“I cannot recommend Meg enough! She took incredible care of my senior pup Cooper, treating them like family while I was away. I received regular updates, photos, and videos, which really helped ease my mind. It was clear my pup was not only well cared for but truly happy—whether going on walks, getting bones and treat, or just snuggling up. Very grateful for all she did to keep my pup calm and comfortable.”

About: When my family adopted our first dog, Jennie, a German Shepard mix, I had made it a priority to walk her almost everyday and play with her so she was never bored. I also helped train her when she was a puppy, teaching her how to sit and how to give her paw. I also took care of her when she became older, helping her down stairs and cooking her healthy treats like salmon and chicken. My family has since had two different foster dogs (American bully and Pitbull) that I love to spend time and go on walks with. I’m currently home from college for the summer, so I have plenty of time on my hands and would love to spend it with your pets! I will always keep a vigilant eye on your pet and do my best to make them as happy as possible. I spend a lot of time outside in my fenced yard with my dog, so I will be sure to give your dog the same amount of attention.
“Nicole was wonderful with our puppy dog, she kept her company, tired her out and kept her fed :) loved having her at our home dogsitting, she helped us feel comfy being away on vacation!”

“Kayleigh is without a doubt the best dog / house sitter we have ever had. Our dog Emma had a great time with Kayleigh and we returned to our home just as we left it. Kayleigh took lots of photos and kept us informed the entire time we were away, which eased any concerns we may have had (since this was the first time Kayleigh watched Emma). While this was the first time Kayleigh watched Emma, it certainly won't be the last. Thank you Kayleigh.”

“Whitney was so great! When my flight was delayed by 10 hours she was so kind and extremely helpful with staying longer with my dog. She’s the best!”

“Jaclyn was amazing and just what we were looking for in someone to watch our pups! We are new to the area and looking for a dog sitter has been tough, but Jaclyn was quick to respond, very experienced and super responsible with our dogs and house. We will definitely book again!”

“Allie was so thoughtful and caring about every little detail! She sent photos and videos frequently, and updated me often. She also organized my apartment for me and ran the dishwasher, washed the sheets and towels, and even refilled the brita pitcher! It was such a relief coming back to an organized and clean apartment, and coming back to happy pets! I highly highly HIGHLY recommend her!”

“Gabrielle was terrific. I’m a first timer and was nervous leaving my senior dog alone but Gabrielle did an initial meeting and was very prompt. She also kept me updated throughout the evening. My dog has dementia but Gabrielle was very patient through the “sundown” period. Highly recommend.”

“What a gem Kim is!! I have a 7 month old HIGH energy GSP mix and when I tell you guys this puppy mom was stressin about going away this weekend for my husbands birdhday/father's day weekend..I was stressin'! Should I stay home? Who can handle this puppy? Will he be okay with a sitter? Will THEY be okay with my Max? But Kim eased all those worries for me. We did a meet and greet with Max first. (which put me at ease that he would be just fine with her) While we were away, Kim sent frequent updates and kept reassuring me that he was a sweetheart and that he's just simply a puppy! She even brought in the mail for us. What a relief it is to know that my fur baby was well taken care of and that he didn't drive Kim away 😆😆. We will most definitely be using Kim again in the future! Thank you Kim!”

“Emilyann was amazing! She stayed in our house when we went away on vacation for a couple days. Our little boy was well taken care of! 10/10 recommend! We will definitely be using her in the future!”

About: i have two cats and a dog and they’re amazing! caring for them over the years gained me the experience to be proactive and protective. I work full time 3 days a week, 12 hr shifts. So on my off days i have a lot of flexibility and time to help out. I treat everyone’s home and fur babies like it’s mine. I have respect and care for those willing to let me help with their fur babies.
“Patrick literally saved the day! I had a last minute cancellation and he was able to help us out. Squishy and Storm felt comfortable with him from the start. He communicated with us throughout the day and we received several pictures and videos. Our pups had such a wonderful time that when we came home they were happy and super calm. He really treated my babies like they were his. Looking forward to working with Patrick again!”

“My husband and I would 100% trust our dog with David. We have an anxious pup and was worried about strangers meeting him but from the first meet, our dog was very comfortable with David. He gave punctual updates while we were gone and the visit went smoothly. When my husband and I came back home, we found a very nice handwritten card, chocolates, and even a dog toy from David! A very nice gesture and the kind of generous person we would invite back to our home to care for our pup. Thanks for your help David!!”

“Bri was awesome!! My dog is a little anxious going to unfamiliar places so it was important to me to find someone to stay with her at my house while I was away. Luna LOVED Bri, the pictures and updates showed that! Thank you so much Bri!!!”

About: I have always had a passion for pets and their care. Over the course of my childhood I have volunteered at animal shelters, animal hospitals and various other organisations. This love for animals has made me pursue a career in the military. When I graduate, I hope to branch Military Police and be assigned with a K-9 unit, to further my involvement with animals. I have a small pet of my own, who was rescued from a shelter at four months old. He is now going on 7 years. I have also cared for elderly, impaired, disabled and special needs pets. No one in my family, including myself, has ever smoked, been convicted or even thought to have committed a crime, and we have a clean record. My hours are very flexible and I treat every pet as if it were my own. Always taking into consideration their wants and needs. This love for animals makes me a trustworthy and realiable caregiver for your beloved pet.
About: Over the years I've cared for the pets of family friends and relatives. From taking pups on walks & play session to drop ins for cats. Making sure I'm following dietary need for each pet. Getting to know the different personalities of each animal I come across is my passion. In my childhood home I was able to experience caring for puppies until they became elderly. Though most of my experience is with pits. I was blessed to care for a doodle mix & a shih Tzu in their last years. I respect all animals and their space. I currently work full-time 3 days a week with 4 day available to care for your furbabies. Saturday- Monday is my work schedule. Tuesday-Friday I am up by 7am cleaning my home or visiting my parents. By 12pm the rest of my day is free. I can do evening drop ins (after 5pm) or overnight stays on the days I work (leave by 4am). Am very flexible during the week. If you're in need of a sitter/ care giver for family or business trips. In my home or the client's home I will follow the set schedule the clients have for their pets. My home has a fenced in backyard where I can take elderly or less fit pups to play and potty. I also live in a dog friendly neighborhood where I can take your pup on walks. I do require a harness and leash set per pet with a portable water bowl to keep them hydrated on walks. A breakdown of allergies or sensitivities each pet has. As well as a bed or crate for them to sleep in overnight. At the client's house I would like to do a walk through of the property and learn the habits of their pet. This will give me an understanding of how to properly care for each individual pet in and outside of the home.

Natalie did a terrific job taking care of our energetic 1 yr old pup and 2 cats. She sent us regular updates with pics, gave lots of walks and love to our pets, and took excellent care of our house. We were able to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing everyone and everything was taken care of at home. We look forward to using her again the next time we go away.
What a great experience! Megan was absolutely amazing with our Tommy! He is a senior dog so we were a little apprehensive leaving him. We couldn’t be more happy Tommy was very comfortable and Megan took great care of him! Dog whisper for sure!! Felt comfortable having her stay at our home as well!!
Andrea was very kind and communicative throughout the visit. She arrived on time for the meet and greet and was gentle and patient with my puppy during an important adjustment period. I appreciated her professionalism, flexibility, and willingness to provide updates while I was away. Thank you again for your help and care with Dolly!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hainesport walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hainesport maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hainesport choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hainesport. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
