“We've been using Stacey for dog walks for about a year now, and would recommend her to anyone. She is very reliable and I never habe to worry about anything. Our dog loves her also”

About: As a child I was always the person that was bringing home the lost and injured animals I came across. Not much has changed as an adult. I worked with a pet rescue for over a decade, unfortunately the rescue was dissolved but my love for animals has not faded. I have experience with many different species of pets, ranging in age from newborn and needing to be fed every 2 hours to senior animals that need extra care and patience. I am experienced in giving medicine, and providing all the love and attention your fur babies deserve. I am currently in a career transition and taking classes part time at a local college so I will have plenty of time to care for your pets and make sure they have as much love as possible. I am very diligent in making sure all of your requests are followed to the letter. I personally have a dog that needs wiped after she potties to prevent UTIs and it is a deal breaking for me when I can tell a sitter has not followed my instructions. I understand that routine is important and strive to be a few minutes early for every appointment. I also understand that someone other than yourself caring for your beloved furbaby can be stressful for both you and them. I strive to ease as much of that stress for both parents and furchildren as possible. As a pet parent myself who also uses a sitter when I have to be away for any length of time, having that trusted sitter is life saving.
About: Hi there! I’m Lindsay, a responsible, experienced pet caregiver who specializes in dog walking and drop-in visits. Whether your pup needs a quick potty break, a long walk to burn energy, or some mid-day companionship while you’re away, I’ve got you covered. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities, from mellow seniors to high-energy pups who love a good adventure. I pride myself on being punctual, communicative, and tailoring each visit to your pet’s unique needs. What I offer: Daily or occasional walks (short strolls or long sniffy adventures) Drop-in visits for feeding, playtime, potty breaks, or meds Flexible scheduling for working pet parents, busy days, or last-minute plans Regular updates with photos and notes so you know your pet is happy and safe Your pet’s comfort and safety are my top priority. I approach each visit as if I’m caring for my own - with love, attention, and respect for their routine. I’m available for walks and drop-ins during the day, evenings, and weekends. My schedule is flexible, so I can work around your needs - perfect for recurring walks or occasional visits. When caring for pets in your home, I follow your instructions to the letter - from feeding and water routines to preferred walking routes and favorite toys. I’m mindful of keeping doors and gates secure, ensuring your pet’s environment stays safe, and leaving your home just as I found it. If you’d like, I can also help with: Bringing in mail/packages Adjusting lights/blinds for security Giving medication (oral or topical)
“Not a single complaint from my sweet lady! She was a happy girl while I way away. I was able to book last minute with no issue (which was amazing). Very good at communicating, responded in minutes. Would recommend and will book again.”

“Alex is highly recommended by us and our dog, Duncan. Before finding Alex, we have never trusted the care of our dog or house to anyone. We can’t tell you how thankful we are for finding Alex!”

I own two friendly dogs, two sassy cats, and a baby ball python myself- variety is the spice of life. If you’re looking for a medically experienced caretaker for your kids, I’m your gal! *also have grooming experience with medical needs animals I just moved to the Asheville area, so Im excited to explore around. I have just taken a M-Th veterinary position, but I still plan on working Rover into my schedule! I have two friendly dogs, who will play with dogs that want to play, ignore the ones who don’t, and will be gentle with the young and little ones. I do not have a yard, but I am very active and used to taking my large dogs for >3-4 mile walks daily.
About: I’m an Asheville native who loves nature and animals deeply. I communicate well & efficiently. Working with animals fills me with so much joy. I happily work with animals of all ages, sizes, breeds, etc. You can rest assured your pets will receive the best care possible each time they are with me. I love being able to help out fellow humans with the awesome bonus of keeping your animals happy & healthy :) I am a mama to a young boy, who is also good with animals. Although, he is in school most of the time. I do not usually come out late in the evenings due to my son’s bedtime, but can make it work if you are located close by. During the day time I have a good bit of flexibility, which allows this job to fit in my lifestyle well. I am currently only offering services at the clients home - I prefer to meet prior so I can visibly see what I will need to do. If this is under shorter notice / a meet cannot occur, please either write or text me a message of any needs, concerns or details necessary to make it the best experience for your pets. You can fully trust that your pets will be happy, safe and well taken care of.
“I am so glad we found Ashlee. She arrived on time and immediately connected in a lovely way with my pup, Murphy. I was able to accomplish my errands with my mind completely at ease. Ashlee is kind friendly capable and experienced. I highly recommend her services.”

“My dog has a lot of separation anxiety, and Kristen was amazing with her. The communication, photos, and updates made such a difference, and I felt completely at ease knowing Rosie and Pete were loved and cared for. They’re my babies, and I’m so thankful to have found someone who understands that. Thank you!”

About: I bring a broad background in animal care, with years of experience volunteering at dog and cat rescues in Guatemala. During that time, I fostered dogs, trained puppies, and assisted at spay and neuter clinics. I am active and enjoy running with dogs, which makes me a great match for high-energy pets. In addition to my dog experience, I have worked with horses and lived with cats, giving me a strong understanding of animals with different needs and personalities. My goal is always to provide compassionate, attentive, and reliable care so pets feel safe, happy, and loved while their owners are away. I have a flexible schedule and can provide pet care 24/7. Most of my time is spent managing and maintaining my property, which gives me a steady routine and plenty of availability for pets. I enjoy being active and outdoors, so I’m happy to take dogs for walks, spend quality time with cats, and ensure all pets receive consistent attention, exercise, and care throughout the day. I live on a quiet dead-end road in the woods, right by a river, providing a peaceful and secure environment for pets. I have a friendly cat to keep other animals company when appropriate. I also care for pets in their own homes, spending time training, walking, and engaging them safely outdoors. I am attentive and vigilant, ensuring pets are happy, supervised, and well-cared for at all times.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
