Aaron and his family are always so wonderful to my Maddy girl. She looks forward to spending time with them and every time she comes home I can tell how much they have worked with her and kept up her hard earned skills with obedience training.

Susan and her family were incredible! We have never left our boys with anyone who isn't family, but Susan took care of them as if they were. If you are looking for some place for your dogs to get plenty of love and attention while you are away, I absolutely recommend Susan! We have already booked our next stay with her.

Theo had an active, delightful day with Danielle. Danielle sent me pictures and text throughout the day to let me know how my boy was doing. Danielle is so kind and really understood the personality of my terrier. Just a wonderful experience all around.

About: Compassionate and dependable animal caregiver with 5 years of hands on experience caring for four Goldendoodles and one Black Labrador. Skilled in providing daily care, including feeding, exercise, maintaining routines, and ensuring a safe, healthy environment. Experienced in managing multiple dogs at once, recognizing behavioral cues, and meeting each animal’s unique needs with patience and attention. Dedicated to promoting the well-being, comfort, and happiness of every pet while building trust with both animals and their owners. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. I regularly go on runs, walks, hikes, paddle boarding trips, and swimming, and I would love to have a dog accompany me during those activities. Caring for pets would add structure and purpose to my day while also keeping me active and engaged. I also work full time as a medical assistant at Tahoe Forest Health System Monday through Thursday from 5:45 AM to 4:20 PM, so I really value making the most of my time outside of work. Having pet care responsibilities would be a great way for me to stay busy and active after my shifts or on my days off. Since I don’t have much family or many friends in the area, I genuinely enjoy the companionship of animals and would love to build a bond with your pets. Spending time with them would not only keep them happy and exercised, but also keep me motivated, fulfilled, and connected throughout the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise through walks and playtime, and receive lots of attention, companionship, and supervision while in my care. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure they feel safe and well cared for in their own environment. When I lived in Cameron Park, I cared for five dogs of my own and kept them all very active through daily walks, outdoor time, and structured routines. Since moving, I no longer have pets of my own due to limited space and financial stability, but my experience with multiple dogs has given me strong hands-on knowledge of managing different personalities and energy levels at once. This experience has helped me stay confident and attentive when caring for other people’s pets, and I treat every animal like they are my own while they are in my care.

I had a last minute need to take care of my Sadie and nearly cancelled my trip! From the moment Wendy responded to my request I felt absolute comfort leaving my baby with her! The entire time she communicated with me and sent pictures of Sadie and her DARLING golden, Wilbur, together having the time of her life! I’m not sure who had more fun on vacation; me or Sadie?! Your baby will be well taken care of with Wendy 💕 I hit the jackpot finding her !

I’ll be honest, Chelsea didn’t have a ton of reviews when I first reached out, so I was a little hesitant at first, especially since our previous dog sitter moved away and Blue is truly our baby. I’m so grateful I decided to take a chance because Chelsea was absolutely wonderful. From the beginning, she was kind, communicative, and very flexible, which immediately made me feel at ease. Throughout our week-long vacation, she sent regular updates and photos that meant so much to me and made it easy to relax knowing Blue was happy and well cared for. He settled in so naturally that it felt like he was staying with family, not just a sitter. Coming home to a happy, calm dog confirmed everything. It was clear she treated him with so much love and attention. Chelsea is someone who genuinely cares about animals and takes great pride in what she does. I felt incredibly safe leaving Blue in her care and would not hesitate to book with her again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter they can trust and feel confident with.

We left our beloved Poodle and Airedale plus another Poodle we were babysitting while we were at a destination wedding in Tahoe. This was a difficult decision for us as our dogs have never ever been left with someone else. We couldn't have been more happy. Beautiful home, Beautiful yard and loving care. My dogs, while confused, were instantly at ease. Kathy sent pictures and updates though out the dogs stay. It was easy on us and easy on the dogs. I would recommend Kathy in a second and if I have the chance to go to tahoe again, I would use her again in a second. The best picture was the two standard poodles sitting with her on her couch one on the left and one on the right. Thanks again Kathy.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Laura! From the moment we dropped our dog off, we felt completely at ease knowing he was in caring and capable hands. When we picked him up, it was clear how happy and well cared for he had been—his tail was wagging, he was calm, and honestly, he seemed like he had just returned from his own little vacation! It’s such a relief to find someone who genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. Thank you, Laura, for taking such great care of our pup. We’ll definitely be booking with you again!

If any fur baby pet owners need a place to board their babies, we can and will highly recommend Young's Doggie Resort. Not only is Young's home perfect for any fur babies; Young, himself is beyond perfect. We never imagined someone would open their home and their heart the way Young did. Sending texts and photos throughout the day with constant updates and even a blog. Young was so caring and loving, we're planning to use his doggie daycare so our pup can play with Hersey and Frasier, plus Young!! As you can tell, we can't say enough about Young and his care for fur babies.

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
