyard that requires him to run around. I also take him out multiple times a day for potty breaks. I live on a one-acre property with a fenced in yard. I have a 3 year old Labradoodle (Lincoln) with all his shots and he is very good and well socialized with other animals.
“Kyla took WONDERFUL care of our senior kitty, Dori! Dori took to her right away, and Kyla gave her so much attention and TLC and did such a great job following Dori’s routine. We had a much more enjoyable trip knowing our fur baby was happy at home and getting personalized love and care! Kyla was incredible—we couldn’t ask for a better, more trustworthy caregiver—and we’ll absolutely be booking with her again!”

We had an unexpected emergency and needed someone to check on our dogs at the last minute. He was incredibly understanding, responsive, and willing to help during a very stressful situation. He followed all of our instructions, took great care of our dogs, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. We’re so glad we trusted him with Zoey and Luca, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with him again. Highly recommend!

Sarah does such a great job taking care of our cat, Callie. Sarah is a great communicator and she makes sure she understands our instructions. She follows these to a T. In addition, she takes pictures and report cards which made us so happy and gave us such peace of mind.
Olivia is just wonderful; very responsible, kind, smart, and trustworthy! Some unexpected complications came up while I was away and Olivia stepped right up and handled everything and kept me updated. It was such a relief to know she was on top of it, and I didn’t have to worry one bit!

Very pleasant to work with, reliable and cats seemed comfortable with her. She did drop in visits once a day to feed and play with the cats and clean the litter for seven days. She showed up consistently each morning. I would definitely use her again for this service.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
