About: My dog recently passed away at the age of 16, so I am just trying to get my doggy fixes in. I would love if they could join me for a run or hike. I currently work full time at an office M-F but come home for lunch for an hour. “We had such a wonderful experience with Kathy! She took excellent care of our two small dogs over the weekend, and we couldn't be happier with the care they received. Kathy kept us updated with beautiful photos and regular updates, which really put our minds at ease. It was clear that she genuinely loves animals and provided them with the best care possible. We felt 100% confident that our dogs were in great hands. We will definitely be booking with Kathy again in the future! Highly recommend!”

“We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Laura! From the moment we dropped our dog off, we felt completely at ease knowing he was in caring and capable hands. When we picked him up, it was clear how happy and well cared for he had been—his tail was wagging, he was calm, and honestly, he seemed like he had just returned from his own little vacation! It’s such a relief to find someone who genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. Thank you, Laura, for taking such great care of our pup. We’ll definitely be booking with you again!”

About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I don't have any pets living with me so your pet would be the only one I would be caring for. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.

I'm on the track & field and cross country team here, and I do rigorous training for it! Hoping to take a dog or two on my runs! I have breaks in my schedule, so I’m free for pet loving almost all of the time! When pet-sitting, I’m always attentive of pets and their behaviors. I understand this is not my home, so I make sure to be respectful of house rules and stay clean.

“Jessica was an amazing Rover for our puppy. We dropped her off in the morning at Jessica’s home and picked her up after a day of skiing during our week at Northstar. Jessica was super flexible and very easy to communicate with. She even walked down to the main road to get phoebe when her small street was nearly snowed in. Very accommodating and kind!”

“Kathy was great and was very accommodating to our schedule. Her home is clean and set up well for dogs. Enzo has a great time and was very comfortable with Kathy and her dog. We will use her again when in town.”

I am generally available every day from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, but can start earlier or end later as needed. On Mondays I am only available until 3:00 PM. Animals love me and I love them- be it hiking and exploring a lake, throwing sticks in the yard, frolicking in the snow, taking a short stroll, chasing a feather on a stick, or just kicking our feet up for a chill day. I have 3 friendly dogs and 2 cats at my home (one laid back, one spunky 1.5 year old) and a large, unfenced area in the woods where dogs can be leash walked or free roam. There are 4 litter boxes and 2 cat trees throughout the spacious multi-floor house. My own dogs are outside playing the majority of the day with water bowls and a bowl puppy pool outside or cooling down inside.

“Danielle was a fantastic sitter for Oreo! She was incredibly responsive and her home is perfectly set up for dogs - I loved seeing the protective sheets on the sofa, a dedicated water station, and a secure yard for roaming. She kept us updated with photo and messages while we were skiing, which we really appreciated. Oreo came home happy and even smelled great! It’s clear she takes excellent care of her guest dogs. About: Dogs have been a central part of my life for more than 10 years. I’m the owner of Furbal Remedies and have years of experience supporting dogs with anxiety, allergies, digestive sensitivities, mobility concerns, special diets, supplements, and medications. I understand how important consistency and attention to detail are, especially for pets with unique needs. My goal is always to help your pet feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. I work part-time and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide dependable care throughout the week. Whether your pet needs a daily walk, a midday check-in, vacation care, or extra attention while you’re away, I’ll do my best to accommodate your routine. I believe consistency helps pets feel secure, so I strive to keep their schedule as close to normal as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions so they receive the same thoughtful care they’re used to at home. I’ll always treat your home with respect, provide regular updates and photos, and make sure you have peace of mind while you’re away. For first-time clients, I prefer a quick Meet & Greet with you and your dog before their first booking whenever scheduling allows. It gives us a chance to meet, go over their routine, and make sure everyone feels comfortable before their first visit.
“We hired Gissell to watch our dog, Gigi, on our wedding night. She responded to our initial inquiry almost immediately, and was very accommodating of our special requests. Gissell met us the day before our wedding to make sure that Gigi was comfortable in her home and to go over her nighttime schedule. We arranged for Gissell to pick Gigi up from our wedding venue, hang out with her for a few hours, and then drop her off at our place later in the evening. We highly recommend Gissell if you are looking for a reliable, professional, and kind dog sitter that goes above and beyond for your fur baby.”

