About: I've had dogs since my 20s (already 40)they are the best companions. They are friends, therapists and best buddies. I want to take care of your doggie like it's mine. You will feel relax with Bertie and family care. I will make sure that are comfortable and enjoy a nice time. It fits perfectly, since I already have dogs and I work from home (flexible schedule). About: Because I grew up with 3 dogs and 4 cats, my friends and family know to reach out to me to feed, walk, and bathe their pets. I have also had to give medicine to some of the pets I've cared for, so giving your dog or cat pills won't be a problem. I am currently a Graduate student at UVA taking summer classes and want to care for some pets on the weekends or on Mondays when my schedule allows for it. Since I don't have pets here, I would love to give all my love and attention to yours! I know how much our pets mean to us, and I would make sure to follow any special instructions you have for your pets. I've been around dogs and cats since I was 5, so I can read pets' body language well. I always let the dog/cat approach me before initiating any petting because I know some pets are a little nervous around new people.

About: I have taken care of dogs for a friend for a few years now. I also have experience with taking care of a local family’s 2 sweet dogs. I have been their go to for a few years now. I also have experience as a pet owner, I grew up with dogs my entire life, at one time we had a pack of 8. My goal is to ease your pet’s anxiety when their favorite person is not there. I will work to make sure your pet has the structure they need, the enrichment they crave, and the love they deserve. I do work full time Monday -Friday 8am-5pm so I am free on weekends and happy to stay with the animals when I’m not working. I can also check in on my lunch hour to ensure they have the restroom breaks they need and the enrichment time. I am very attentive when I am caring for you furry family members. I make sure that they have fresh water and get fed at the correct times. I always send photo updates each time the pets go outside or eat. I am very flexible with what is required if you’re able to be flexible and understanding of my work schedule.

“Emily is excellent pet sitter. I will use her again. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants someone who will not only take care of their pets while they are away, ensuring they have food and water, but will get down on her hands and knees to connect with them, play with them, and have fun with them. Emily took care of my two kitties for a little over two weeks, dropping in to see them in my home, maintaining their routines, doting on them, and sending me pictures and reports each day about their antics. One of my kitties, Li'l Lulu, can be very particular and be quite standoffish and ornery if I am not doing things EXACTLY the way she wants them done, WHEN she wants them done. She's especially that way with strangers. Yet Lil'l Lulu came right up to Emily the first time they met -- knowing immediately that Emily was a person she could trust -- and, while I was away, she let Emily place her on her lap to clean her ears, purring the whole time. Emily told me when we met that she became a pet sitter because she loves animals, likes spending time with them, and sees pet sitting as a career, as something she wants to do, not as a fill-in job to make ends meet or until something better comes along. Animals sense that ... and it showed through in the way she took care of my kitties ... just like they were her own.”

About: I grew up in a house of dogs. I trained my dogs when they born the basic commands and I just love dogs in general. I’m unfortunately just not allowed to have them in my apartment building. I have never sat anyone else’s dog but I am very excited to!! I currently go to school but I am mostly available weekends and Mondays and Wednesdays when I only have morning classes. I typically call my dogs everyday and go about my study and assignments in my dorm for the rest of the day so I might as well do it around and with dogs!! Seeing as I will be in my client’s home, I would try to follow whatever safety instructions they already have in place for their dog in their home since they would know it better.

“Caroline truly went above and beyond what we'd expected for a dog sitter. She came a few days beforehand to meet Rusty and get familiar with him so that when she arrived on the day, he was eager and excited to see her ( ie. get cuddles, playtime, food and a walk outside. She also graciously sent us pictures and regular updates on Rusty. Overall she was friendly, interesting -- be sure to ask about her connection to the movie Top Gun Maverick :), timely, thorough and clearly a dog lover. I think Rusty made a friend for life. We'll definitely be asking Caroline to watch over our pup again.”
