“Shauna and her husband went above and beyond. Took great care of our 3 micro panthers, swept up the area around the litter boxes, and kept our garden alive. They provide detailed report cards and plenty of photos. We appreciate them and would completely recommend them.”

“Jessica took great care of our two cats. One is usually very shy, but came out and visited with her while she was caring for them—which is pretty rare! We will definitely use her services again! Thanks, Jessica!”

About: I have been watching after animals since I was at a really young age and have learned so much. I have watched all ages and all different breeds that have taught me that every dog is different and has different needs. I’ve trained all of my pups myself and have experienced taking care of senior animals as well! I’m currently working full time but I make my own schedule so I am very flexible on what days I work and match that with when I can be available to watch your fur babies. I am free almost every weekend. I will care for every single pet as I do my own and make sure that get everything they need. I will give them all the loving while your away!

About: Lifelong pet owner with Vet Tech experience. My priority is keeping pets safe, comfortable, and stress free whether that’s sticking to routines, giving medications, or extra patience and love. I have a remote internship in the mornings that I can do from anywhere, so I have an open and flexible schedule to care for your pets. I have 30 years of experience with pets and 3 years of vet tech experience. I’m always happy to send photos, videos, and updates when needed.
“Hope has been great with communication and attention to detail. I have many specific requests with my elderly dog and Hope has confirmed every one while also being patient when I was out of cell/wifi range. I plan to continue to work with her 😊”
“First time to use David. He seems very kind, and our cat took right to him. He was prompt with his reply and able to help us a few days before we left for a weekend away. He asked questions to be sure he understood what we wanted done. Would definitely use him again.”

We are used to dealing with senior dog care. Your pet can relax on the furniture. You have the comfort of knowing that we will be home and available to keep them company! We also understand that last minute things come up… Check with us for same day appointments! Someone will be home Tuesday night thru Monday morning at all times (if your pet needs it). We are used to caring for a dog with separation anxiety, so we know what it is like to have someone there for them. Piece of mind for the furry friend in your life. We have a fenced yard and roaming access for inside and outside pets. Need a splash pool for those hot summer days, we have them covered.
“Emily went ABOVE & BEYOND to make our older dog comfortable, happy, well-fed, and taken care of while we were on a vacation. She was always on time, followed all requests to a dot, and updated us every day on how everything is going. Emily has a fantastic can-do attitude, is super cheerful, and just so easy to work with. We will absolutely re-book her in the near future. Please do not hesitate to use her as your next pet house sitter. A+++”

“Adriana was absolutely wonderful! She cared for our cat, Silverbelle, and our fish with such kindness and attention. Silverbelle can sometimes be reactive with strangers, but Adriana was incredibly patient, gentle, and skilled at reading her cues. She was even able to administer Silverbelle’s daily medication, which gave us such peace of mind. Her communication was also excellent. She sent thoughtful updates and beautiful photos every day, so we always felt connected and reassured. Adriana went above and beyond. We can highly recommend her and will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you so much, Adriana!!!”

About: I worked at a doggy daycare with shy dogs, reactive dogs, and dogs that can't play with other dogs. I also volunteered for several years at the Longmont Humane Society working with dogs and cats. Additionally, I've run a pet sitting bussiness for the past 8 years. I work full time, so I prefer animals that can be alone for at least 8 hours. Outside of work, I can give them the care they need, and I have a car to reliably get me there. I have 4 cats and a small dog, so I can't have client pets at my house, but I will follow any and all instructions to keep your home and animals safe while you are gone.
“Great choice with Nicole! She took care of my 2 cats for 3 days while I was out of state. She sent me photos and gave me updates. We will definitely re-book her again!”

“Meghan has been great with my dogs! Throughout the whole process she has been professional and so kind to me and my dogs! She sent pictures and updates which I absolutely loved seeing. I will definitely be using Meghan again for future visits! My dogs love her so much ☺️”

“Dani is so great with Jade! She took the time to ask me about Jade's needs and is so professional and caring. She has a lot of experience with dogs so I had no concerns having her walk my dog, who can pull sometimes. Great communication too!”

“Daniela was great. She came by and did a drop in and then we had her back for an overnight stay with our animals. All of the pets loved her. She was a great communicator and sent several pictures which we loved getting. She left the house spotless. We will book with her again. Thank you Daniela”

“Taylor was wonderful! My girls usually aren’t too keen on new people, but they warmed to her immediately! She was very responsive while we were away, providing lots of photos and updates giving us great peace of mind. She also took care of our guinea pigs wonderfully making sure an abundance of water and hay! We will definitely be booking with her again!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Frederick. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
