About: Hello! My name is Karissa and I am a big animal lover. I've had dogs and cats my whole life, and have always enjoyed spending time with and caring for them. I have trained and competed in agility with my Australian shepherds, and I have worked with and trained dogs of all ages. I have also cared for and loved many cats (both my own and for clients and friends). When I played varsity polo for Virginia Tech, my team was charge of all aspects of care for our 16 horses during the school year. I have ridden and cared for over 100 horses since I was young. Through these experiences, I have administered medications, handled behavioral issues, fed a variety of foods, and cared for and diagnosed illnesses and injuries. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, cared for, and loved while their favorite people are away. Your pet should feel like they are on vacation too! I am available and excited to care for your pets on any schedule that works best for them! My schedule is quite flexible right now. Because I offer care in your home, I strive to ensure that you and your pets feel safe, respected, and cared for. I emphasize safety, privacy, cleanliness, and happy animals. Especially with the temporary change in caregiver, I believe it is extremely important to maintain the routine your pets are used to while you are away, with maybe a couple extra treats (with permission, of course) :) Above all, I adhere to the care rules and instructions given to me, because you know your pets better than anyone.

About: I currently work at Fairfax Vet Clinic as an Administrative Assistant and Pharmacy Technician, where I spend my days caring for and working closely with animals. As an Administrative Assistant, I regularly triage pets and speak with owners about their concerns, which has given me a strong understanding of common symptoms, changes in behavior, and when a pet may need veterinary attention. As a Pharmacy Technician, I’ve developed extensive knowledge of veterinary prescriptions, medications, dosing instructions, and pet nutrition, including helping ensure that pets receive the correct medications and food for their individual needs. My experience with animals began when I was 16, when I started working at a doggy daycare. I continued working there throughout high school, gaining hands-on experience caring for dogs with a wide range of personalities, energy levels, and needs. Since then, I’ve continued providing dog and house sitting for neighbors, friends, and family. I grew up with both dogs and cats and currently have a cat of my own, Dennis, who I absolutely adore. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets. I’m responsible, attentive, and dependable, and I take the time to learn each pet’s individual routine, personality, and needs. Whether your pet needs a long walk, medication, a consistent feeding schedule, or simply some extra love and companionship, I’m committed to providing thoughtful, reliable care and giving you peace of mind while you’re away. 🐾 I work full-time at Fairfax Vet Clinic, working Mondays-Thursdays and half days on Saturdays. I am available to care for your pet in the mornings before work and after work and have availability all day Sundays. As a cat mom myself, I am very attentive of my own cat’s needs and wants. He is an indoor/outdoor cat who I make sure stays inside at night every night when he cuddles with me. I am always checking him for cuts and scratches after going outside. I feed him every day at the same time and give him treats. When it comes to taking care of other people’s dogs and cats, I make sure to diligently follow the instructions given to me, but also to keep them feeling safe and comforted while their parents are away.

About: I grew up with dogs and I’ve been a dog owner most of my adult life. I’ve also been a dog owner from the puppy age of eight weeks all the way through mature life. I can take care of other pets as well, and I can be available for dog boarding, dog sitting, dog walks, and other pet care during your weekends and travels. I am a part-time parent and establishing this as additional income since I am a single income household in Marin county. I am available for dog walking and boarding on alternating weekends, and during periods of your travels when I am in town. I am an outdoors woman, and will get pets outside and active regularly. I know several local dog parks and dog-friendly trails since I’ve been a dog owner myself for years (I no longer have a dog as of early 2025). I have a fenced front and backyard. I can house a pet with all of your personal items for the pet anywhere in my home, and I can provide highly personalized care since I live alone (part time parent with alternating weekends on my own).

About: Although I have never owned a dog of my own, I have had extensive experience caring for family dogs since 2016. My sister has owned a dog since 2016 and in 2023, my mom also got a dog. This being said, I have been around and involved in caring for our family’s dogs for many years. Currently, I continue to help care for my family members’ dogs whenever they go on vacation or out of town for a few days. I am diligent about keeping the dogs safe, taking them on walks, making sure they have fresh food and water, and feeding them at their appropriate scheduled times. Most importantly, I have always treated them with genuine care, patience, and love. While I do not have professional or paid pet-sitting experience, my experience comes from caring for the dogs in my family because I truly enjoy spending time with them and want them to feel safe and cared for. I am currently a graduate student and am looking for opportunities to earn some extra income to help with my personal expenses while I complete my studies. I am a full-time student during the weekdays and a mom to a 6 six year old girl who also loves dogs. I am available in the evenings to take your dog on walks. I am also available anytime on weekend to take care of your pup or to take them for walks. I make sure dogs are safe and comfortable while in my home and throughout the walks. I keep them on a secure leash at all times, pay attention to their surroundings, allow them time to sniff and explore, and make sure they release enough energy without getting them overtired. I also clean up after them and follow any specific instructions from the owner.

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was 7 years old when I had my first fur friend and also my family and neighbors always relied on me when they were away to take their dogs on the walk, feed an play! I'm currently finishing my master’s degree and have lots of flexibility. I’m available most of the days from Monday to Friday starting at 8am. I can take care of your furry friend at your house and also walk it, feed it, and play or socialize at the dog park.

About: I have volunteered at Humane Societies with all kinds of pets because animals are my passion, and have had pets for almost 30 years. I currently have had a wonderful cat named Latte for 6 years and I couldn't live without her. I am available during the day to walk your dog or take it to play at a dog park, or check in on your cat and give it plenty of love, food, and attention. I make sure the pets I look after are cared for like my own, and their safety, comfort, and security are a top concern of mine.

About: I am experienced in caring for dogs of all ages (I am always the go-to friend to dogs and housesit). Our family has an 8-year-old doodle named Stela, so I understand the importance of proper care and daily walks. Additionally, I have a good intuition regarding dogs and can sense if something is wrong or if we should cross the street because the owner doesn't want their dog to meet another one. As a responsible pet owner, I prioritize daily care and exercise. I ensure fresh water is available throughout the day and take regular breaks for bathroom walks. Weekly routines include walks, playing and thorough cleaning of their living spaces. I also schedule regular veterinary check-ups and maintain a consistent schedule for preventative medications. About: I have cared for many pets in my life (a dog, cat, tortoise, 4 birds, 2 fish, and 9 hamsters to be exact) so my love for animals is a huge part of who I am! I currently live with my Ragdoll cat, Myko, and he is my bestie. I have taught him tricks, we go for walks on his leash or in his stroller, and we start and end every day with playtime. I have helped friends and family over the years, with bottle feedings, walks, bathing, grooming, and medications. I have a very nice dog park across the street.
