“Michelle took great care of our dog while we were out of town for a week. She sent frequent updates and pictures and our pup came home exhausted from playing with their two dogs. “Vickie and Heath were wonderful, and our pup had a great time! They sent plenty of pics and updates to let us know how he was doing, and we know he enjoyed himself because he came home pooped! Can’t wait to book our next stay with Vickie, Heath and their awesome fur family.”

“Jill was absolutely wonderful with Charlie and Bailey. She and her fur baby Roscoe made them feel at home. Jill was so helpful, flexible and caring with them. They were administered meds regularly, fed and cared for with great love. Her home was beautiful and very clean but still very conducive to pet care. “Tom was quick to respond. It was our first time using Rover and we have an energetic dog. Tom met us for a meet and greet after a big snow storm. Even though the roads were a challenge, he met us so I could feel comfortable about leaving our puppy for the weekend. He provided picture and video updates throughout. I'll be recommending him to friends.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hainesport
Lauren and Derrick were the absolute best. I felt very comfortable with them when I went to meet them for the meet and greet before my dogs stay. Their house was clean their pets were well mannered and friendly and they sent me many pictures during my dogs stay. they are true pet lovers and I would recommend them over and over. They will be my first option anytime I am looking for pet boarding.

What a professional she was. We had our 5 year old female Beagle for 3 long day weekends with Stephanie and were so impressed with her timely updates on Emma both in the morning and in the evening. We had a good amount of experience with big store chains and pet special care places, but her individually catered care was by far the best. We highly recommend her for your little animals definitely.

Shea was great with Max. He took him for walks, made sure he was comfortable and sent updates with pictures. Max appeared to have a great time during his stay with Shea. I would definitely use him for his dog sitting services again. And I would definitely recommend him to others.
Money was an amazing sitter. She deserves 5vstars! She was kind, patient, understanding attentive, and loving towards my.dog. She asked in advance for instructions on how to care for our baby. I will be using her again for sure! Great first experience with Rover and I am sold!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
