“My husband and I just moved to SC and don't know anyone. We both started new jobs that keep us away from home for long hours. We were really worried about our pups being okay without a break in the day. It just wasn't an option. Then we found Sabrina!! She came over to meet us and the dogs and they took to her almost immediately. Even my particular girl Zooey. Sabrina comes over to check in our Zooey and Gus every day of the week and it brings us so much piece of mind. She keeps in touch with updates on the pups during her visits. We are so grateful for her!!”

“Katrina was on time, detailed with a report as well as photos on her visit with Sullivan & took extra time to train him during her hour session with him. He really enjoys when Katrina comes over as she is really great with pet care! Highly recommend!!”

“Michelle took such great care of my Aussie, Luna, while I was out of town. I was relieved knowing Luna was in good hands and loved on while I couldn’t be there. Highly rec Michelle and will absolutely book again.”

“Carolynn was an absolute lifesaver. I had a last minute work trip, a senior dog recovering from knee surgery, and a 6 month old puppy. Carolynn was flexible with my last minute request and gave TLC to both the canines while I was away. Thank you so much for spending quality time with the puppo’s!”

“Alice was great! We were in town for spring break and had a day planned that required pup stay back. Loved being able to use rover on vacation. Alice took Jocko for a walk, playtime and sent sweet pics!”

“We had a last minute trip and this was our first experience using Rover. Joshua was phenomenal with Tibbs and Bella, very professional and a great caretaker!”

“Sarah was awesome! She came and met Bear before sitting, which we really appreciated as first time Rover users. Best was spoiled the whole time we were gone, and Sarah was always in communication with us and updated with tons of pictures. Highly recommend and will 10000% have her as a sitter again. Thank you, Sarah!”

“Ella did such a great job taking care of our two dogs. She was very attentive and followed our agreed upon schedule. She shared pictures of the dogs walking, eating, and playing. Would contact her again for care and highly recommend her to others.”

“Ying was awesome! Not only did she take the cutest pictures of our cats to keep us in the loop, but they were accompanied by very thoughtful and entertaining summaries of her visits! Always stressful leaving your pets with a stranger, but by her last visit, there is no doubt we will be booking with Ying again in the future :)”

“Stacey was awesome and took great care of my cat while I was away! She sent me pics regularly to let me know he was good and taken care of so I didn't have to worry while out of town!”

“Mary Anne is absolutely wonderful! She is very thoughtful and takes very good notes on how to care for your pet. She did a few drop-in visits with Karl, our Hermann's Tortoise, and was communicative and sweet. We'll definitely re-book her next time we're in need of a sitter.”

“What a wonderful girl! Our Teddy took right to her and was very happy to be with her. She arrived on time and kept us informed with pictures of Teddy as we relaxed at the beach and pool! We could never have done that without her. It was so comforting to know that our sweet boy was in such good and caring hands. We really liked Katelyn and will definitely use her when we visit Kiswahili!”

About: I have never gone a day without owning a dog. Iv taken care of puppies all the way through to senior dogs. Some training knowledge. I work full time in downtown Charleston. M-F 8:30-5. Early mornings, evenings and weekends and always available. I can also work with my employer for any special times I treat all animals with ample care. I am able to distribute medicine and keep careful watch. They are my top priority when they are in my care

About: I have been working in animal rescues since I was little! I have worked with dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, and tempers. I have ample knowledge on what is needed for each type of animal and would love to help you out with your pets! I am a full time student at MUSC, but have majority of the afternoons and some mornings free! I also have a cat myself, but she is very low maintenance and does not require too much of my time. I make sure each pet is comfortable and happy in their own environment! I know when an animal needs it’s space or when it wants attention. It is very important to be able to read each animal and gauge what they enjoy, and I can definitely provide this!
“Sam is dependable and takes good pictures of my dog when she visits him. It is nice to see cute pics of my dog when I am at work. I know my dog likes to have his buddy Sam visit.”

About: I grew up with labs, so I have been a dog lover all my life. When I was in middle school I would look after my neighbors pets. As I got older, most of my work in the summer was taking care of people's pets and houses when they went on vacation. I enjoy walking and like an excuse to be outside. I've always loved working with animals and would give them all the love and care I would give my own dog. I use to want to be a veterinarian, but the schooling would have been way too difficult, so I guess Rover is a good compromise (i hope you laughed). If not, animals are easier than people. I am responsible, trustworthy, and would provide diligent care to your pets.
“Christopher recently looked after my cat Cujo, who is notoriously shy and rarely makes an appearance for anyone outside the family. Even though Cujo stayed hidden the whole time, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in good hands. Christopher maintained an open and consistent line of communication, giving me peace of mind throughout the entire time I was away. I really appreciated the updates and knowing that he was respectful of Cujo’s temperament and space. Even though they never had a face-to-face encounter, I could tell Christopher took his role seriously and cared about Cujo’s well-being. I’d absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful cat sitter—especially for pets who need a gentle, understanding presence.”

I highly recommend Mason. He took wonderful care of our cats with genuine care and affection. He was always on time, reliable, and made sure our cats were well looked after. We truly appreciated his dependability and would not hesitate to have him care for our pets again.

Becca did such a good job with Andi! After a bad experience with another sitter, we were super hesitant to book anyone for our trip. Becca went out of her way to make sure we knew when she would be at the apartment and everything that happened while she was there. We came home to a comfortable and happy cat. We can’t wait to book Becca again!

Sarah was awesome! She came and met Bear before sitting, which we really appreciated as first time Rover users. Best was spoiled the whole time we were gone, and Sarah was always in communication with us and updated with tons of pictures. Highly recommend and will 10000% have her as a sitter again. Thank you, Sarah!

Paul has been a great and reliable sitter for my 3 cats for a month now while I’ve been out of the country. He provided pictures every time and made sure all their needs were met, and followed up with me consistently in case he needed any thing for the cats. I had the pleasure having him look after my kitties and will surely be looking to work with him in the future!
Parker was an amazing cat sitter for our kittens. He connected with them pretty quick and it was clear they felt safe and cared for in his presence. By the next day, they were already seeking him out for attention. His gentle, patient nature really shined through. We will book him again for our fur babies, the next time we need a cat sitter.

Heather was great with my boys! She was very punctual and consistent with her visits and always gave lots of photo updates! Both my guys also warmed up to her basically instantly, which is always a good sign and helped to make my trip worry-free :) I would absolutely recommend her!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Forestdale. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
