“Katie and Rooney were really great with my nervous dog, Otis. It was great to see all the pictures she sent and we will definitely book a stay with her again soon!”

“Absolutely WONDERFUL. I literally have no words to describe how amazing Traci and Jeffery’s care was for Apollo. They are so sweet and kind and treated my dog as their own. They kept me updated on his activities and behaviors. They were so incredibly accompanying to his medical needs. They are such lovely people to talk with as well. They are very communicative and on top of the job. If you need care for your dog. Hire Traci and Jeffery!”

“John P. and Nicole did an amazing job taking care of our girl, Sasha! We found them through the Rover app, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Sasha had a fantastic time playing with the other dogs, especially their sweet pup, Panini. John sent us daily pictures and updates, which gave us peace of mind and made it clear that Sasha was having a blast. It was great to see her so happy and well cared for. We highly recommend John and Nicole to anyone looking for reliable, caring dog sitters. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Marissa & John G.”

“Monica and Conrad are truly awesome. Leaving our puppy, kiko, over the Christmas holiday felt easy knowing he was in such caring hands. We loved the constant updates, and it was clear she got plenty of play, exercise, and even some command work. Their dog Pongo, was sweet and showed our pup around during hikes. Highly recommend.”

“We were incredibly anxious about leaving our dog behind as this was our first time without him, but Mary was very kind & kept us updated throughout his stay on his well-being, which helped ease our concerns. Thank you again. We will definitely book again.”

“Jayla was awesome! She kept me updated on my pup throughout the day. I get very worried about her but seeing videos of her being happy and playful kept my mind at ease. My dog also got a new collar the other day. I couldn’t figure out exactly how to adjust it correctly. When I picked my dog up her collar was all fixed. Thanks Jayla!”

“Nick was excellent and I recommend him. Very caring, prompt communicator and made time for walking/playing with my dog (and best friend). Nick kept him safe (which is always my top priority), he was well fed and sent at least 2 updates with photos on the walk everyday. There was another dog present in the house (at least part of the time) but there was not supposed to be other dogs present; Nick explained the situation and I did not have concerns with the other dog (a smaller-size puppy) and they got along very well. I will definitely ask Nick to care for Cuper again.”

“Chase second stay with Kristen and family for a week. He was loved and quite comfortable!! Thanks for taking care of the old man doggo... I know he'll be happy to stay with you in the future!”

“My apologies that this review is so late... life gets in the way sometimes. John & Kelsie were WONDERFUL hosts to our puppy, Topher! I spoke with Kelsie several times prior to his boarding stay and we even had a preliminary visit. During his stay, she contacted me several times each day with picture and text updates. My puppy, Topher, got along well with her dogs and loved his boarding stay. This was my first time using Rover and my first time boarding Topher. I would definitely use John and Kelsie again without hesitation and HIGHLY RECOMMEND their services!! Thank you again! A. Harper & Topher”

“Cindy was very flexible with scheduling and allowing Duke to have a meet and greet prior to our scheduled boarding. Cindy also shared photos and videos during the stay.”

“Lauren provided EXCELLENT boarding services for Rocky. From the meet and greet, drop off and pick up. She sent photos and communicated several times a day. I was totally relieved with Lauren. I almost felt guilty that I wasn’t worried.😂 I would use Lauren again with no hesitation!”

My dog’s stay with Teresa and her family went perfectly. I was nervous dropping him off due to him having a medical issue a few days prior to drop off. Teresa was well informed about his condition and did everything to keep me at ease by providing regular updates and photos. He came home a very happy, healthy and tired pup. I can’t recommend Teresa highly enough.

Stephanie was a great dog sitter. we met her and her fur babies before Pluto stayed with her for 2 nights. She kept in touch with me with texts, photos and videos during his stay. I told Stephanie he was a fussy picky eater . She gave him different foods during his stay. She let me know what he liked while he was there. Pluto will stay with Stephanie again in the future. Matthew was great with our cat Arlo who was a newbie in terms of boarding. Arlo was apparently very comfortable in Matthew’s home. Excellent communication and daily pics and videos. We would highly recommend Matthew and his family as pet sitters and will definitely contact him again if the need arises.

Our sweet girl was in great care while we were away. She enjoyed the company of the other dogs (who are so friendly) and was so loved by Lauren, Derrick and their two kids. She had all of her needs met and of course loved her playtime at their house. We now know who to ask in the future when we need services again.

Shea was great with Max. He took him for walks, made sure he was comfortable and sent updates with pictures. Max appeared to have a great time during his stay with Shea. I would definitely use him for his dog sitting services again. And I would definitely recommend him to others.
Money was an amazing sitter. She deserves 5vstars! She was kind, patient, understanding attentive, and loving towards my.dog. She asked in advance for instructions on how to care for our baby. I will be using her again for sure! Great first experience with Rover and I am sold!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
