About: For quite a few years I’ve taken care of dogs for family members, families all over Long Island and never disappointed! I’ve loved dogs all my life and still do. They’re honestly like family to me and I always treat my family with care, respect and love which is what a dog needs. I also have 2 dogs of my own and they is just the best thing that happened to me honestly and that’s why I’m working for this company because I’ve found something that I could work for and love doing what I do at the same time. I treat every dog like they’re mine! Every dog that has been to my house they are treated like our family, care for every one of them. I currently just graduated college so as of right now I am home full time! Sometimes I go out to run a few errands which means I put the dogs in a crate but my mother works from home 2 days out of the week so if she’s there she’ll keep them out and moving around on their own! Other than that I am very free for now! In my home I have a huge clean yard that runs through the back, side and front it is fenced so the dogs could run freely around for some daily exercise. I also have two dogs of my own that’ll definitely keep your lovely dog(s) company. They are very playful and welcoming, one is 4 years old and the other one is 3 years old, with all their shots and up to date with all doctor appointments. This is a smoke free house also. Your baby will be happy&safe here!
“From the very start, Pamela made us very comfortable by inviting us to meet before sitting for Clare, which we didn’t feel was necessary. Her warmth and professionalism was the perfect combination. Upon arriving to her home, Pamela immediately made Clare feel like a member of her family, showing us around, giving us confidence Clare was in good hands! During Clare’s stay, we could tell she was having fun as Pamela sent photos of Clare lounging and videos of her enjoying her stay. When we picked Clare up, she was in no rush to leave! She clearly enjoyed her stay with Pamela and her husband. We look forward to calling on Pamela again!”

“Michelle was amazing with Milo! This was our first time leaving him with someone else, so I was a little nervous, but she made the whole experience so much easier and more comfortable. She was very attentive, communicative, and clearly experienced with dogs, which gave me a lot of reassurance. I really appreciated the updates and how she made sure Milo felt safe and cared for. When I picked him up, he was happy and relaxed, which means everything to me as a dog mom. It was clear he was in good hands the entire time. The pickup and drop-off process was also smooth and convenient, which I loved. Overall, I had a great experience and would absolutely trust Michelle with Milo again!”

“Nashay is the only person outside of family who has taken care of my little guy and I’m not sure I’d trust anyone else. Even though it was two months between visits, he went right with her and barely wanted to leave when I came to pick him up. I love the constant updates with pictures and knowing my dog is safe and cared for!”

“Vanessa was so kind to take in Teddy on a last minute notice for the day. She was super responsive and flexible, and Teddy looked like he had a great time! We will for sure be booking with Vanessa again. Thank you!!!”

About: My family and I all love animals, so we applied to be pet's sitters at home care. We have a independent house with a yard, and there will always be someone at home 24 hours a day. The pets can move freely at home without too many restrictions. We have regularly clean to the house to ensure the clean and hygiene environment for all pets. I have over a year of experience in taking care of cats and over six years of experience in taking care of dogs. The longest time I took care of a cat was for two months. At the beginning, the cat would hide under the sofa for a week, but lately he became completely unrestrained and would lie on the bed together, play hide-and-seek with me, and explore every corner of the house. When the weather was good, the dogs could play freely in the yard. Welcome all cats and dogsto my home, we are the best friends of your pets! We can keep daily routine for all pet's. I am working part-time on weekends and I will come back at 4PM , but my family members are off on weekends. And my family members and I take care of all pets together. “Aliyah was great with Toulouse. He’s a pretty nervous dog and was recovering from heat exhaustion and ripped up paws and she (and Deuce!) were incredibly loving, gentle, and patient with him.”

