“Katarina was so patient with Luna and I appreciated the whole process from the intro to the pick up!! She made me and Luna feel extremely welcomed and shared plenty of pictures. I would absolutely use her again and would recommend! 10 out of 10, no notes!”

“Bailey is a dog whisperer. She took care of our poodle mix over the holiday and was extremely communicative and sent pics and videos/ so that we knew he was in good hands. She is so sweet and has a genuine understanding and love for dogs. Highly recommend! !”

“Great communication. Very friendly and wonderful with the pets (cat and dog). Felt very comfortable they were well taken care of during our week long vacation.”

“Five stars plus. This was Chauncey‘s first time doing a Rover visit and it couldn’t have gone any better thanks to Katherine and Cory. Chauncey is high energy to say the least and a patiently got him through a weekend without us. He got plenty of exercise and love and we are very grateful for hosting him for the weekend. Thanks again.”

“Carlos and Ciara love to stay with Lorraine, I can see in the pictures she sends that they have so much on their walks, and sniffing around the backyard. I let them on the furniture at home, and they are allowed on her couch, too. :D”
“We had another great experience with Angel. Ferris got along really well with his dogs so it was nice knowing he had buddies. Angel gave at least daily updates with photos and videos, took Ferris out for regular exercise, and was very flexible with timing and logistics.”

“Even tho it was a last minute request, Jennifer went up and beyond to take care my dog Maverick. Began with asking questions when dropping Maverick to get to know him and understand his needs. Keep me updated and sent a video. I definitely recommend Jennifer and will use again soon. If Maverick could talk I will say he definitely felt comfortable and had a good time..”

“Kandyce was great with our dog and with us! She kept in touch and was responsive, while also being patient with our dog's idiosyncrasies. The dog loved playing with Kandyce's dogs, too. Highly recommend!”
“Christina was amazing!! From the booking, to drop off, to pick up everything was perfect. She communicated quickly and I got daily updates that made me feel reassured the entire time. I would 100% recommend and I will always keep her in mind for future bookings!”

“My first time leaving my two huskies with Jose and they had a good time. He was very communicative and sent updates regularly. He cared to let them enjoy the weather before it got rainy and despite the rain, my dogs were returned to me without mud. Would definitely leave them with him again!”

“Jessica couldn’t be any sweeter. We have a 12 year old Great Dane, and certainly no longer an easy dog to take care of (although sweet!) Jessica went above and beyond to make him comfortable and happy. So much so he didn’t want to leave!!! Not enough good things to say about Jessica, her husband, or Capone. Highly recommended 😍”

I have successfully fostered dogs as well. I currently work full time but am alloted a flexible schedule to maintain my dogs. Daily routines are not easily broken and are steadily maintained. Situated near both our regular veterinary and emergency veterinary. My two dogs are very welcoming and friendly to new friends.

“Annette and her husband did a wonderful job with my dog Teddy! I had adopted him just a few weeks before I had to leave for a few days, so I was worried about him being anxious while I was away. But they took great care of him and sent adorable photo updates every day! He also enjoyed playing in their backyard.”

“Ashley was so communicative, provided a ton of updates, and made my Pop Tart right at home! I can tell she took amazing care of her. Absolutely hope to board with her again in the future.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Forest View
Had a meet and greet with Cary and her daughter. Juno immediately leaned into her daughter which was a good sign (picked her person). Cary carefully introduced her to her dog and explained how she would care for Juno. I had to make several changes and Cary was very understanding and accommodating which was a stress reliever for me. I picked up Juno and she was so happy to see me unlike my previous experience with another sitter where Juno appeared to be mad at me (lol). Well Juno has been on the couch resting so I know she had a good time otherwise she wouldn’t be so tired. Cary responded to my text and sent video of Juno. Oh and Juno smelled so good and looked good when I picked her up. I felt that Juno was well taken care of. Thank you Cary (and fam) will definitely be using Cary again!

Jasmin & her pup, Andy, were our dog’s dream come true. Peach was showered with love, play with Andy, time in the beautiful yard, and plenty of walking. Delightful pics and videos were sent daily. Truly the highest quality sitters on the Rover market. Thank you to Jasmin & family!

This was my first time having my dog stay with anyone not family. He immediately got along with Robert and was not anxious. When I picked him up, still upbeat attitude and no signs of distress. I could even hear him barking when I was walking towards the door on pickup day, which means he already considered Robert's place like home and was scaring off strangers 👍🏾. Robert was really easy to talk and coordinate with. He sent me photos if requested. He took the necessary precautions we discussed for my dog-aggressive dog, and didn't seem uncomfortable at any point.

Christine was able to accommodate our very last minute need for boarding and was a wonderful caregiver for our older dog, Luna. She took her on multiple walks a day, managed her meds well and sent us daily updates with photos :) Christine’s love for animals is evident - she’s very kind and I will definitely keep her at the very top of our list for any future Luna-care needs.

Pax had such a fun time at Karen’s house! They played a lot of frisbee and she had tons of toys for him to play with. Karen was super on top of things, very kind, and she sent us lots of pictures and updates! Pax seemed completely at home and totally at ease there. Thank you Karen!!

Julliana and her family did an amazing job at taking care of our dog Cooper!! She provided wonderful photos and updates everyday, and it was easy for me to tell that Cooper was well taken care of and that he was having a great time! Along with that, she was extremely accommodating when our flight back to Chicago was canceled and Cooper had to spend an extra night. We will definitely recommend her to anyone else and will be sending Cooper to her house again!

Overall, my dog had a great 3-week stay. I received regular pictures and updates, which made me feel confident and at ease knowing he was being well taken care of. He got to play with their dogs and clearly felt comfortable in their home. I really appreciated the care, communication, and attention they gave my dog, and I’m grateful for how welcoming they were. I would recommend them and would consider booking again.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
