“Shauna was very friendly, accommodating, and attentive while taking care of our senior cat when we were out if town for the holidays. She sent detailed reports and lots of photos each day! We already booked her for another upcoming vacation in a few months! Highly recommend Shauna to watch your beloved pets!”

“Adriana was great! She helped us out on such short notice when our regular sitter quit. She came for a drop in visit and even when our pup was nervous, she was calm and patient with him until he was comfortable. We would definitely love to have her walk our boy again in the future”

“I was unexpectedly without a cat sitter right around the holidays due to an emergency with my normal person, so I was looking for someone on very short notice. Brittany got back to me within like 20 minutes and came to meet my floofs the next morning! One of my cats is a ball of anxiety (hides from new people and prone to litter box issues and vomiting when stressed, especially if I'm gone), but she didn't have any incidents while I was away! I was so relieved. My other cat loved her. Brittany was very careful to make sure that the cats' routine was kept as close to normal as possible. Her updates were thorough and she sent fantastic photos. I'm extremely thankful for her last minute help and I will be keeping her in mind in the future!”

“Nicole was an absolutely wonderful cat sitter! From the moment I met her, I knew Misty would be in caring hands, and she exceeded every expectation. She sent thoughtful daily updates that gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious she genuinely cared about Misty, not just feeding her and cleaning the litter box, but spending quality time cuddling, playing, and making sure she felt loved. One of my favorite updates was when she told me Misty spent almost the entire visit snuggled on her lap. That meant so much to me because it showed how comfortable and happy Misty was. Nicole was attentive to every detail, keeping Misty's food and water fresh, checking her litter box, and making sure all of her needs were met. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals really shine through. I returned home to a happy, relaxed kitty, which is the best recommendation I can give. I would trust Nicole with Misty again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, compassionate, and loving pet sitter. Thank you, Nicole, for taking such wonderful care of my sweet Misty!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover all my life and used to be a full time sitter. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for over 15 years. I have two dogs of my own that I love to go on hikes, take to dog parks and go on road trips with. I have experience with training puppies and also taking care of senior dogs. I know how to administer medicine if needed. I am currently between jobs, so I have lots of time during the week to watch pets! I will be at home most of the day except for occasionally running errands. I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs to keep your dog company. I also have lots of toys and dog beds around the house.
“Jessica took great care of our two cats. One is usually very shy, but came out and visited with her while she was caring for them—which is pretty rare! We will definitely use her services again! Thanks, Jessica!”

About: I have been a devoted cat and dog owner for many years and have medical experience from my late cat which included glucose testing, IVs, and insulin injections. My husband and I whole-heartedly believe our pets are our family and we're the ones living in their castle. Therefore, your pets will be treated like the kings and queens that they are. My husband and I usually tag team pet sitting, we have opposite schedules so usually someone can always be around if not the both of us! We have a small fenced yard and our pup is bell trained due to us having strictly indoor cats. Any special routines you have in your home we will be sure to follow.
“Claire did an outstanding job taking care of Mochi for two days in a row. She was incredibly professional, responsible, and attentive throughout the entire time. She kept me updated regularly, followed all instructions carefully, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that she genuinely cared about Mochi and made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I would absolutely trust Claire with Mochi again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

“This was our second time having AJ look after our dog. AJ was again great with our two dogs. They both really liked her. It was our new dog Lucy's frist time being watched by AJ. Lucy loved AJ and was AJ's new buddy. We will definitely use AJ again and recommend them to anyone needing a pet sitter. AJ communicated through out the day with us. It's nice being able to leave the dogs and know they were being well cared for.”

“I am so very glad that we found Samantha to take care of my mouse. It makes my job so much easier knowing someone so kind and thoughtful is checking on my elder baby while I’m at work!! Thank you Sam!!!!!”

“Jennifer did such a fabulous job caring for my two cats while we were away! They have radically different personalities and energy levels and Jennifer did such a wonderful job meeting their individual needs and making sure they got all the attention and play they needed. She also took the most beautiful photos of our guys. I always get nervous when we have to leave them alone but her promptness, relaxed personality, and attention to detail really put us at ease. I would definitely recommend Jennifer!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Frederick. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
