“Poppy and I both enjoy the walks with Cathleen so very much. She’s one of Poppy’s favorite people because she’s fun and friendly, patient and kind. I appreciate the exercise and socialization Poppy gets. Cathleen just makes our day! 🐾💕”

About: Ever since I was a little girl I have cared for my three dogs. They’re beyond a human’s best friend, they’re our companions! I have a genuine love and passion for our four legged friends and I cannot wait to love and care for your puppies like I love and care for mine! I would like to say I am very attentive to a dog’s needs whether they need a run or a ball thrown, even a good scratch! I’d also say I have a way of gaging if they’re tired and need to head back from a walk. Since I have grown up around dogs, I believe I have ample experience of playing, feeding, cuddling, walking and running with these buddies. I’m a crazy dog lover that would love to help out anyone with a doggie!!
“Eli did a fantastic job with my dog, Spot! Eli showed up on time, paid close attention to details about caring for Spot, appeared genuinely interested in Spot’s personality and needs, was kind and caring while demonstrating an ability to manage Spot with safety in mind. I will definitely rebook with Eli!”

About: My friends call me "The world's best dog mom" I've had a strong connection to animals since I was a child. I've raised puppies and cared for them in their senior years, managing their aches and pains with the best care, post-surgery care, medication administration- I've done it all. I work from home and am able to offer drop-in visits on the island to check on your fur babies while you’re out. Weekends are more flexible, but can also do weekdays. I currently offer drop-in visits at your home, perfect for potty breaks, feeding, water, play, snuggles, or any special needs they may have, like giving medication.

“Mel was amazing and patient. Got the dog great exercise and the pup came home happy! She’s very communicative and attentive to the individual dog’s comforts, needs, and preferences.”
“Natalie was on time, conscientious, and great with the pups. She put my mind at ease during a particularly stressful time when I could not walk them daily. I would definitely hire her again.”
“Piper walked our dog this week as one of us was out of town and the other slammed at work. Piper was perfect! Punctual, super communicative, and our dog loved her! (and even one of our cats did too, though she was only over to walk the dog!). Highly recommend!”

About: I have been a pet lover my whole 44 years. I have owned cats and dogs of many breeds, ranging from kitten care to senior pooches needing med regimens. Currently loving on a chinchilla at home, I am delighted to care for pets of all shapes and sizes. This is currently my only gig, so I have all the time to spend with your loved ones. Always happy to discuss complicated pet needs. Care in a client home is at each client’s discretion. You tell me what your love needs and I’ll get it done. You can trust me to communicate important issues and just take care of the small stuff.
About: I've always loved animals since I was a kid, and I'd really enjoy spending time getting to know and taking care of your pets. It's something I genuinely enjoy doing. I usually work in the mornings, so I can take care of your pets in the afternoons or on weekends. Let me know what works best for you! This is my first time using a sitting app, but I own two cats and have taken care of many kittens. I'd love to hear your input on how I can become a better sitter for you. Your pets' well-being is my top priority, and I'm committed to providing the best care.

About: With over 15 years of active pet-sitting experience and a lifetime of caring for animals, I bring compassion, playful attentiveness, and calm confidence to every home I visit. In 2024, I spent four months road-tripping across the U.S., housesitting along the way and caring for 7 cats and 14 dogs in 10 households—ranging widely in breed, age, temperament, and needs. This experience left me especially comfortable quickly building trusting relationships with new animals and adapting to their individual personalities. I have extensive experience with medically complex pets, including administering pills and liquid medications, giving injections, and providing wound care. I understand the importance of consistent routines, detailed observation, and gentle handling when working with animals who require special attention. Whether caring for playful puppies, senior cats, or anything in between, I offer dependable, compassionate care tailored to each pet's unique needs. I work four days a week, Thurs-Sun in the afternoon and evening. On work days, I am available in the morning and late-evening. Mon-Wed I have full availability for all types of care. I prioritize safety and active stimulation for my own pets and those I care for. In addition to maintaining feeding schedules and security, I make sure those animals in my care receive exercise and mental stimulation, depending on their needs.
About: Hi, I love all pets! I provide the utmost care for your pet in my home or yours. I know how difficult it can be to make plans to leave your fur babies as I have one of my own. When I travel, my plans always involve finding a great person/place to leave my dog. I usually can't relax on a trip unless I know for certain my pets are well taken care off, in other words, taken care of, like I would take care of them. My dog is a rescue that I adopted from a shelter and she has very specific needs, like only going potty on a leash because she is blind. Despite the extra stuff I have to do for her, I wouldn't trade her for the world! She is fantastic with other dogs, cats, and birds, as she has been around all and gets on well with all of the above. I am excited that there is now a service like this where I can leave my dog with a trusted person and offer the same in return. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! -Cyndy I work from home so I’m home all day with my own doggo. We love to have other dogs around. My dog is laid back and not overly social with other dogs so it’s nice to have other dogs around. I have a fenced back yard. My dog is also crate trained. Our neighborhood has sidewalks and we take frequent walks, although she prefers to be carried in her dog backpack.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have helped take care of pets for family, friends, and neighbors for years. I’ve cared for both dogs and cats, including a puppy, and I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, and keeping pets company while their owners are away. I can also do overnights! I have experience with rescue dogs and dogs from abusive households - I understand that every animal has a different personality and needs different levels of patience and attention. I love animals and always do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I have two dogs- a Black Mouth Cur named Koa who was a rescue from Hawaii and an Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees Mix named Chung from a shelter in Tacoma. I have a flexible schedule and can work with a variety of pet care needs. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays, and I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep them comfortable by following their usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I understand that every pet is different, and I take the time to build trust and make sure they feel safe while their owners are away. I’ll also provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind. I also have experience with rescue dogs and understand the importance of patience when working with shy or nervous pets.
“Marlene has been very consistent and flexible. I was hesitant to have someone walk my dog. But I can see how my dog gets super excited when, he sees her. She is now walking Iman on a weekly basis. And that gives me peace of mind. I would absolutely recommend her 💯.”

“Katie is absolutely amazing. She’s reliable, organized, kind and absolutely LOVES animals. I 100% recommend Katie hands down!! She goes above and beyond every time she takes care of my dog.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