“We left our dog with Shawna for daycare. Shawna was an attentive caretaker and provided regular updates and photos. She carefully introduced our dog to the other dog in her care and the two pups had a good time playing. Our dog is shy and anxious with new people, but seemed to do well with Shawna.”

“Madelyn took great care of Sophie! She took her on a fun hike with the other pups and sent nice photos. We're looking forward to future stays with Madelyn!”
“Sarah was wonderful! My husband and I were visiting the Lake Tahoe area for our anniversary and needed a doggy sitter for our miniature Australian Shepherd, Jack. Jack is a very shy dog with new people. Sarah was very understanding and patient with him and ended up winning his heart.”

“Our dog had an amazing time! Great hikes in the area and lots of attention and care. I also enjoyed the human conversation at pickup and drop offs! We hope to be repeat customers next time we’re here.”

About: I work from home, so dogs in my care are never left alone and always have company, attention, and love throughout the day. They get multiple walks, dog park time, a calm cozy environment, toys, music, and their own comfortable space to relax. They’re also welcome on the furniture and can sleep in bed if that’s what they’re used to. I truly see dogs as family members, not pets. I treat them the way I would treat my own child — with patience, affection, protection, and lots of care. I love having them near me while I work, and I make sure they feel safe, included, and deeply loved every moment they’re here. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I work from home, so I’m around and available throughout the day. That means your pet gets more attention, regular potty breaks, and consistent companionship—not just a quick visit. On a typical day, I can plan morning, midday, and evening walks/potty breaks, plus playtime and feeding around my work schedule. I keep things structured but flexible, so I can match your pet’s routine (especially helpful for puppies, seniors, or pets that need extra check-ins). Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, my priority is always the same: safety, routine, and a calm environment. I’m detail-oriented, I follow your instructions closely, and I keep you updated so you feel confident the whole time. In your home (drop-ins / house sitting): I stick to your pet’s normal schedule for feeding, potty breaks, walks, and playtime. I do safety checks (doors/gates secured, leashes/harnesses fitted correctly, no access to unsafe items). I keep the space tidy and stress low—especially for pets who do best in their familiar environment. I send photo/video updates and notes after visits. In my home (boarding / daycare): Calm, supervised environment with plenty of attention since I work from home. Frequent potty breaks, exercise, and structured downtime. I keep pets separated when needed (feeding time, high energy, or if a dog prefers their own space). Only pet-safe areas are accessible—no unsafe foods, small objects, or risky spaces. My safety rules, always: I don’t take dogs off-leash unless it’s a securely fenced area and you’ve approved it. I use positive reinforcement (no harsh methods). I watch for signs of stress or illness and communicate quickly if anything seems off. My goal is for your pet to feel comfortable and for you to feel totally at ease.

About: I have been working with animals my entire adult life, for the last 5 years. I have experience working in veterinary offices, as well as caring for senior and disabled pets in a home setting. I am available any day of the week at most hours. I am happy to go for a long walk or throw the ball for a high energy pet, or do a midday check-in for an elderly or disabled pet who just needs some extra attention. I find working with animals very fulfilling, and I would love to care for your pet! I am an online college student, so my schedule is very open for daytime dog walking and other drop in visits. I am available weekdays on short notice, and weekends with a few days notice. I am confident in reading animal body language and taking cues from pets so that they feel safe. I am happy to do repeated visits as long as I have met the owner once and have been able to communicate about your expectations and needs.

