“Mary was such a wonderful dog sitter! My family and I were always checking my phone for updates with the pictures and videos she would send! She had all the necessary things provided over the 4 days! We showed up with our pups and their food and they were good to go! “Alyssa is amazing. She LOVES pups and takes care of them like they were her own. She cuddles them, plays with them, walks them, and does whatever you ask her to do. She is a delight to deal with, so positive and loving. I received photos, videos and puppy updates periodically every day. I highly recommend Alyssa. You’d be lucky to have her caring for your pup!”

“My dog's loved being at Amanda's! I got so many cute pictures while we were away and you can tell they enjoyed cuddling with her and her son. Our pups were truly treated like family and I have already booked my dogs next stay with her.”

“Scott was a wonderful sitter to our dog, Phoebe. Excellent communication, professional, and friendly. He sent us a few pics while we were away to let us know how she was doing, which I especially appreciated. Definitely recommend Scott, and his cute dog Lucy, to anyone looking for a sitter and a playmate.”

“This is our initial use of this ROVER app. I highly recommend this couple. Both are gracious, welcoming, and they take their time during the 'Greet and Meet,' and there's no rushing through the preliminary process. Thank you, Holly and Dan for taking care of our pups. Miss Phoebe and Senor Jax, these are our pet names for these two, came home happy, and as if they were never absent from their usual surroundings. Pups are like humans, if they were unhappy, you'd know it. But not these two. Both of course were elated to know that they were coming home, and Senor Jax laying in his usual comfy spot. As for Miss Phoebe, she's perusing the house assuring herself that all is still in its place as she left it.”

“Rachel was exactly what I needed for my dog. She had open and detailed communication with me the whole time, from booking to pick up. My dog came home happy and healthy. What an incredible weight off while I was out of town to know my girl was well cared for. Would definitely book again.”

“Karen is so great! She is very kind and caring. Our dog, Angel, received so much love and attention during her stay. We got several pictures every day which gave us so much reassurance while being away from our dog for an extended period. We could tell that Angel was very happy there and made to feel right at home. Thank you Karen!!!”

“Alicia was the best! I knew from our meet and greet that she was going to be great with Tig and of course she was. I had no worries while we were out of town as she sent updates and photos of our Tig often. I can tell he is going to miss his new hangout and all their love & cuddles. I will absolutely book again if I need to in the future.”

“Sully had his first weekend with Rachel and family this past weekend! Prior to the arrival, she was very responsive and asked all the right questions to make sure Sully was a match for her family. We also did a meet and greet before to make sure it was a good fit. She posted daily updates on her Facebook page that truly showed the smile on our dogs face. They’re fenced in yard with a little blue is perfect for multiple doggies. He had the best weekend. He is still sleeping almost after 24 hours of picking him up. A tired dog is a happy dog. ;) We most definitely we contact Rachel for future overnight needs. She took great care of him and we are truly grateful for that!!”

About: As a dog lover my whole life, I wasn't able to get one of my own until a year and a half ago. Having our golden retriever Tommy has completely changed my life for the better! I absolutely love dogs of all kinds and enjoy being outdoors and playing with them. I work full time remotely, so I am extremely available and flexible to your schedule. I can accommodate any needs and have experience with both puppies and senior dogs, and everywhere in between. Tommy has been professionally trained and gets along great with other dogs. We are able to keep dogs in our apartment if needed, and have lots of parks and sidewalks near by for exercise. I currently work from home full time, so I am very flexible for your pets needs. I currently keep our golden retriever active (as he very much needs it!) and would love to add another dog to the bunch if needed. I live in an apartment but have lots of access to local parks and walking trails. I am available for drop-in visits and walks as well.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
