“Jayla is the best sitter I have ever had for Marley! I had to travel out of the country because of an unexpected issue for a month and she was ready to take care of Marley at literally a days notice and was flexible with extending the stay too! She updated me regularly with pictures and videos and she kept Marley super happy throughout the stay. Marely had never stayed away from me for so long and is usually a bit clingy but I could see that he was super happy throughout the stay from the videos Jayla shared. She trained him, groomed him and fed him as per his requirement. I was super happy with the experience and would definitely choose Jayla in the future too. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my precious boy!”

“Milissa was awesome with my boy. She was very communicative. I received my pictures and updates throughout his stay. I would highly recommend her. I see why she”s a star sitter.”

“We knew from the moment Maggie stepped foot inside Meghan’s home that she felt safe and loved. I was amazed at the number of photos and updates that greeted me everyday. Maggie looked super happy and comfortable. Meghan is not only the ultimate puppy sitter; she’s a compassionate soul. I couldn’t imagine leaving Maggie with anyone else.”

“Jennette watch my sable for a week after meeting Jennette and family I felt that she would look after Sable and take care of her while I was away. She gave me an update while I was away ensuring me that I made the right choice. I pick up Sable once we return home, she was happy to be home. If ever we need to go on vacation again I will definitely ask Jennette to watch Sable again. Thank you I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing Sable was in good hands.”

“Debbie made my anxious boy feel right comfortable and took such good care of him. She sent lots of pictures and updates. I would definitely recommend her to care for your pets!”

“Wanda and her family were kind and accommodating while watching my dog Banjo. She ensured he was cared for throughout his stay and made him comfortable while he was anxious during thunderstorms and 4th of July fireworks. I would highly recommend Wanda for any and all pet-related needs.”

“David did a wonderful job watching my pup! He sent pictures of her everyday along with updates. She seemed very happy when we saw her afterwards. I’d trust him with her again!”

“Amazing sitter. She took such good care of my older dog over the holidays and kept me updated on how he was doing. If I wasn't moving across the country I would definitely book Cindy again.”

“We needed someone to watch our dog when we got married this weekend and we are so thankful that we found kathleen! She sent us updates and pictures of all the fun adventures they had. It really put my mind at ease knowing that she was being so well taken care of. I would highly recommend Kathleen to anyone! We would definitely use her again!! Thank you so much Kathleen for being so amazing and treating our dog like part of your family!”

“Christine was AMAZING with my dog Lily & cat Lotus. We did an in person meet & greet with my dog at her house before booking the boarding with her, which was great. My girls got comfortable quick at her house and seemed to really enjoy their stay. Christine sent picture updates as well and was very communicative throughout the stay. She also was happy to accomodate all of their feeding needs & schedules. She was so flexible as well, which was greatly appreciated as traveling can often be stressful. The least stressful part of my trip was knowing my furbabies were safe & happy in Christine's care & her gorgeous house. I will definitely be rebooking with her & recommending to my friends and family who are looking for a pet sitter. Thank you so much again from me, Lily & Lotus.”

“Elaine was amazing!! She was very patient with my baby who is very anxious around new people and places. She let me know how she was doing daily. And to my surprise, my Chi-chi even got along with her dog. I would definitely recommend and re-book with Elaine in the future.”

“Denise was great with my dog. It’s very hard to be able to trust someone with your pet when they’re considered family. But Denise took great care of my dog for 12 days . I would highly recommend her. She updated me with pics and news everyday.”

“Anjaliben was an excellent host for my fur babies Bear and Chubbs. From our first meeting I knew that I made the right decision with how welcoming she was. Bear and Chubbs were calm themselves for being with someone besides our family. This was a first time boarding experience for them and I. Medication was also given without any problems. I would highly recommend Anjaliben for her services that she provides. Bear and Chubbs have found their second home for vacations away from home.”

“My pups were well taken care of. They warmed up very nicely to another home. Artesha took my worries away of them staying in another home without us. I would gladly use her services again!”

“This was my first dog visit with Lina. Lina was an amazing pet sitter; she communicated and sent videos daily while I was there. She has a vibrant personality and she walked Bently a ton while away. He is still sleeping almost 24 hours later and exhausted. That's exactly what he needed.”

“Caitlin took amazing care of my Louie! She was super accommodating and kept an eye on his upset tummy for me. She gave updates every day and made me feel very at ease while I was away from him. He normally struggles with me leaving but he loved being there! He even tried to go back with her :) I would definitely try to book her again when I need someone.”

“My dog Pinto can be challenging and this has kept me from getting weekends away where I cannot bring her. Despite Pinto's difficulty with other pets and being tough to walk, Maryori did an amazing job. She stayed in touch all weekend and sent beautiful pictures of her and Pinto out and about so that I felt reassured and able to enjoy my time away!”

I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pet! She took amazing care of my dog while I was away on vacation, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It was clear that she treated him like one of her own. When I picked him up, he was happy, healthy, and clearly loved during his stay. Thank you so much for taking such great care of my fur baby—I will definitely be booking with you again in the future! 🐾❤️

Leanne and Mark were professional and so patient with our senior dog. Bailey seemed very comfortable with them during her long stay there. They took her for long walks and sent photos and updates on a regular basis. We would highly recommend Leanne and Mark and look forward to using them for future dog boarding.

Yesenia watched my pup while I was away over the weekend and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! She sent me multiple pictures and videos of my dog each day and answered any questions I had promptly. My pup seemed to really enjoy playing with her three dogs and enjoyed the big backyard. I 100% would use her again as a sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