Because of this, I am a great fit for dogs who enjoy a relaxed pace and steady routine, though I may not be the best match for those requiring highly intensive outdoor exercise or off-leash adventure outings. Being based in Incline Village with a flexible consulting schedule means I can get to most local neighborhoods quickly for drop-ins or walks This allows me to be highly responsive to your pet’s needs, whether that’s a last-minute drop-in or staying at your home to keep your pet company during the day. Since I set my own hours, your pet’s routine becomes my priority. I believe pets are family members who deserve the same respect and care as any other resident. In a client’s home, my priority is maintaining the 'status quo' to minimize stress. I start by learning your pet’s specific cues, favorite hiding spots, and unique quirks. Whether it’s following a precise feeding ritual or ensuring the exact level of evening companionship they are used to, I treat your home and your pet with the utmost integrity. I am naturally observant and communicative, so you’ll receive regular updates and photos that capture your pet’s true comfort level.

About: My dog recently passed away at the age of 16, so I am just trying to get my doggy fixes in. I would love if they could join me for a run or hike. I currently work full time at an office M-F but come home for lunch for an hour. But I can guarantee a morning, lunch and evening walk (or activity) I live in an adu apartment but have a big open backyard and don’t mind pets on furniture if you don’t mind them on furniture.
“Could not have been a better experience! Our puppy dog Tito was treated as family during the course of his stay. Andrea was amazing at letting me know he was doing ok and I think Tito has found a new best friend with Henry! Thank you all so very much !!!”

“Kat was a great dog sitter. She sent some pictures while I was away. I needed an extra night and they were accommodating which I really appreciate. I will use them again.”

“Danielle was awesome with our pups! They were clearly excited and rightfully spoiled during the holidays. Felt comfortable and at ease having the dogs with her especially with the regular updates. She followed all instructions well and without issue especially for older dog. Highly recommend and will use her services again!”

“Melanie took great care of my dogs and dropped them off before we arrived! She was lovely to communicate with and my dogs seemed happy and healthy when we got him. Her place on the hill with the fenced in area looked lovely for the dogs. Will definitely use Melanie again!”

“Beezie usually is a little shy with new people. I dropped her off and she ran to Hallie like she knew her. I got updates and pictures of Beezie when asked. She did really well and I had such a piece of mind knowing she was being taken care of so well as this was my first time leaving her with someone other then a friend or family. 100% would book again with Hallie.”

“Ivy was a hit! She provided exceptional communication and sent daily updates with photos, taking the stress off of leaving our pet while out of town. Our cat is initially timid but was completely relaxed and happy, roaming around when we picked her up. Good job - thank you!”

“Shannon and David provided excellent care for my puppy! Their dog Brian was just the sweetest and great at helping with socialization and playtime. I appreciated their communication, and Zuri came back as happy as can be.”

About: Dogs stay in my home as part of the family, with a fully fenced half-acre yard, two friendly Cavaliers and plenty of room to play. I've had dogs most of my life and have also cared for dogs for friends and families I've connected with through Facebook (see testimonials). Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I work about 10 minutes from home and can come home for a lunchtime visit when needed. I typically feed dogs in the morning and again after work, and I can accommodate midday meals, medications or other care needs. Evenings and weekends allow plenty of time for walks, play and attention. Dogs stay with me as part of the family alongside my two friendly, neutered Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. They’re welcome on the couch or bed and get plenty of attention and affection. My fully fenced half-acre yard has a large lawn, orchard, garden and sagebrush-covered hillside with lots of room to run, sniff and explore. I also have chickens that are separated from visiting dogs by their enclosed coop or a separate fenced area. I live in a quiet neighborhood directly on the Steamboat Ditch Trail, giving us easy access to walks without having to drive anywhere.
“We are so glad to have found Susan and her love for dogs and her perfect place for our big energy dogs that love to run. Thank you so much for helping us feel comfortable with leaving our dogs overnight for the first time!”

“Megan and her family took such good care of my pup, they were patient and caring as it takes some time for Ollie to warm up to new environments. I received pictures and communication during his 7 day stay. I highly recommend booking, it’s such a relief knowing your pup is well cared for while you’re gone, thanks so much!!”

“Shazam had another great stay with Trulie! He is so happy when he gets to stay with her. His appetite seemed to be a bit off before his stay but Trulie managed to bring it back and now he’s eating again normally!”

“Thank you so much for watching our Donut!! Was so nice to be able to not stress the whole trip. We will be using you again in the future!! The whole experience has been AMAZING!”