About: Hi there! Dogs have been a part of my entire life & I understand that they are so much more than pets - they are our family! What sets me apart is the personal attention I give to each dog in my care. I want them to feel comfortable, secure & genuinely loved while they are away from their family. Throughout my life of having dogs, I've experienced & learned about their many different needs. I've cared for an epileptic dog, administered prescription eye drops & been there for my dogs through illnesses, surgeries, recovery & all the different stages of their lives. These experiences have taught me to be observant, patient & attentive to changes in their behavior & well-being. I do my best to learn & understand what may be happening with them and, as much as possible, what they might be feeling so I can give them the care, comfort & attention they need. My own dogs have taught me how much trust is involved when someone cares for your beloved pet. My late little girl, Faith, holds a HUGE piece of my HEART & her memory is a part of what inspires me to care for & give other people's dogs the same compassion I would want for my girl. My goal is for your dog to feel like they're spending the day in a second home, surrounded by love, attention & care. At this point in my life, I'm fortunate to have the flexibility be home for most of the day, which allows me to dedicate my time & attention to caring for dogs - something I truly love! I'm available for both doggy daycare & overnight boarding throughout the week. I do occasionally step out for errands & such, but your dog will have plenty of attention & care throughout the day. For daycare, I offer convenient morning drop-off & afternoon/evening pick-up times. Boarding drop-offs & pick-ups can be arranged during the day to best accommodate your schedule. I'm happy to discuss specific timing when making a reservation, with times generally arranged between 8 AM & 7 PM. Of course, I offer some flexibility when needed. I also offer a convenient pick-up/drop-off service for an additional fee. If possible, before every first booking, I’d love to schedule a meet-and-greet to make sure I’m the perfect fit for you and your pup. Your pet's overall happiness is my top priority. I take the time to learn each dog's personality, routine, likes & needs so I can make sure their stay is as happy & stress-free as possible! Whether your pet is here for the day or a longer stay, we will fully take advantage of my large, fully fenced-in yard. I have plenty of space for dogs to run, play & enjoy some fresh air safely. I'm happy to step out with them & enjoy some of the same! I have no pets of my own, no more small children & my home is smoke-free, providing a calm & peaceful environment. I'm happy to follow your pet's normal routine & can crate them if that's what they are comfortable with or whatever it is you prefer. I will provide you with updated photos and messages throughout their day(s) - I remember how excited I was to receive mine! I offer a safe, loving, comfortable home where your dog will receive plenty of attention, affection, companionship and care throughout their stay.

About: *no longer accepting mid week recurring bookings due to 9-5 job* Hi there! My name is Bre. I have been taking care of pets on and off since I was about 16 and doing rover for a couple of years now. In my teen years I regularly took care of 2 dogs and 3 cats for a family during their vacations. I currently have a 15 year old dog named Kylie. She is definitely a handful but she is my whole world. I am a huge animal person and always have been so I’m more than happy to help families who need it. I travel for work every 2-3 months or so so my schedule is hit or miss. I’m happy to start with meet and greets if that would make you feel more comfortable. I travel roughly every 2-3 months for about a week at a time for work. When I am not traveling I am sometimes able to work from home, though my schedule is not consistent and my main career takes priority. When I can swing it, I’m happy to help! I have a fenced in yard and a friendly senior dog at home. I am happy to do drop ins to give your pet some love any time. My dog has a basic training degree and I have experience with many kinds of dogs.
“Gloria and Deb were great. From our initial phone call when she asked me important questions about our dog, you can tell that Gloria takes the safety of your dog as her highest priority. Her house is well set up for a nice size group of dogs and it has a nice fenced in back yard. Gloria emailed me videos of our dog to ensure us he was doing well. And she texted questions when a decision about a treat needed to be made rather than just give him something that we were aware of. Her communication was excellent and our dog seemed very happy and tired after 7 hours with Gloria and deb. We will use again and we highly Recommend. Thanks”
“It’s always a good sign when Charlie pulls on his lead to get into the sitter’s house. He seems to have enjoyed himself which makes us feel good leaving him with Kristie.”

“Django is always happy to go to Joanna. She takes great care of him and receiving pictures throughout the day showing what Django is doing makes me feel great knowing that he is being well cared for. I highly recommend Joanna to care for your bestie.”

“Michelle was so lovely, she looked after my two pups for the day and it looked like they had the best time. She sent lots of pictures too! Would absolutely trust her with my dogs in the future.”

The median cost per day for doggy day care in Freeport is $50
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Freeport
I had never left Oliver overnight before, so I was very nervous, especially with it being my daughter’s wedding weekend. From the moment we met, Pam immediately put my mind at ease. It didn’t take long for Oliver to feel comfortable, and soon he was happily playing with the other dogs. Knowing he was so well cared for allowed me to relax and fully enjoy the weekend. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy pet sitter!

Nashay is the only person outside of family who has taken care of my little guy and I’m not sure I’d trust anyone else. Even though it was two months between visits, he went right with her and barely wanted to leave when I came to pick him up. I love the constant updates with pictures and knowing my dog is safe and cared for!

Kierra watched my dog for a few hours during the day and it was a good experience. She was kind, easy to communicate with, and made the drop-off and pick-up smooth. I appreciated that she sent a couple of updates and photos, which helped me feel comfortable while I was away. My dog seemed well cared for when I returned. I would book with her again.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Freeport commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
